Reborn As Noble

Chapter 985: Before the Ceremony ( 985

Javier scowled, but his worry soon overtook his annoyance.

”Ugh... I don’t want to face that scary face. And I’m sure I’ll be the target because of this.”

Liana and Gloria softly chuckled. ”His Majesty isn’t that evil, you know.”

”Guh! Yes, he’s not. But I’m sure he’ll drag me into practice fights again or shove more paperwork at me after that.”

Javier glanced around. ”Errr... where are Felicia, Mimi, and Delya?”

”Oh? Looking for the virgin one after you’ve had ours?” Liana whispered playfully in his right ear, while Gloria echoed in his left.

”Err... no... you two are still my favorites. But that doesn’t mean I should abandon the others since they’re my future wives too.” Javier stammered in response.

Liana and Gloria exchanged a knowing smile.

”Felicia and Mimi were summoned by their father, King Lioness,” Liana explained. ”Delya was called by her brother, King Veldrac. Since today’s an official event, they have to attend as princesses. Felicia and Mimi for the beastkin nation, and Delya as princess of the demon nation.”

Javier let out a chuckle, then took a deep breath and squared his shoulders. ”Anyway, I should get going. Do I look presentable? Is my hair a mess?”

Liana stepped back and straightened his lapel, giving him a reassuring nod. ”You look just fine, as always, young master.”

Gloria leaned in as she adjusted his shoulder, voice soft and teasing. ”You look even more charming than usual today, young master~”

Liana wrapped her arms around Javier’s neck, glancing up at him with a soft smile.

”So, young master~ how about our morning kiss?”

Gloria, standing at his side, whispered, ”Yes, young master. Or maybe... we’re no longer that ’attractive’ to you~?”

Javier simply smiled, looking down at both Liana and Gloria. He gently caressed Liana’s cheek before leaning in to kiss her. Liana’s eyes fluttered closed as she returned the kiss deeply, delighted that his passion hadn’t faded since their first time.

As Javier pulled away, Gloria stepped closer, looking up at him with a playful smile.

”Don’t forget about your second wife, young master.”

”Mmm... I won’t,” Javier replied, before leaning down to kiss her just as passionately. Liana watched with a fond smile, shaking her head as she headed toward the door.

”Now, now~ that’s enough, Gloria, or you’ll make the young master late again.”

Gloria broke the kiss and shot Liana a pout. ”Mou! It’s rare for us to have a moment alone with him~”

”Yes, yes~ but if the young master is late, he’ll be in even more trouble. Now, hurry up, young master.”

Javier smiled, pleased with how Liana and Gloria carried themselves. He strolled toward the door, watching as Liana adjusted her maid dress and Gloria straightened her glasses before following behind him.

As they stepped into the corridor, Javier glanced ahead, heading toward his father’s room.

”Do you think Father is still in his room?” he asked.

”I believe so, Young Master. Judging by all the preparations, it might take some time. If not, I’m sure he’d already be waiting in front of your room by now,” Liana replied with a gentle smile.

”Yeah. He always shows up at my door when I’m late. Most of the time,” Javier admitted, rubbing the back of his head.

”Well, Young Master, you do invite trouble upon yourself,” Gloria said, covering her mouth as she let out a soft laugh.

”Guh... It’s not... I mean, it was fun! Grilling with everyone, Buddy, and all the pekko.”

”Yes, and then you ended up drinking wine. And then more wine.” Liana sighed. ”What are we going to do with our future husband, Gloria?”

”Ara~ Well, he rarely drinks, so I suppose we can let it slide.” Gloria replied, winking at Javier.

Javier reached the front door of his father’s private room, but the door opened before he could even knock.

He straightened as soon as he saw Garius step out, followed by Marcellus and Cedric.

”Esteemed Father,” Javier greeted, bowing his head respectfully.

Liana and Gloria bowed politely, placing their left hands over their chests. ”Your Majesty,” they said in unison.

Garius let out a sigh. ”Javier.”

”Y-yes, esteemed Father!”

”This vow of marriage with all your mothers was your idea and your plan, and yet you woke up late.”

Javier rubbed the back of his head, avoiding Garius’ gaze, and let out a sheepish smile. ”Sorry, esteemed Father... it’s just... err...”

”It’s just that you were grilling meat and having a party at the stream near the back hill, right?” Garius said calmly.

Javier swallowed hard and averted his eyes.

Garius exhaled again, while Javier noticed both his brothers struggling to hold back their laughter behind their father.

”Anyway, let’s go to the throne hall already.”

”Yes, esteemed Father.”

Garius walked ahead, with Javier and his brothers following behind. Escorts flanked Garius on both sides, maintaining a respectful distance.

Marcellus nudged Cedric and whispered.

”Ehehe... Someone got a lecture first thing in the morning~”

Cedric smirked. ”Someone hasn’t learned his lesson after all this time.”

Marcellus grinned. ”Heh... That’s our little brother. Grilling and drinking with his harem~”

”Ugh! You two!” Javier hissed in a low voice.

”What? It’s true, right?” Marcellus nudged Javier again.

Javier just sighed. ”What about you two, hmm?”

Marcellus shrugged, still grinning. ”Well... I did drink with Harny and Lithia, but I kept it under control. I know today’s celebration is important.”

Cedric smirked. ”As for me? Meira insisted I watch my drinking this month since my wedding is coming up soon, after all.”

While the brothers whispered among themselves, Liana, Gloria, and all the personal maids followed quietly behind them.

”So... where are our other siblings?” Javier asked in a low voice.

”Heres? Aelius and Athine?” Marcellus replied, ticking off names on his fingers. ”Hmm... I think they’re probably getting ready, or maybe they’ve already gone ahead to the throne hall.”

”Oh,” Javier said, then glanced at his brothers again. ”But why either of you didn’t bring your partners?”

”Ah,” Marcellus said with a smile. ”Lithia and Harny are assisting our mother.”

Javier frowned. ”Wait, aren’t Harny and Lithia no longer your personal maids?”

Marcellus shrugged. ”Yeah... but our mother will become their mother-in-law, so... you know.”

”Oh...” Javier nodded, then leaned closer to Cedric and whispered, ”What about you?”

Cedric rolled his eyes. ”Meira’s helping Erinette with the preparations. As for Zania, Father insisted she attend the ceremony as the official Last Princess of Amazarak. She’s with her caretaker right now.”

Javier snapped his fingers as if remembering. ”Ah, right! I nearly forgot Zania’s royalty. Well, that’s your fault, Cedric.”

”Huh? How is that my fault?”

”Well, you’re the one who made her fall in love with you. She insisted on becoming your personal maid.”

”O-oi... I didn’t force her! She’s just... persistent.”

”Yeah, yeah,” Javier smirked, glancing at Cedric, who was now huffing and blushing.
