Venerated Venomous Consort

Di Fuyi rolled up his sleeve to reveal the bracelet on his wrist. “Have you forgotten about the bracelet? This is a Love Bracelet, which means you are destined to be my wife.”

Gu Xijiu was dumbstruck. In fact, she had tried many ways to get rid of the bracelet, but none of them worked. As time went by, the bracelet slowly turned invisible on her wrist. Since then, it never showed itself again. It reached the point where she had almost forgotten about it entirely.

She took a look at her hand to make sure that there was no sight of the bracelet. Then, she took a breath before explaining herself, “As I said, it was an accident, so it does not count. See, the bracelet is…”

She was about to say that the bracelet was not there, but little did she know that the bracelet was about to show up. First, she noticed that something was heating up on her wrist, and before she knew it, the bracelet reappeared on her wrist after a decade of disappearance. It made a rather surprising entrance.

Gu Xijiu was completely blown away, but Di Fuyi, on the other hand, decided to ask her a question on purpose, “The bracelet is… what?”

She had to change her sentence. “The bracelet is nothing special. It has been around for too long, so it is not functioning quite well.”

Di Fuyi looked at her intensely. “Let’s talk.”

“About what?”

“Our wedding.”

The discussion continued.

The teapot was changed along with the cups. By now, other than the hot water, every other thing on the table was solely prepared by Di Fuyi. He had even brought the best kind of charcoal with him that smelled of fruitwood.

Di Fuyi could hardly cook, but his tea-brewing technique was quite impressive. Without a doubt, the tea leaves were of the highest quality as well. Since the brewing technique was better, the taste of the tea far surpassed the one prepared by Yin Jiusi.

Gu Xijiu had three cups of tea, which had given her enough time to tell Di Fuyi everything that he needed to know. She clarified once again that the marriage was not real, but only a show, as she needed to make sure that her disciple would give up on her once and for all.

Di Fuyi agreed to play along. Also, he promised to perfect his acting skills so that no one would suspect that they were pretending.

Deep down, Gu Xijiu knew very well that Di Fuyi was the perfect candidate for her, but she refused to take advantage of him, so she had to turn her target to someone else.

“Di Fuyi, there is something I do not understand.”

“You may ask.”

“You refused to be my disciple, but you are willing to play along in this wedding game. Why? You have to know that for the next three years, you will have to play the role of my husband, which makes you a married man. If you happen to meet someone else that you like, you will not be allowed to marry her.”

Di Fuyi continued to play with the bracelet on his wrist before responding, “I had never planned on marrying anyone, so that is not a concern.”

Gu Xijiu had to correct him, “It is hard to tell. It only takes a brief moment to fall in love. You have yet to find someone you truly like, but that does not mean that you will never find someone. Also, there is one more thing that you need to know. I am the God of Creation. Even when I am married, I will not move out of where I live. Instead, the groom will have to move into the Tianyin Valley with me. Do you mind? You really need to think carefully about your decision. You should not force yourself into something you do not want.”

According to the social norm, a bride should move in with her groom and not vice versa, but not many cared about it. Di Fuyi was an arrogant man, so Gu Xijiu suspected that he really needed to control his ego in order to move in with his bride or soon-to-be wife. Apparently, she had underestimated him. “I have thought about it all. I agree to do it.”
