A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 786: Chapter 786: Afraid She’ll Run Away!

Mu Yan looked at her with a face full of intrigue and understood her meaning.

Meeting Jiang Jingheng before entering the entertainment industry could still barely be called a proper boyfriend-girlfriend relationship.

But if they met after entering the entertainment industry, it would likely be labeled as advancing through hidden rules or a kept relationship.

She didn’t seem to have offended this aunt, but every word she uttered was aimed at her.

Mu Yan said, ”In my impression, Jing Heng and I met after I entered the entertainment industry.”

Zhuang Jiaoyang had been waiting for her to say that, not wanting to probe any deeper into what she really meant.

She sarcastically said, ”Our Zhuang Family has always been pure and clean, and we won’t tolerate anyone doing underhanded things.”

These words indeed reminded everyone present of the chaos in the entertainment industry, and instantly everyone’s gaze towards Jiang Jingheng changed.

Especially Zhuang Shaoyang, who was already displeased with this suddenly appearing son-in-law. Thinking that he might have bullied his daughter, he felt like dragging the person out for a beating.

He looked at Mu Yan and asked in a deep voice, ”Nuannuan, has he bullied you?”

Mu Yan frowned, not wanting to engage with him.

Averting her gaze, she saw Mrs. Zhuang looking worried.

She chuckled, ”Grandma, don’t misunderstand, it’s not like that. He’s not that kind of person, otherwise, why would he marry me?”

Mrs. Zhuang frowned. That’s what was said, but...

Jiang Jingheng said seriously, ”Yanyan didn’t explain it clearly just now. I indeed introduced Song Cheng’an to Yanyan. At that time, Yanyan hadn’t entered the entertainment industry yet, but she liked acting. I thought Song Cheng’an was reliable, so I entrusted Yanyan to him. Also, during that time, Yanyan and I were already married.”

”Well, your marriage is too hasty then,” Zhuang Jiaoyang said with a half-smile.

This was also what worried Mrs. Zhuang. Even if Jiang Jingheng was just an illegitimate child, he was still a Jiang. Saying that the marriage was not announced for the sake of Nuannuan’s acting career, but the deeper reason was likely that the Jiang Family wouldn’t agree.

So, knowing that the Jiang Family wouldn’t be happy, why did he still marry Nuannuan? Surely, he knew about Nuannuan’s background from the start?

When thinking about it this way, it seems to make sense, and all that’s left in this marriage is exploitation.

”I’ve wanted to marry Yanyan for a long time,” Jiang Jingheng said candidly, ”I knew her for a long time, but she didn’t know me back then.”

Mrs. Zhuang gave him a surprised look, really?

She looked at Mu Yan, who smiled lightly with closed lips, ”Grandma, it’s true.”

Ruan Xinyu, having the experience, glanced between the two and suddenly understood, ”Ah, young people, their affection is strong.”

Zhuang Yi watched Jiang Jingheng, vaguely recalling hearing Lu Hao and others mention that years ago Jing Heng had a secret crush on someone. That girl was especially good at painting sunflowers, so he plastered his room with sunflower images.

He looked at Mu Yan. Isn’t his cousin particularly skilled at painting sunflowers?

He was sitting right beside Jiang Jingheng and couldn’t resist patting his shoulder, ”So, the person you secretly loved all these years is our Nuannuan, huh? I was wondering why you suddenly got married. You were afraid she’d run off, so you hurried to label her as yours?”

Mu Yan blinked and looked at Jiang Jingheng.

No wonder the guy clung to her and found excuses to marry her back then; he was afraid she would run away.
