Reverend Insanity: Dream Gu

A month later.

Rumble!

Deep within the Blazing Yellow Heaven Pit, Lin Yan, in his Crimson Virtue Form, extended one hand.

A colossal crimson Great Handprint descended from the sky. Its five fingers closed around a massive Molten Flame Scorpion before forcefully pulling it out of the ground.

The Desolate Scorpion struggled with all its might, sending towering waves of lava surging through the cave and shaking the entire underground. Yet no matter how violently it resisted, it could not break free.

In the end, it was dragged into Lin Yan’s immortal aperture and imprisoned within the Flame Sovereign Blessed Land.

Lin Yan let out a long breath and turned his gaze toward a nearby boulder the size of a millstone. The rock was crystal clear, radiating a warm jade-like luster. It was none other than the Rank 6 immortal material Scarlet Fire Marrow.

With a casual wave of his hand, he stored it inside his immortal aperture.

Molten Flame Scorpions possessed thick, heavy carapaces and spent their lives ramming into the surrounding rock walls. After countless years of friction and tempering, ordinary rocks gradually transformed into Scarlet Fire Marrow.

For that reason, Scarlet Fire Marrow could often be found near the nests of Molten Flame Scorpions.

Over the past month, including this Molten Flame Scorpion, Lin Yan had captured five Desolate Beasts and Desolate Plants one after another. He also collected more than ten types of Rank 6 Flame Path immortal materials, causing the foundation of his blessed land to grow at an astonishing pace.

He had marked these locations long ago while searching the Blazing Yellow Heaven Pit during his Immortal Gu refinement process.

A living Desolate Beast was worth around one hundred immortal essence stones. The more than ten types of Rank 6 Flame Path immortal materials were worth another three hundred or so. In just one month, he had gathered resources worth nearly eight hundred immortal essence stones, equivalent to years of painstakingly managing a blessed land.

As expected, plundering is the fastest way to accumulate wealth.

Lin Yan did not spend the past month gathering resources alone. His battle strength also continued to grow. He alternated between refining Immortal killer moves centered around multiple Immortal Gu and challenging the Desolate Beasts he had previously marked to temper his combat skills. After each battle, he rested for several days, reviewed his gains, and then sought out his next opponent, repeating the cycle over and over.

Meanwhile, his ultimate killer move, Crimson Virtue True Body, had undergone further refinement. Most of its flaws had been eliminated. The number of Gu worms required dropped from nearly a thousand to only a few hundred, its activation time returned to normal, and its immortal essence consumption fell from seven green grape immortal essence to just four per use.

As a result, capturing Desolate Beasts over the past month consumed very little immortal essence. Coupled with his overwhelming battle strength, he had spent only a little more than a dozen beads of green grape immortal essence in total. By the end of the month, he had naturally recovered far more immortal essence than he had expended.

Turning his attention to the Flame Sovereign Blessed Land, Lin Yan began examining its overall development.

Three years had already passed inside the blessed land. The third batch of beast groups and vegetation had gradually adapted to their environment, and the ecosystem had become increasingly stable.

Logically, the blessed land’s resource output should have continued to increase.

The reality, however, fell somewhat short of Lin Yan’s expectations. Most of the newly introduced beast groups and vegetation were still expanding their populations and restoring the ecosystem. Rather than generating stable income, they continued consuming resources.

Only after this stage of development was complete would the blessed land enter its true harvest period, and its income would begin to rise once again.

Even so, while Lin Yan had been hunting Desolate Beasts, the blessed land had quietly produced more than two hundred beads of green grape immortal essence.

At present, he possessed four hundred beads of green grape immortal essence and one thousand two hundred immortal essence stones.

His wealth could have been even greater, but he had no intention of selling the Desolate Beasts and immortal materials he had obtained over the past month.

Flame Path immortal materials were both rare and valuable. If he needed them to refine Immortal Gu in the future, buying them again would not be easy. Rather than exchange them for short-term gains, he chose to keep everything in reserve.

More importantly, some of these Desolate Beasts and Desolate Plants were indispensable for the future development of his blessed land and the feeding of his Immortal Gu.

Among the Desolate Beasts and Desolate Plants he had captured, two were particularly important because they could feed his Immortal Gu. One was the Lava Bird, which satisfied the feeding requirements of Fire Escape Immortal Gu. The other was the Dry Yang Fire Jujube Tree, which continuously produced Condensed Fire Resin, the primary food source of Transform Fire Immortal Gu.

As for the Molten Flame Scorpion he had just captured also had its own purpose. Although it was not the food of any Immortal Gu, Lin Yan released it into the northern Flame Desert of the Flame Sovereign Blessed Land. Its arrival greatly increased the Fire Scorpion population. As generations of Fire Scorpions lived and died, their bodies gradually accumulated into large quantities of fire oil, indirectly supplying the food required of Oil Flame Immortal Gu.

The two Desolate Beasts were exchanged in Treasure Yellow Heaven. One was traded for the Desolate Plant Attract Fire Immortal Bamboo, completing the food chain of another Immortal Gu.

The last one was traded for a complete Rank 5 Wisdom Path inheritance. From this moment onward, Lin Yan finally possessed the foundation to truly begin cultivating the Wisdom Path.
