Reverend Insanity: Dream Gu

Lin Yan’s Human Path attainment had already reached the quasi-Master level, giving him enough foundation to begin deducing Rank Six Human Path killer moves.

Building upon Self Will Gu and the countless insights he had gained while managing Flame Sovereign Blessed Land, he successfully deduced a new Gu worm, Human Will Gu.

Self Will Gu represents the will of an individual. Human Will Gu was its opposite, gathering countless individual wills into a single collective will. A lone person’s determination was limited, but when thousands shared the same belief and worked toward the same goal, those scattered wills would gradually converge into an invisible force. This was one of the fundamental principles of the Human Path.

After refining Human Will Gu, Lin Yan immediately began developing a corresponding killer move.

Using Firelike Immortal Gu as the core, supplemented by large numbers of Human Will Gu and Fire-burning Wine Gu, he successfully deduced the Rank Six management killer move, Raging Fire.

Unlike Blazing Prosperity, which stimulated the blessed land’s resources by overdrawing their future potential, Raging Fire focused entirely on its inhabitants. Human Will united the hearts of the people, while Firelike Immortal Gu ignited that united will like dry tinder meeting a blazing flame. The stronger the collective Human Will became, the greater the effect of the killer move.

Once activated, the entire blessed land seemed to awaken. Hairy Men refined Gu with unprecedented concentration. Eggmen tirelessly nurtured spiritual veins and immortal resources. While Huang Family Gu Masters overseeing the blessed land’s countless resource points became increasingly motivated. Every task was completed a little faster and with greater care,

Unfortunately, the actual results still fell somewhat below Lin Yan’s expectations.

Among the Hairy Men. Their Gu refinement efficiency increased by only twofold. The annual production of Rank Five mortal Gu rose from one thousand to two thousand, equivalent to only five immortal essence stones.

After a careful investigation, Lin Yan quickly found the reason. The Hairy Men were poorly organized, and their abilities were not put to the best use. More importantly, their age distribution was heavily unbalanced. Most of them were women, children, or young Hairy Men. Only a handful of elderly Hairy Men possessed enough experience to independently refine Rank Five Gu worms. The younger Hairy Men could only process Gu materials and assist with the simpler steps of refinement, leaving very few capable of taking charge of the entire process.

This was also the result of Lin Yan’s own decision. When purchasing the Hairy Men, he had deliberately chosen mostly women and children so they could reproduce and steadily increase their numbers. Had his goal been immediate Gu refinement, buying experienced Hairy Men nearing the end of their lives would have been a far better choice.

The Huang Family Gu Masters performed somewhat better. By devoting more effort to managing the mortal resource points throughout Li Fire Plains, they increased the blessed land’s annual income by around fifty immortal essence stones. Although the improvement was modest, it was still better than nothing.

Their problem, however, was entirely different. Most of the Huang Family Gu Masters were occupied with maintaining the family’s existing resource points and daily affairs. Very few were available to develop new resource points. Flame Sovereign Blessed Land was simply too vast. With so few Gu Masters available, they could only look after the existing resource points. There was simply no manpower left to exploit the blessed land’s untapped resources.

After examining the results, Lin Yan gradually understood the true value of Raging Fire.

”The key was never the killer move. It was the people.”

No matter how profound the killer move, it could only amplify what already existed. Without enough people, its effects would always be limited. Even with a large population, poor organization and an unreasonable division of labor would prevent it from displaying its true strength.

Raging Fire itself was also far from complete. Fire-burning Wine Gu served as a suitable substitute, but it was not the ideal choice. Its effects became increasingly unstable with prolonged use, gradually affecting the minds of those under its influence. The Gu Lin Yan truly wanted was a Food Path Gu such as Hot Tea Gu. It could likewise refresh the mind and invigorate the spirit, yet its effects were far gentler and could be maintained for long periods. Unfortunately, his Food Path attainment was far too low to continue improving the killer move.

He also discovered another shortcoming. Raging Fire was best used through a Gu formation that enveloped the entire blessed land, allowing its effects to remain active the entire Day. Unfortunately, his Formation Path attainment was no better than his Food Path attainment, leaving that idea beyond his reach for now.

Even so, Lin Yan was quite satisfied with the results. Raging Fire still possessed considerable room for improvement, and the process of deducing it had brought him an unexpected reward.

Using Firelike Immortal Gu as the core once more, he successfully deduced another killer move: Invading Like Fire.

Unlike Raging Fire, Invading Like Fire completely abandoned Human Will Gu. Instead, it pushed the effects of Fire-burning Wine Gu to their extreme.

Anything struck by the killer move, whether humans, Variant Humans, beasts, or even plants, would be consumed by a frenzy. Fear vanished, pain became meaningless, and they would fight until the last drop of blood had been shed.

This was Lin Yan’s final trump card. If he were ever driven into a desperate situation, he could unleash Invading Like Fire across the entire blessed land, sending every desolate beast, desolate plant, beast group, vegetation, and Variant Human into a berserk frenzy. Faced with such an overwhelming tide, even a Rank Seven Gu Immortal would struggle to escape alive.
