My Youth Began With Him

“It’s not surprising that she’s on guard. It doesn’t matter,” Huo Yanyan replied.

“Then shall we do it in the OR? There are many people there and we have only one thing. If we can’t succeed in one try, all of our efforts will have been in vain,” said the young nurse.

“Of course, we can’t do it in the OR. Use your brain! Think about the things she will do after entering the OR!” Huo Yanyan was piqued.

“Usually, after entering the OR, they’d change clothes, rest and drink water, etc.” The young nurse tried to remember.

“That’s easy. Put that thing in her coat before she comes out and put it on.”

“This…” The young nurse was hesitant.

“What are you waiting for?”

“Okay. But Sis, are you sure you want to do this? The deputy director’s husband is very powerful. I’m afraid…” the young nurse stammered.

“You’re just a temporary worker here, what are you afraid of? After this, you will leave. Your ID is faked; who can find you?” Huo Yanyan retorted.

She had spent lots of money on this revenge operation. That thing cost her lots of money and then she bought someone in the hospital.

The most difficult part was finding a patient who needed cardiological surgery to get Huo Mian to the hospital.

If the patient was faked, the ruse would be easily found out; after all, Huo Mian had been asking around about the patient, which meant she was on guard.

“Okay. Sis, I know what I should do.”

In the OR on the fifth floor, everyone heaved a sigh of relief when Huo Mian entered.

“Hi, Deputy Director.”

“Thank goodness you’re here, Deputy Director.”

“How is the patient doing?” Huo Mian asked.

“The patient has a fast heart rate and has difficulty breathing; I’m afraid he can’t last long…”

“Where’s the file? Bring it to me.” Huo Mian extended her hand.

One assistant immediately handed the patient’s file to her.

She read it earnestly and finished it swiftly.

“What do you think of the risks, Deputy Director?” the surgeon asked.

“There are indeed some risks. The patient had a cardiological operation before; the second one is indeed difficult.”

“What shall we do? Do we do it or not?”

“Of course, we’ll do it. Tell his family not to worry and that we’ll do our best,” Huo Mian instructed.

“Okay.”

Huo Mian cared about the feelings of patients’ family members. When Zhixin was hit by a car, she had waited outside the OR with great anxiety and wished she could see the doctors immediately and ask if he would be okay.

After she became a doctor, no matter how urgent the case was, she would try to comfort the patient’s family members.

“I’ll change into scrubs. Let’s begin.”

“Okay.”

Then, Huo Mian changed into her scrubs and entered the OR, followed by assistants.

When everyone was busy, the young nurse hired by Huo Yanyan dodged the cameras and grabbed the small black earthen jar from Huo Mian’s office.

Then she carried it into the changing room next to the OR. Only a young nurse was sitting in there; she was chatting with her boyfriend on WeChat.

“I’m here to see the deputy director,” Huo Yanyan’s hireling said.

“She’s in the OR. You must wait until she finishes the operation,” the young nurse answered carelessly.

“I’ll wait here then. Oh, if you want to take a break for water or bathroom, go ahead; I’ll keep watch for you.”

“Good. I was going to the bathroom. Watch it for me; if the OR needs anything, just tell me.”

Then, the young nurse got up and left.

Huo Yanyan’s hireling opened the black earthen jar quietly; putting on a pair of rubber gloves, she placed something in one of the pockets of Huo Mian’s coat.

“I’m sorry, Deputy Director, but I can’t help it that someone wants you dead,” the young nurse mumbled in a low voice.
