Venerated Venomous Consort

Tian Mowen personally carried out the lashings. As a result, Tu Shanying’s back was badly mutilated. The entire scene was rather violent. Alarmed, the incident had become a warning for everyone.

The punishment served as a deterrent to others. Since then, the constitution was strictly abided to by everyone. Watching their leader get publicly punished, they knew they would face the same consequences if they broke the law.

When Tu Shanying was lashed, Gu Xijiu was present, along with Fan Qianshi and Wu Qianyan. All three of them were disguised to blend into the crowd. It had been six years after their unhappy separation in the glacier. It was also the first time that she saw him again since then.

She noticed that Di Fuyi had a significant increase in his spiritual power. Even as an officer, he managed to win the hearts of many. As soon as the man’s carriage showed up, people immediately fell onto their knees to pay him the highest respect. It was rather spectacular.

Gu Xijiu and her companions were sitting on the roof of a restaurant not too far away from the execution ground, unnoticed. She continued sipping her drink while casually enjoying the view from the top. Fan Qianshi and Wu Qianyan were simply spectators.

“Young master, what do you think about this matter?” Wu Qianyan suddenly asked.

Astonished, Fan Qianshi answered, “I will be the same someday. No, I will be better and stronger than him. I want all six worlds to surrender themselves to me. I will bring them to their knees and make sure they do everything as I ask.” He sounded like Emperor Qin, who had the wild ambitions to unify the broken kingdoms into one empire.

Wu Qianyan was obviously stunned by his response. Concerned, she gave Gu Xijiu a quick glance and caught her looking at them.

Fan Qianshi immediately noticed that something inappropriate had slipped from his mouth. He knew that what he said would probably anger his master. Smilingly, he quickly corrected himself, “I was only joking. You see, I am the disciple of the creator of the universe, so I am obliged to serve the people and eradicate their karmic obstructions. Wealth means nothing to me. However, in order to properly carry out the strict enforcement of the law, one must be superior and respected by many, just like our master. She is admired and respected by the people of all six worlds, so any of her commands will be properly executed. Power is important, as long as one intends to put it to good use.” He made good points to cover up his previous slip of the tongue.

Wu Qianyan seemed quite lost but nodded at him anyway. “Young master is wise indeed.”

Fan Qianshi smiled victoriously. He then took a glance at Gu Xijiu and saw her swirling her cup of wine. She seemed to behave rather casually, so he was not sure if she had heard what he just said. Determined to find out, he decided to ask, “Master, was I right?”

Gu Xijiu looked at him and asked, “Are you jealous of his wealth or his power?”

Fan Qianshi hesitantly replied, “His power, for sure. Without power, he cannot enforce the laws of the kingdom.”

Gu Xijiu was quite disappointed. She could already see his wild ambitions in spite of his humble gesture. Although power and enforcement seemed inseparable, the result could be entirely different if one put too much emphasis on the pursuit of power.

Troubled, she knew that she needed to teach him better. She then turned to look at the execution ground and saw that Tian Mowen was already carrying out the punishment. The ruler of the Monster Kingdom looked very pale and injured. The wounds on her back were bloody and gore.

There was not a sound from the public. The only sound that everyone could hear was the sound of his whip from each lash.

Abruptly, Tian Mowen suddenly turned and looked icily in her direction. What he saw was her departure, along with her companions.

Annoyed, his fingers tightened as he beat the ruler with another strike. Unable to concentrate, his strength was harder than before, so Tu Shanying was the one who suffered the most pain. The last whip almost shredded her skin wide open.
