Chapter 340: Chapter 338: Thunderous Tactics

”We must strive to capture the suspect at the first line of defense! If necessary, we may **!” Bai Tao’s loud voice echoed in the conference hall.

”Yes!” Wang Meng responded with a roar, leading a group of officers armed with batons and handguns to rush forward.

Bai Tao watched the screen with some anxiety. Although he earnestly hoped that Wang Meng could capture the suspect at the first line of defense, the possibility of that happening seemed very slim.

On the other side, following Wang Meng’s command, countless police officers ambushed in the mountains leapt out. Fully armed, they adopted an interception stance.

Wang Meng quickly moved forward shouting through a loudspeaker, ”Stop the car in front, you are surrounded! If you don’t stop, you will face the consequences!”

Whoosh!

However, the three vans showed no reaction, maintaining speed, and charged forward.

Several police cars pursued them, but unexpectedly the three vans were even faster. They maneuvered ahead abruptly, swinging their tails and overturning two police cars.

”Damn it!” Enraged that the suspects ignored him, Wang Meng drew his handgun and fired at the tire of the leading van.

Bang!

The bullet flew out, sparks scattering. To Wang Meng’s amazement, the van began to swerve, as agile as a galloping lion, dodging his bullet directly.

Then, the three vans began to rampage, soon reaching Wang Meng and his team’s location at Lu Ku.

Seeing things were going wrong, Wang Meng urgently shouted, ”Roadblock! Quickly, roadblock!”

Several officers swiftly dragged out metal barricades and spike strips, sealing off the road completely.

Bang, bang!

Another burst of roaring engines could be heard, as the three vans drove onto a pile of stones on the roadside. They soared into the air, leaping over the roadblock! Finally landing steadily, they kicked up dust and sped away. The whole process took no more than a few seconds, leaving countless police officers on the scene with no time to react.

The van drivers clearly had professional driving training. The three vehicles flew through the air for several seconds and managed to remain stable on such a rugged mountain road!

Sweat dripped from Wang Meng’s forehead; who would have guessed that even handguns and roadblocks couldn’t stop them?

In the city’s central command room, Bai Tao, Yang He, Jiang Chao, and others were focused on the large screen. When they witnessed the suspects’ driving skills, they were secretly shocked. They had heavily fortified the first line of defense, but the suspects had broken through effortlessly.

”Wang Meng’s attempt to stop them failed. Requesting disciplinary action,” Yang He spoke from the side.

Bai Tao waved his hand, ”Have him return for now, the suspects indeed surpassed our expectations, so it’s not entirely his fault. Who is in charge of the next line of defense?”

Yang He responded seriously, ”It’s Zhang Xuan!”

----

Shortly after, the three vans arrived at the second line of defense.

...

”Captain, several of the brothers have been injured. We should retreat, otherwise, we’ll miss the chance!”

Seeing fellow officers falling injured around him, the deputy leader of the second line, Zhang Jia, advised.

With their firepower outmatched, continuing would undoubtedly be suicidal.

Zhang Xuan, his face bloodied, looked bitterly at how the suspects easily broke through the barricades and then drove away nonchalantly. Infuriated, he coughed up a mouthful of blood, seething with helpless anger.

”Damn it!” Zhang Xuan roared, punching the ground fiercely, his fist bleeding.

----

”The second line of defense has also been breached...” Yang He, sitting in front of the screen, spoke with a trembling voice. The suspects’ methods had been clearly seen, and it was obvious they were well-trained and experienced, beyond what the police could handle!

Bai Tao remained silent, standing before the big screen, his gaze fixed relentlessly on the image of the three black vans.

”The third line of defense has also been breached, and many people are injured!”

As Bai Tao had anticipated, less than ten minutes later, the third line of defense was completely overrun, the audacious criminals charging ahead unobstructed, about to enter the city of Shanghai.

Clap.

Bai Tao’s face turned pale, and he slumped into a chair.

Bai Tao coldly stared at the screen showing the final area where Xiao Tian was stationed, murmuring, ”It seems now that all our hopes rest on Xiao Tian...”

Saying this, Bai Tao immediately took out the radio. Dialing Xiao Tian’s number, he spoke directly, ”Xiao Tian, the suspects are headed your way, you must stop them! If they enter the city, the consequences will be unimaginable! On behalf of the Shanghai police force, I implore you!”
