Epic Of Caterpillar

Chapter 2583 - 2584: The Four Sacred Beasts Of Japan

-----

”Sacred Beasts? Who are they?” Frank wondered, as he looked at Matsuo, the Angelic Ego sighed, she had barely any time to speak.

”Oh, they are the strongest people of Japan,” explained Matsuo. ”They carry within them the Legacy of one of the Four Sacred Cardinal Beasts. The Azure Dragon, the White Tiger, the Vermillion Bird, and the Black Tortoise, theyʼre the last and strongest pillars of Japan as a country, maintaining it safe from country-level threats. But they… are very secretive and you ever barely will see them. They mostly live ordinary lives, Iʼve never met one.”

”H-Huh, just like that? Stronger than the Great Ancestor?” Frank asked.

”I think so…” Matsuo nodded. ”All just hearsay at the end, we donʼt even know more about them other than this.”

”Damn…” Frank thought about it for a moment. ”Ah right, White what were you saying before? S-Sorry I got distracted…”

White glared at him with slight disdain, squinting her beautiful eyes, with blonde eyelashes that made her look extremely angelic and beautiful… Harumi began growing jealous with the prospect such a beautiful girl would be living with Frank from now on.

”As I was saying, I am not sure what I am myself, but I was made a spear before,” she explained. ”I was made using materials by my master and… Ah well, I am only a Replica of the original, so I will dissipate once my internal Mana runs out… The real me is here.”

She pointed at the weapons she was holding, which had become dormant.

”Oh, the weapons…!” Matsuo said. ”Arenʼt they dangerous? Is it okay to grab them like that?”

”Itʼs fine, donʼt worry,” Whiteʼs Replica said. ”Thank you for your consideration though. After Elfina fell unconscious, the spears also did the same.”

”S-So youʼre her replica? Youʼre aware youʼre just a clone and the real one? Isnʼt it weird or creepy?” Erika asked something unneeded.

”Erika! Do you have to ask such weird things?” Harumi sighed.

”Itʼs fine,” Whiteʼs Replica said. ”I do indeed know I am a replica, and I donʼt have any particular feeling about it, quite honestly. I donʼt know if these memories will remain the next time he projects me or will transfer to my true self… but I am fine either way.”

”W-Well, alright then…” Erika nodded. ”Dad always told me to say thanks to those that help me out, so thank you for helping~!”

”Hm, I am here to serve after all, in this brief moment…” Whiteʼs Replica muttered, glancing at Frank. ”For now, Frank- no, master, you should trace the black spear. Both of us will be useful to you, even if only as replicas.”

”Youʼre right, I should do it now that I got the time… Sorry Elfina,” Frank felt a bit bad. ”But Iʼll take this as compensation for exorcising you… I promise Iʼll help you recover.”

Frank nodded, beginning to trace the black spear. His hand passed through the black spear as he felt all of its details and incredible appearance.

Slowly, circuits spread through the spear, which held no resistance now that it was unconscious, Frank felt a dark power engulf his body for a moment.

However, the dark power slowly became part of him… of his soul.

Until something within his internal armory appeared, a black spear.

”Hundred percent!”

Thanks to his quick efforts, and without being interrupted, it took him a couple of seconds to get it done instantly.

”Nice, with this I got another new weapon, and-”

”You should definitely trace the armor, the sword, and the bow,” Whiteʼs Replica said. ”You must use this ability of yours as much as possible, Frank… Hurry.”

”O-Okay, alright, I had not thought about it, but youʼre right!” Frank nodded. ”Letʼs do this…!”

After Whiteʼs words, Frank moved to tracing the beautiful red bow of Fiere, with its own intricate designs and magical runes.

”Done with the bow…!”

It was much faster than with the two spears, as it was done within three seconds.

He moved to the armor, it was big and intricate, but it seemed that even if the skill was ”weapon projection” armor could also be projected as long as it had magical properties and was considered ”equipment”.

”Armor done!”

And lastly, he moved to the divine sword that Sol carried around, it was big and possessed divine power within it.

This one took him a bit longer than both spears for some reason, the divinity it contained was hard to trace as he had not created or traced anything similar before.

”Phew… D-Done with this! Took me more than I thought, and Iʼm tired already.” Frank cleared the sweat off his forehead. ”With this I got a new arsenal of powerful weapons I can Project…!”

”Nice! Now we should get out of here,” Erika said. ”Iʼm hungry and I want to go have dinner.”

”Me too…” Harumi nodded. ”We should report what happened to our clans.”

”I wonder though, where did the witch go to? Her presence hasnʼt emerged, sheʼs gone,” Matsuo said. ”I guess sheʼs-”

TRUUUM!

However, in that moment where Matsuo thought they were finally done, a dark shadow loomed above them, rapidly manifesting into the shape of a woman!

”I suppose Iʼll simply have to get rid of you myself.”

Her ruthless and cold words echoed through the skies, as Frank and his friends were suddenly frozen within time.

”H-Huh?!”

His eyes widened, realizing he couldnʼt move, or even breathe, all of them were paralyzed right there, unable to move or do anything independently.

”W-What the fuck is going on?!”

As Frank wondered that, he looked around desperately… or well, he tried to.

The woman above them smiled, pointing her hands at them.

”Paralyzing a bunch of kids like you isnʼt any hard thing to do… Now, Iʼll kill you all except Frank, I want him fresh and alive for master to devour after all, heheh~!”

As the woman giggled, and Frank felt frustrated and furious he couldnʼt do a single thing…

FLAAASH!

A bright white light manifested from Whiteʼs hands; the paralysis effect everyone was under suddenly disappeared.

”RUN!”

She only had one word for them, as she grabbed everyone and quickly flew away!
