Venerated Venomous Consort

She wanted to withdraw her arm, ”Hey Mr. Si Chen; your martial arts should be quite good. Can you stop tugging at my sleeve?”

”Are you going to leave me?” Si Chen immediately opened his eyes and continued, ”I am your savior. You can’t leave me alone here!”

Gu Xijiu asked, ”Are you kidding me? You came to the Bone Dissolving Stream alone to fish. You must be very good at martial arts. You can run on your own.”

It was not easy for her to perform teleportation with another person to carry. This person was a big burden that slowed down her pace.

More importantly, this person must have hidden intentions, but she had no idea what was the reason he kept following her. In the past, Gu Xijiu would try to figure out his purpose and background, but now she did not have the time to do so.

”Usually there will not be any animals and beasts around the Bone Dissolving Stream. It is the safest place in the Dark Forest. I came by my ride and landed directly here. I was planning to go back once I managed to catch the golden turtle. However, I never expect to meet you and the Six-eyes Spotted Killer Centipede…” Si Chen claimed.

Gu Xijiu remained silent. Was it the truth?

”Where else is safe?” Gu Xijiu did not want to argue with him but asked the most important question.

”Only the riverside of the Bone Dissolving Stream. However, it is not safe anymore. Other beasts may be afraid of that river but not the Six-eyes Spotted Killer Centipede. Even if you go back to that place, they will continue chasing after you! Besides this, don’t expect that the two of them will chase after other beasts and give up on you. Before they consume you into their stomach, they will not fight with other beats…”

Si Chen was very knowledgeable and furnished her with a lot of information. Gu Xijiu had a headache at this stage. She quickly glanced through her current surroundings. There were roaring sounds from everywhere, and she knew that creatures were getting closer to them.

The entire thing was strange. Gu Xijiu used her teleportation powers and not her Qing Gong. It should not leave any of her scents and trace along the way. She wondered how the beasts could track her to this place.

”The beasts in Dark Forest have special features. They have a very sharp nose that can smell any scent within a five kilometers radius. Every time you teleport you did not move more than five kilometers so naturally, they could smell you…” Si Chen explained.

Now she was clear. So she knew that she needed to teleport somewhere more than five kilometers away. When she noticed that the beasts were getting closer and wanted to use the teleportation again, she was stopped by Si Chen, ”You don’t have to teleport anymore. They have surrounded us.”

Gu Xijiu remained silent.

...

Gu Xijiu and Si Chen were standing on a big tree, and they could see that the beasts were getting closer and closer. They were now only four meters away.

All of the beasts looked strange. Gu Xijiu could hardly name any of them. However, all of them seemed incredibly ferocious. They gathered around a tree not far away but did not come nearer.

Other trees in the distance were shaking. Apparently, there were still a lot of the beasts that had not shown up yet.

They surrounded them!

Gu Xijiu held the sword in her hand tightly and straightened her back. She knew that it was going to be an intense fight.

”What are they waiting for?”

”They are waiting for their leader.” Si Chen answered. ”The Six-Eyed Six-eyes Spotted Killer Centipede is their leader.”

Gu Xijiu sighed, ”The two Six-eyes Spotted Killer Centipedes are looking for me. Later when I fight with them, you can find the opportunity to escape.”

Si Chen held her hand even more tightly, ”Since we are companions, I won’t leave you alone. We have to survive together!”

Gu Xijiu was speechless.
