Reborn As Noble

Chapter 887: Jealous Hearts and New Creations ( 887 )

Felicia’s face reddened. ”U-um... I didn’t say that...”

Liana sighed lightly, shaking her head.

”If Gloria and I hadn’t stepped in and spread that story, about how he’s a man who makes women pregnant and then disappears, who knows how many girls would’ve joined his harem by now.”

Gloria laughed softly behind her hand. ”Ara~ that’s true. If I recall, your little sister almost fell for him too, didn’t she, Liana?”

Liana groaned lightly. ”Yes~ thankfully, we were there to stop it in time. That’s one reason we didn’t want him going anywhere alone. His charm is far too dangerous for the world.”

She smiled, watching the sunlight glint off her teacup. ”Truly... that boy doesn’t even realize what kind of trouble he causes without meaning to.”

Mimi glanced at Liana and Gloria, eyes wide with curiosity. ”Hmm? Really? Husband is that attractive?” She tilted her head, ears twitching. ”He’s handsome, and definitely my type~ but I don’t think he could charm someone just by standing around...”

Liana smirked, and Gloria adjusted her glasses with a small, knowing smile.

”Now, now, fifth wife~”

”Wha!? Fifth!?” Mimi puffed out her cheeks in protest.

”Yes~” Liana replied smoothly. ”Now, tell us...how long do you think we’ve been sitting here drinking tea and enjoying chocolate?”

Delya raised a finger to her lips, eyes rolling upward in thought. ”Mmm... maybe about an hour?”

Liana’s smile grew sly. ”Now, do you know why I chose this balcony?”

Felicia, Mimi, and Delya exchanged glances before turning their attention back to Liana.

”Why?” they asked in unison.

Liana looked at Gloria, shaking her head with an amused grin. ”From where we are, Gloria and I can—”

But she stopped abruptly, her eyes narrowing. A faint, dangerous aura flickered around her. Gloria’s expression turned sharp, her presence suddenly intimidating.

”My, my~ Second wife, did you see what I see?” Liana’s tone was low, calm, but deadly serious.

”Ara~ of course I saw it too, First wife,” Gloria replied, her smile gone, replaced by a cold edge.

In a flash, both women leapt from the balcony, landing silently on the ground below. Without missing a beat, they rushed with practiced grace toward the direction of Javier’s Pekko pen and his personal workshop.

Felicia, Mimi, and Delya watched in stunned silence as the two maids vanished from sight.

”...Did something happen?” Delya asked quietly, chocolate still in hand.

Mimi just stared, tail stiff. ”Uh... I think we better follow them!”

Meanwhile, in Javier’s personal workshop.

Javier leaned comfortably against Buddy’s, the big Pekko bird content to sprawl on the ground, feathers ruffling. Javier’s eyes, however, were fixed ahead, full of pride and excitement as he admired the figure standing before him.

The new puppet knight.

His latest masterpiece stood silent and imposing, the light glinting off its sleek, black-and-red armor. The design was far more advanced than any previous model: every plate perfectly contoured, reinforced with the signature matte sheen of enchanted mithril.

Intricate lines of crimson traced the joints and plates, channeling mana circuits through the entire frame. Its helmet bore a striking, almost futuristic visage, the eyes like glowing rubies set into polished silver.

Javier grinned wide.

”Ahh~ how genius I am... Buddy, look at this! The new puppet knight, second version of the special operation units! Just look at that armor, flawless!”

He rub his chin, admiring his own work.

”The first upgrade was already great, but this? New Mana rifle, new reinforced armor... even the joints are stronger. And now, with a full mithril mix with andamantie chassis... mmm~ it’s perfect!. Soon, I’ll upgrade every puppet knight to this version. Armand’s enemies won’t know what hit them.”

A soft voice interrupted his thoughts.

”Young master.”

Javier glanced up, still leaning comfortably against Buddy, and spotted Erisa standing nearby.

”Ah, Erisa. What’s up?” Javier grinned while keep admiring his latest invention.

She wore the calm, polite smile that rarely left her face, her posture perfectly straight. As head of the household maids, Erisa handled everything with quiet competence. She was young and beautiful, her manner gentle, most wouldn’t guess she was one of the Secret Elite maids, personally trained by Mrs. Erinnette. His mother trusted Erisa completely as both an escort and a guardian.

”Young Master, Lord Garius is calling for you,” Erisa said warmly, offering a slight bow.

”Alright, I’ll go once I’m done admiring this new invention. Ah, isn’t it superb~?” Javier couldn’t help but boast a little, eyes shining with satisfaction.

Erisa stepped forward, her gaze falling on the puppet knight. For a moment she studied it in silence, then nodded, a hint of honest admiration in her eyes.

”Indeed, Young Master. This one looks even better than the model you assigned to guard the border wall. The lines are sharper, and it looks much more sturdy.”

Javier’s eyes lit up. ”Ah! You’ve seen the border units?”

”Yes, Young Master,” Erisa replied with a genuine smile.

”I have seen it before during one time when following Lord Garius and Lady fransesca visiting the northern border wall town. The puppet knights there already looked impressive, strong and dependable. But this one...it stands out, even among the best. The armor looks sturdy and the details are sharper, more refined. It’s clear you put your heart into this one.”

Javier’s grin widened, pleased by her straightforward approval.

”Heh, that’s what I was aiming for! This one can handle direct combat and special operations without needing field repairs. Not only that this one has even better barrier crystal. Mmm~”

Erisa nodded again, her eyes lingering on the armored knight. ”I look forward to seeing what you come up with next, young master.”

Buddy gave a soft, approving squawked, as if echoing Erisa’s words.

Javier laughed, still basking in pride. ”Alright, just a few more checks, then I’ll head over. Tell Father I’ll be there soon.”

”Of course,” Erisa replied, giving another polite bow before stepping back.

Erisa glanced back at her young master, a small, admiring smile lingering on her lips as she watched him for a moment longer. He looked so focused and content beside his Pekko, the evening light catching the angles of his face. She allowed herself a brief moment to appreciate how much he had grown, how handsome he’d become.

Just as she was about to turn away and head toward the manor, Erisa paused. Across the yard, she spotted Liana and Gloria approaching, both carrying a heavy, unmistakable aura. She stopped, straightening her posture with quiet grace, ready for whatever would come.

Erisa paused, stopping gracefully where she stood, her expression warm and polite.

Liana came to stand before her, posture poised and serene as ever, her eyes gentle but sharp. Gloria stood at her side, glasses glinting, her presence calm but serious.

”My my~ Erisa... what a coincidence to meet you here,” Liana greeted her, voice gentle, her smile graceful and serene.
