Chapter 2842: Chapter 2845: Negotiating with Si Wenjun

”We can serve the battlefield!”

”We can charge and fight, we can kill the enemy!”

”We can be cannon fodder, spare us!”

Seeing that Jiang Chen showed no intention of stopping, the entire Vanguard Army shouted in terror.

At these words, the Blade Legion, Taiji Legion, and Enforcement Legion all stopped their actions and looked at Jiang Chen in unison.

”Jiang Chen, they... they are quite a force!”

Wu Tiantong said softly.

In the current situation, Wu Tiantong could no longer suppress Jiang Chen with his status. These fifty thousand wanted to snatch Jiang Chen’s resources and assassinate him. Even if Jiang Chen killed them all, it would be understandable.

These people were all Vanguard Army, criminals, and it would be perfectly normal for them to be killed after attempting to assassinate a commander. Although there’s a large number of them, it wouldn’t have a significant impact.

Jiang Chen didn’t respond, and he glanced around.

The death of forty thousand of the Vanguard Army had stained the surrounding ground completely red with blood, forming a river of blood that flowed toward the plains ahead.

The surrounding legions were all suspended in the air, looking at the scene in astonishment, and even some who had come all the way from Secret Realm City watched from a distance.

Some who still wanted a share of that initial Origin Power immediately dismissed the idea.

Too ruthless!

Jiang Chen was too ruthless!

More than fifty thousand people, killed just like that. Even if it was justified, it was still over fifty thousand people!

Swish!

At this moment, a ray of light flashed, and a phantom appeared in the sky.

”Greetings, War God!”

”Salutations, War God!”

Everyone’s expressions changed, and they hurriedly bowed.

Only Jiang Chen, suspended in the air, remained motionless, neither saluting nor speaking, merely looking apathetically at the phantom before turning his gaze back to the river of blood.

Si Wenjun was slightly taken aback, giving Jiang Chen a deep look, and then said lightly, ”Jiang Chen, the lives of these ten thousand are in your hands. If you want them dead, they will die immediately. If you want them alive, they will follow your commands, even if it means charging onto the battlefield now.”

The surrounding people had no objection at these words, for the life and death of these ten thousand were indeed at Jiang Chen’s discretion.

”Agree to one condition of mine!”

Jiang Chen looked at Si Wenjun calmly.

”Speak!”

Si Wenjun said softly, a hint of interest in his eyes, curious as to what condition Jiang Chen would propose.

”I know what you mean by giving me the Blade Legion; you want to tie me down with them, forcing me to participate in the war. That’s fine!”

Jiang Chen looked at Si Wenjun dispassionately: ”I can now lead the Blade Legion to assault the enemy camp and even stay behind the enemy lines to relieve the pressure on the major legions, allowing you to engage the enemy more effortlessly!”

”Mr Jiang!”

”Jiang Chen!”

”Commander, no! Don’t risk your life because of us!”

Everyone was shocked at these words and hurriedly exclaimed.

”Tell me what you want!”

Si Wenjun showed a look of surprise, speaking gently.

”I want their freedom!”

Jiang Chen looked at Si Wenjun with indifference.

All members of the Blade Legion trembled inwardly, looking at Jiang Chen in disbelief.

”The Vanguard Army, they say, after ten years on the battlefield, can return to the continent and leave past grievances behind.”

Jiang Chen said calmly: ”But can they really? Those who violated continental law and were apprehended by continental law enforcers might erase past grudges, but those who offended major powers and were forced into the Vanguard Army, can they really erase past grievances?

If they return alive, will those powers let them go? Even if they don’t attack them openly, will they not do so in secret?”

The surrounding people were moved by these words, exchanged glances, and fell into silence.

This is the cultivator’s world, where might makes right.

Even if the Vanguard Army is said to be pardoned after ten years of war, those powerful factions they offended could clandestinely eliminate them.

This fact is known to the rulers of each continent, but they all turn a blind eye.

In reality, all of the Vanguard Army know this too. They come to the Extraterritorial Battlefield with the mindset that every day they live longer is a bonus, never expecting to die peacefully!

”I want them to have absolute freedom!”

Jiang Chen continued: ”I will lead them to penetrate the enemy’s rear, attack the enemy’s stronghold. As you advance on the battlefield, and when you’ve advanced a hundred miles from where we’re fighting, I don’t need you to share our burden, just to keep up.”

”Three years, for these three years, we will always be behind enemy lines, after which I will bring those who survive to the Unity Realm Stage area. Once we reach the Unity Realm Stage area, I want them to be free, only needing to follow my orders without worrying about conscription anymore.

Moreover, when the ten-year term ends, I will return with them to their respective continents. From then on, I hope their past grievances can truly be wiped clean, and if anyone innocently kills them, I want you to promise to annihilate that person’s entire clan in revenge!”

The members of the Blade Legion were shaken to their cores, their eyes filled with gratitude as they looked at Jiang Chen. Although the road ahead was dangerous, Jiang Chen had given them hope, hope of surviving with freedom in the Void Nether Realm.

”It’s possible, but I have one condition.”

Si Wenjun pondered for a moment, then nodded: ”I need to have ten million military merits as compensation after you leave.”

”Agreed!”

Jiang Chen nodded: ”But with one condition, there must be enough enemies on this battlefield for us to kill!”

”There will be, throughout the entire Domain, the extraterritorial alien race numbers in the billions. If you fight behind their lines and don’t die, you should be able to accumulate ten million merits! However, you’ll need to first clear the merits on your identity plate, and then I will have a person give each of them an identity plate for collecting merits!”

Si Wenjun stated calmly.

The faces of those in the surrounding legions all changed. Jiang Chen was no longer at the Late Virtual Refinement Realm; he had already reached the Virtual Refinement Realm Peak. Now he needed to accumulate ten million merits, which meant these over forty thousand people had to kill ten million enemies, an impossible task!

”War God, this is unfair!”

Zhang Sanfeng’s face changed as he loudly exclaimed: ”If they need to achieve ten million merits, wouldn’t that mean they have to relentlessly fight? They’d have to constantly assault enemy camps to do this!”

”There has never been a precedent where retired Vanguard Army were protected, nor a fully independent legion. To break this precedent, one must pay a price that others cannot reach!”

Si Wenjun responded indifferently.
