His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2225: Chapter 648: One Year Later (25) - Returned! (Part 3)_2

”Is it snowing?”

Qin Mu asked, her voice unexpectedly hoarse.

”Yeah!”

Mu Yichen stood there without turning around. Looking at this area now, it seemed desolate, yet it somewhat mirrored their current situation.

Taking advantage of him standing there still, Qin Mu quickly tidied up her pajamas and then got out of bed.

She had just put on one slipper when she lifted her eyes and saw him facing her, so...

Qin Mu slowly placed one foot on the carpet.

”If you don’t mind, I’ll go wash up first?”

Qin Mu said, and Mu Yichen didn’t respond. She took his silence as consent, quickly put on the other slipper, and headed to the bathroom.

She brought her skincare products, and after busying herself in the bathroom for a while and confirming she still looked decent, she seriously looked at the mirror.

He probably found out about her housing information yesterday and came immediately. Qin Mu didn’t know why he arrived so early. Was he afraid she might change her mind?

Gradually, there was a hint of disappointment in her eyes.

Thinking about how entangled they’ve been for years, she wondered whether to be relieved or just relieved that she’d finally lead a peaceful life.

But after she came out, she found Mu Yichen was no longer by the window but lying on her bed.

Was he asleep?

Qin Mu stood by the door, unconsciously lightening her steps.

She didn’t realize she’d already sighed out loud.

Dressed appropriately, she sat silently where he sat last night, quietly observing his sleeping form.

Was he exhausted to the extreme, or had he not slept at all the previous night?

Unconsciously, she felt inclined to study his features, leaning forward slightly, her elbows lightly pressing on her knees, and her gaze couldn’t leave his sharp profile.

Why does he seem to have lost weight too?

With such a pretty girl by his side every day, shouldn’t he be happy?

Forget it!

Why care whether he’s doing well or not, better focus on living her own life well!

By ten o’clock, he woke up, and the snow outside had stopped.

Qin Mu stood up from behind the curtain after finishing her phone call. There was no sign of him on the bed, and Qin Mu felt a sense of hide-and-seek crisis because she usually lost this game.

But soon she saw Mu Yichen coming out from the bathroom.

Surprisingly, he could still sleep in such a rundown place and use such an ordinary toilet.

”You’re awake! Let’s go!”

She tucked her phone into her pants pocket, her face lifting a smile symbolizing friendliness.

Mu Yichen didn’t respond, but he walked to the sofa and picked up her bag.

Qin Mu stood there for a moment, not following him until she realized he hadn’t noticed anything inappropriate about his action. Qin Mu helplessly called him: ”Mr. Mu!”

Mu Yichen suddenly stopped.

But he didn’t turn around. Qin Mu’s eyes carried a mix of emotions, yet she still smiled as she strode forward: ”The bag, I’ll take it myself!”

Mu Yichen released his hand as her hand reached over to grab the bag strap.

He couldn’t help but chuckle lightly, looking at her backpack: ”Is there something in there you’re ashamed for others to see?”

”Does a pair of underwear count?”

Qin Mu joked with a smile.

”What color?”

”Black!”

Qin Mu said as she slung the bag over her shoulder.

Mu Yichen looked at her for a long moment, his smile meaningful: ”Are you testing me?”

”Absolutely not, let’s go, or the civil affairs office might close soon.”

Qin Mu spoke as she walked ahead, with no intention of continuing the conversation. Such topics, they both were extremely familiar with the routine.

They both got into his newly bought car, Qin Mu sat in the passenger seat, feeling exceptionally comfortable, and leaned back, then turned to ask him: ”When did you buy it?”

”Not long ago!”

Mu Yichen replied, starting the car, and leaving the area.

Qin Mu felt quite good as they headed towards the civil affairs office, thinking today should go smoothly. As long as they reached the office before eleven, it would just take a few minutes to sign the papers.

”Why don’t you ask about Huanhuan and Chengcheng?”

Mu Yichen asked her on the way.

Qin Mu turned her eyes to him, her gaze briefly blank, then she smiled slightly: ”They’re with grandpa and grandma, so I naturally don’t have to worry much.”

”You seem so open-minded!”

Mu Yichen chuckled lightly, with a hint of sarcasm.

Qin Mu looked at him puzzled, suddenly realizing something seemed off: ”Are they not doing well?”

”We moved out from mom and dad’s place!”

Mu Yichen explained to her.

”Moved out? Why?”

Qin Mu was startled, turning to look at him seriously, waiting for an answer.
