Medic Martial Dragon King

Ding!

The elevator reached the 16th floor, and Xu Guitian walked towards VIP Room 1 while whispering, ”I’m telling you, since President Lin is so polite to that young man, he is definitely not someone we can afford to provoke. You must be sincere in your apology, understand? If we can’t get that gentleman’s forgiveness, just a word to President Lin from him, and our whole family is finished!”

”I, I understand!” Xu Zhiyan stammered, already drenched in cold sweat.

Arriving at VIP Room 1, Xu Guitian took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

”Come in!” A deep voice rang out, and Xu Guitian opened the door to the VIP room, ushering Xu Zhiyan inside.

Inside the VIP room, Jiang Chen, Lin Bingrui, and Lin Zhiyan had just seated themselves; they all looked up upon seeing Xu Guitian and his companion enter.

”Thump!”

As soon as he entered, Xu Zhiyan immediately knelt in front of Jiang Chen, his face full of pleading, ”Mr. Jiang, please forgive me! I apologize for what just happened and for the incident at the university!”

”The incident at the university?!” Lin Zhiyan looked at Jiang Chen in surprise.

Jiang Chen smiled faintly and explained softly, ”I felt my education was lacking, so I went to Dingjing University to further my studies. This guy is the president of the martial arts club at Dingjing University, and we just had a sparring match at the school today.”

”What?!” A shock went through Xu Guitian’s heart, and he kicked Xu Zhiyan hard.

Xu Zhiyan was sent sprawling to the ground by the kick.

Lin Bingrui and Lin Zhiyan then realized why Xu Zhiyan had troubled Jiang Chen, most likely because he was sore about losing the fight. They both knew Jiang Chen’s capabilities very well; even martial artists were no match for him, let alone the president of a university martial arts club.

”Kowtow and apologize to Mr. Jiang immediately!” bellowed Xu Guitian as he glared at Xu Zhiyan.

Xu Guitian had been full of anxiety about the previous matter, and now hearing that Xu Zhiyan had actually fought with Jiang Chen?

Xu Guitian knew his son well, aware that Xu Zhiyan was a third-degree black belt in martial arts, and seeing Jiang Chen’s slight build, he thought it impossible for Jiang Chen to be his son’s match, suddenly fearing that Xu Zhiyan had given Jiang Chen a beating that morning.

This could be disastrous. With Lin Bingrui’s high regard for Jiang Chen, if he found out his son had hit Jiang Chen, Lin Bingrui would probably take matters into his own hands and finish off Xu Guitian’s family without a word from Jiang Chen.

Frantically, Xu Guitian could only tell Xu Zhiyan to kowtow and apologize; he simply couldn’t think of any other solution!

Xu Zhiyan had also been worried about the morning’s events, but his concern wasn’t the fight, since he was the one who had been beaten. He feared his mockery and scheming might have left a grudge in Jiang Chen’s memory.

Struggling to straighten his clothes, he turned around on his knees, Xu Zhiyan gave a heavy kowtow towards Jiang Chen, his voice quivering with fear, ”Mr. Jiang, I was wrong, I was truly wrong, I won’t dare to do it again, please forgive me! Please forgive me!”

”That’s enough, it’s all right. I didn’t suffer any loss anyway. You can go out now, we’re about to have dinner,” Jiang Chen waved them off.

”Yes, yes, yes!”

Xu Guitian finally let out a sigh of relief and quickly pulled Xu Zhiyan up, not daring to stay a moment longer, and turned to leave VIP Room 1.

After Xu Guitian and his son left, the waiter served the dishes, and the meal was enjoyed by all. After finishing the meal, Jiang Chen and the others casually chatted.

”Mr. Jiang, I really can’t thank you enough for last time, at that moment I was... ah! I was blind to the truth, I hope Mr. Jiang doesn’t hold it against me!” Lin Bingrui looked at Jiang Chen with a face full of guilt, as after the incident that day, Jiang Chen had left without getting a proper apology or thanks.

Jiang Chen smiled slightly, ”It’s nothing, I understand. By the way, what happened to Liang Zhengqi? How was he dealt with?”

Lin Bingrui’s brows raised slightly, and she let out a light laugh without saying a word.

Jiang Chen understood immediately and didn’t ask further.

”Mr. Jiang, Elder Shen and the others want me to extend their thanks to you. Zhang Qiang is able to walk now, Elder Shen’s leg has sensation again, the hidden injuries of Shen Zhenguo and Wu Feng are also healed. They’re all looking for an opportunity to thank you!”

Lin Zhiyan accompanied her smile and spoke as she looked at Jiang Chen with a gaze filled with complexity, both admiration and a bit of embarrassment. Her father had personally told her about Jiang Chen and had instructed her to treat Jiang Chen with respect, yet she still found it somewhat difficult to adjust.

”Shen Zhenguo has devoted his life to the country; it is only right to treat him,” Jiang Chen said with a solemn face, speaking earnestly.

Lin Zhiyan hadn’t mentioned asking Jiang Chen to help Shen Zhenguo stand again, and Jiang Chen understood that they didn’t really believe he could help Shen Zhenguo recover completely. But that wasn’t urgent, as he hadn’t yet found the right medicinal materials.

Just then, the door was suddenly pushed open, and a waiter walked in carrying a tray.

All three were startled and looked at the waiter with confusion.

”Is there something wrong?” Lin Zhiyan, who was closer to the door, asked softly.

The waiter didn’t speak but continued smiling and walked toward Lin Bingrui.

Jiang Chen slightly raised his eyebrows, sensing something was amiss, and squinted his eyes, staring intently at the waiter.

”What’s the matter?” Lin Bingrui asked with a frown.

”President Lin, someone asked me to bring you a message!” the waiter said with a light laugh.

Lin Bingrui was taken aback and asked, puzzled, ”What message?”

”Be careful!”

Jiang Chen’s pupils shrank suddenly, and he yelled out a warning. At that moment, as Lin Bingrui was distracted by the reply, the waiter swiftly pulled out a jet-black dagger from beneath the tray and stabbed toward Lin Bingrui’s chest.

”Dad!” Jiang Chen had just moved when Lin Zhiyan also noticed and screamed out, stepping directly in front of Lin Bingrui.

”Shick—”

The sound of a blade piercing flesh could be heard as the waiter’s dagger stabbed into Lin Zhiyan’s chest.

”Zhiyan!” Lin Bingrui cried out in shock, reached out to support Lin Zhiyan, and punched the waiter in the face.

In pain, the waiter stepped back, pulling out the dagger, and dark blood flowed from Lin Zhiyan’s wound!

Poisoned!

”Bang! Boom! Crash—”

A loud clatter erupted, and Jiang Chen, blocked by Lin Bingrui, couldn’t get to the waiter immediately. In his urgency, he shattered the table and rushed swiftly toward the waiter.

Seeing the assassination attempt had failed, the waiter gritted his teeth, dagger in hand, and charged at Lin Bingrui again.

Suddenly, a gust of Gale Winds swept through, and Jiang Chen’s figure burst into the waiter’s line of sight. The waiter’s face changed color, and just as he attempted to retreat, it was already too late.

Bang! Thud!

Struck in the abdomen by Jiang Chen’s kick, the waiter flew backward in pain, crashing against the wall and collapsing heavily onto the floor.

”Pugh—”

Spitting out a mouthful of blood, the waiter passed out.

Suddenly, another muffled sound could be heard. Lin Bingrui, on reflex, held Lin Zhiyan and took several steps back, his face grim as he looked towards the door.
