His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2232: Chapter 650: One Year Later (27) (Second Update)_3

”If you really wanted to divorce him, you wouldn’t have come back at this time!”

Feng Fanghua said to her coldly.

Qin Mu felt a bit resentful towards Mu Yichen, but didn’t dare to speak, and could only listen intently.

”Find a time to meet with me tomorrow.”

Feng Fanghua hung up the phone without waiting for Qin Mu’s response, sulking alone in the room.

Qin Mu slowly put down the phone, and sighed helplessly.

Mu Yichen watched the tired woman in the rearview mirror but didn’t plan to help her. Normally, he might take the phone and silence Feng Fanghua for her, but now...

Since she wanted a divorce, there were many things she should resolve by herself. For example, Feng Fanghua.

Back at the apartment, the siblings were almost asleep. They were drowsy as they got out of the car. Mu Yichen carried Chengcheng while Qin Mu held Huanhuan. The family of four entered the elevator, with Huanhuan holding Qin Mu’s hands with both hers, her forehead resting against Qin Mu’s arm as if she was going to fall asleep at any moment. Qin Mu looked down at her and felt a little worried. When they exited the elevator, she lifted Huanhuan up, even though she was getting heavy, she was still manageable. Qin Mu was grateful as she followed Mu Yichen and Chengcheng inside.

Once inside the apartment, they both carried their children upstairs. Mu Yichen put Chengcheng down and went to Huanhuan’s room, finding that Qin Mu had already settled Huanhuan in and tucked her in.

Qin Mu squeezed her own arm as she turned to leave, only to see Mu Yichen standing at the door, watching her with those deep eyes that made it hard for her to read his thoughts.

As she closed the door behind her, Qin Mu stood there not knowing what to do.

Because she hadn’t checked out of the hotel, and it seemed inappropriate to stay here, she lowered her head, wanting to say goodbye.

Mu Yichen leaned against the wall, waiting for her to speak, no matter what she said first.

The surrounding air was exceptionally quiet, oppressively so.

Qin Mu raised her eyes again: ”Otherwise, I’ll go back to the hotel!”

”That budget hotel?”

Mu Yichen asked her softly.

Qin Mu nodded but didn’t look at him anymore.

”I’ll take you!”

Mu Yichen said faintly, showing no intention to make her stay.

Qin Mu finally looked at him and spoke as he turned to actually take her: ”No! No need! I can go get a cab myself!”

She didn’t know why, but her heart felt a bit sour, though she knew it was the right decision.

Words failed her; Mu Yichen turned his head, staring at her with those dark eyes: ”Fine! Go then!”

That light yet definite tone made Qin Mu feel that as soon as she took the first step, he would tear her from behind.

”And the divorce?”

She didn’t dare ask more and had to focus on the important stuff.

”Did you think it was just the civil bureau being closed?”

Mu Yichen replied with a question.

Qin Mu thought, how would I know? I thought you could use your connections at the civil bureau to get divorced easily, but you said it wasn’t that simple, and even though your lawyer is always at your service, I guess it won’t go as you wish?

Mu Yichen saw the displeasure flickering in her eyes and took a deep breath: ”If Chengcheng and Huanhuan wake up and don’t see you tomorrow, they’ll think you’ve left again. Why not stay here tonight?”

Mu Yichen said, and just then his phone rang. He took it out, glanced at it, and was about to leave.

Qin Mu didn’t refuse after hearing this, but couldn’t help looking at his back and asking: ”Then where will I sleep?”

Mu Yichen turned to look at her, sneered slightly, and then went downstairs.

Qin Mu was dumbfounded, what did that sinister smile mean?

”I’ll be right there!”

All Qin Mu heard later was that sentence, and then he was gone. She thought about it, didn’t dare sleep in their room, just found some of her pajamas, went downstairs, took a shower in the downstairs bathroom, and then lay on the sofa.

Tonight, she’d just make do on the sofa!

By eleven o’clock Mu Yichen hadn’t come home. Qin Mu checked her watch several times, thinking, it’d only been over an hour since he left, it’s normal if he isn’t back yet.

But she didn’t know why she felt so uneasy. She listened to her heartbeat, erratic, unsure what she was worried about.

She felt petty, almost getting a divorce, yet still caring about what he and Chen Xiaoyi were doing?

In the dead of night, what else could a lone man and woman do?

She turned over, unable to sleep, unable to breathe, a painful sigh in the living room, and then she buried her face deeply into the throw pillow.

——

”Is it okay not going back so late?”

Jing Feng rarely asked him out for a drink and originally thought he would refuse, but to his surprise, he agreed. So after saying his piece, Jing Feng asked Mu Yichen a question.

”What’s the issue?”

Mu Yichen slightly raised his eyes, then looked back into the chaotic crowd in the bar, his eyes naturally half-closed.

”I heard Qin Mu is back, back to divorce you?”

Jing Feng, fearing paparazzi might catch them, genuinely wanted to provoke Mu Yichen, and whispered to him suddenly.

Mu Yichen’s grip on the glass faltered for a moment, and Jing Feng was satisfied to step away from him.

Mu Yichen suddenly chuckled: ”Who said she came back to divorce me? Helian Hao?”

”Do you think everyone in the world is as easily fooled by you as Qin Mu is?”

Jing Feng joked, obviously teasing him.

Mu Yichen raised his glass to his lips, then put it down before sipping, and turned his sharp gaze at Jing Feng: ”Even if she is easily fooled, there’s no need for you to say it out loud!”

Jing Feng...

”Alright! Just pretend I didn’t say it, but I think you need someone to help you right now! Interested in this matter?”

Jing Feng asked him indirectly.

Mu Yichen of course was interested, and his eyes became slightly more amiable.

Jing Feng smiled, put an arm around his shoulder, and they both looked at the men and women on the dance floor. Jing Feng let go after speaking, and Mu Yichen lowered his head, thought for a while, then raised his glass and this time felt like sipping it with interest.

Jing Feng raised his glass too, clinked it with Jing Feng’s, the bar was full of beauties, seductive yet undoubtedly, but upon closer inspection, they were all the same mold, only the ones at home were the best.

The two drank until almost midnight and then went home separately. When Mu Yichen returned, he didn’t expect Qin Mu to actually stupidly sleep on the sofa.

He smiled wryly, hands on his hips, standing over her.
