Chapter 25: Chapter 23: Destroy the Long Pavilion

”If you’re willing to take responsibility for this matter, I can give you full authority. The entire Shanghai Public Security Bureau can follow your orders, as long as you can eliminate Long Pavilion,” Bai Tao gritted his teeth, directly tossing this responsibility to Xiao Tian.

Others might not know Xiao Tian’s skills, but Bai Tao certainly did. Otherwise, what would appear in front of him today wouldn’t be the lively Xiao Tian, but a cold corpse.

At the same time, this was Bai Tao giving Xiao Tian a justified reason to seek retaliation. Bai Tao was well aware of the background behind Xiao Tian.

”Alright! It’s settled then, I’ll handle this matter,” Xiao Tian’s lips curled into a faint smile.

In fact, he came to see Bai Tao today just to hear these words. With this assurance, he could act without any hesitation.

”In that case, there’s nothing more to discuss. Director Bai, I’ll take my leave.” Since he achieved his goal, Xiao Tian had no interest in small talk.

Overall, Bai Tao didn’t disappoint Xiao Tian. Watching Xiao Tian leave the office, Bai Tao surprisingly let out a long sigh of relief.

Just moments ago, looking at Xiao Tian, who could easily be his son, Bai Tao felt an overwhelming pressure.

That kind of pressure was similar to when he faced central national leaders, as if one wrong move and he’d be crushed.

”Looks like I’ll need to have a word with the various branch offices tonight. I bet Xiao Tian won’t keep me waiting for long,” Bai Tao thought to himself, immediately picking up the phone on his desk.

”Secretary Wang, inform all the branch office leaders to come for a meeting tonight. There’s an important task to announce. Make sure they all arrive, those who don’t will be reported and criticized.”

”Yes, Director Bai,” Secretary Wang on the other end replied promptly.

After leaving the municipal headquarters, Xiao Tian walked onto the street.

His gaze gradually turned icy, ”Long Pavilion, I think you’re tired of living. Not only are you targeting me, but you’re also fixating on my woman.”

A faint murderous intent was gathering around him, all because of what happened with Han Yan. In other words, the people around him, especially the women, had become Xiao Tian’s reverse scale.

A dragon’s reverse scale, touch it and death follows. At this moment, Xiao Tian had already sentenced Long Pavilion to death in his heart.

Eight in the evening.

In an estate on the outskirts of Shanghai, a massive plaque hung at the entrance, with the words ”Hu Village” written on it.

Two brawny men with intimidating builds stood guard at the gate.

Both men were fierce-looking, with intimidating tattoos covering their bodies, making it clear they weren’t good people.

”Bang!”

Inside the estate’s hall, a bandaged strongman smashed the teacup in his hand onto the floor, then slapped a subordinate across the face with his fan-like hand.

The subordinate flew out like a broken kite, losing several teeth in the process, illustrating the force’s magnitude.

”Damn it, can’t even pour a cup of tea. What’s the use of you?” The strongman didn’t even glance at the subordinate on the floor. Nearly a hundred people surrounding the hall drew a cold breath at the scene.

Yes, this strongman was none other than Hu Dong, who earlier fell off a cliff with the car. Somehow, perhaps because he wasn’t meant to die, he survived with only some surface injuries.

Hu Dong was already a man with a volatile temper. He wasn’t bothered by his wounds but was upset about failing the mission as Long Pavilion’s chief enforcer.

Although the failure wasn’t his fault, he couldn’t accept it, especially since it came at the hands of a mere police officer.

At this thought, Hu Dong had to harbor a grudge against Li Cheng. If Li Cheng hadn’t already died in the car, Hu Dong wouldn’t have spared him.

”Brother Dong! All four brothers who went out to kidnap Xiao Tian’s woman today got caught by the cops. It’s said Xiao Tian was the one who captured them,”

a subordinate nervously reported, not daring to breathe loudly in front of the infuriated Hu Dong.

”What?” Hearing that it was Xiao Tian who again disrupted his plans and sent his brothers to jail, Hu Dong was instantly enraged.

”It’s Xiao Tian again, that bastard is really a troublemaker. If it wasn’t for that useless Li Cheng today, I would’ve crushed his skull already.”

Hu Dong glared at the subordinate, as if he was about to eat him alive.

Meanwhile, he grabbed a watermelon from the table and exerted force with his fingers, instantly crushing the watermelon with one hand.

Juicy red watermelon flesh splattered everywhere, resembling blood.

Feeling Hu Dong’s terrifying gaze, the subordinate shivered, retreating back in a hurry.

”Brother Dong is mighty! Brother Dong is mighty! Brother Dong is mighty!”

Seeing Hu Dong crush a watermelon with one hand, the subordinates in the hall shouted excitedly. In this world, strength was revered, and everyone admired the powerful.

”Brother Dong, even though we didn’t finish off Xiao Tian today, we’ll have another chance tomorrow! With your strength, Brother Dong, taking out that Xia Tian is as easy as crushing a watermelon.”

A quick-witted subordinate seized the opportunity to flatter.

As soon as the other guys saw that he cut in, they got anxious too: ”Yeah! Dong, that Xiao Tian may be a cop, but I bet his skull isn’t any harder than a watermelon!”

”Yeah! Yeah! In all of Shanghai, even all of Huaxia, Dong’s fists have never met a match.”

......

The group of guys all let their imagination run wild, showering him with flattery non-stop, wishing they could take off their shoes and join in.

Anyone else would feel disgusted hearing this, but Hu Dong felt no revulsion at all, instead he enjoyed it immensely.

At this moment, he half-closed his eyes, then raised a hand, and the flattery from the guys instantly stopped as they all looked at him in unison.

Feeling like he was the focus of all attention, Hu Dong declared confidently:

”Alright! Tomorrow, I’ll take action myself. Even if I get a little injured, I’ll beat Xiao Tian until he can’t take care of himself, and I’ll crush his head with my own hands!”

”Hahaha!” Hu Dong then let out a series of laughs.

But right at that moment, ”Bang!” a harsh noise suddenly rang out. Then they saw the hall’s door being forcefully kicked open.

Hu Dong’s laughter was abruptly cut off by this loud noise, as if a rooster crowing happily had its neck suddenly grabbed.

”Bang! Bang!” Two dull thuds followed, as they saw two strong men being tossed inside, who upon closer inspection, were the two guards stationed at the door.

They, who looked strong and fierce, were now like rag dolls, thrown in carelessly.

”Was it you who wanted to crush my head?” Xiao Tian walked in slowly from the doorway, with a playful smile on his lips, looking at Hu Dong, who was covered in bandages.

Seeing Xiao Tian strolling in casually from the entrance, Hu Dong felt a rush of anger shoot to his head, seeing Xiao Tian walk in so openly.

In extreme anger, he laughed instead, giving a signal with his eyes to the guys around.

The guys immediately understood, surrounding Xiao Tian tightly.

”Should I call you stupid? Or just ignorant?” Hu Dong, now slightly amused by Xiao Tian’s seemingly idiotic behavior, had calmed down from his earlier intense anger.

”If you’re willing to kneel and beg me now, maybe I’ll let you die whole!”

Hu Dong glanced at him casually, as if Xiao Tian was already his toy.

The guys encircling Xiao Tian also showed cruel smiles.

”Idiot, our Dong wants you to kneel and beg, hurry up and do it!”

”If you piss Dong off, you’ll wish you were dead, but couldn’t die.”

......

Listening to the lackeys’ words, Xiao Tian acted as if he didn’t hear a thing, turning a deaf ear.

But it was precisely this attitude that, in their eyes, made it seem as if he was so scared it rendered him senseless, making them talk even more joyfully.

Hu Dong wasn’t in a hurry at this moment. Admittedly, Xiao Tian’s arrival surprisingly put him in a good mood. Initially, failing to complete the task and getting injured made him the butt of jokes at Long Pavilion.

But with Xiao Tian delivering himself, Hu Dong finally had a chance to prove to everyone that he had strength; it was just bad luck during the day.

”Kid! Did you really get scared silly? I truly pity you! Coming here to court death yourself, so why not kneel?” Hu Dong, seeing Xiao Tian standing motionless, grew a bit impatient.

”Once I send you on your way, I’ll pay a visit to your lover, she seems to be quite the beauty!”

Hu Dong was no stranger to Lin Bingxuan, one of Shanghai’s four great beauties, he’d been coveting her for some time, just lacking an excuse.

Since Xiao Tian provoked him, Hu Dong wouldn’t miss such a good opportunity, he’d definitely savor what being among the top four beauties was like.

Not to mention needing an excuse, there were times when Dong would just take a woman outright. Long Pavilion wasn’t just talk in Shanghai, so he wasn’t worried at all.

Listening to Hu Dong’s words, a slight grin curved up at the corners of Xiao Tian’s mouth, his eyes narrowing as a dangerous glint flashed across them.

If any of Xiao Tian’s comrades from the military were here, they would know that whenever such an expression appeared on Xiao Tian’s face, it meant he was truly angry.

”Huh!” Just as the fierce light flashed in Xiao Tian’s eyes, Hu Dong instinctively felt a huge sense of danger.

But the fierce light passed quickly, so the sense of danger vanished swiftly too.

Hence, Hu Dong didn’t take it to heart, thinking it was a mistake.

”What if I want you to kneel?” Xiao Tian said to Hu Dong, word by word, as he looked at him with a gaze reserved for a dead man.
