A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 775: Chapter 775: Box Office Exploded (2)

Mu Yan continued scrolling through the comments, about one in every five praised her.

It’s not that she had never heard compliments before, but each time she felt happy, as if the flowers she meticulously tended to had blossomed.

After dinner, back at the hotel, Mu Yan received congratulatory calls from friends in the industry.

This summer, before the release of ”Lone Eagle,” there weren’t any particularly explosive works, with the box office generally being average, and rarely over a hundred million on the first day of release.

Films like ”Lone Eagle,” with opening-day box office figures close to three hundred million, are rare outside of the Spring Festival period, where there might be one or two.

Mu Yan responded to each one, unable to calm her excitement. Since her return, her lips had been constantly curved upwards.

Jiang Jingheng, upon returning, boiled water, poured it, and fetched clothes for her.

After all was done, seeing her still engrossed in her phone, a trace of displeasure flashed in his eyes.

At this moment, she was completely absorbed in her own joy and had completely forgotten his presence, a feeling he wasn’t fond of.

So, he went straight over and took her phone away.

”After eating meat tonight, go have some water.”

Mu Yan snorted lightly, ”I’m not fat; I don’t need to break down protein.”

As she said this, she reached out to grab the phone back, but Jiang Jingheng wouldn’t give it to her.

The two of them fussed for a while, and Mu Yan calmed down, obediently going to drink some water.

”After drinking, take a bath and go to bed early. We have to head out early tomorrow,” Jiang Jingheng added.

Mu Yan, thinking about the appointment at the Zhuang Family tomorrow, lost all interest in browsing Weibo.

She took her pajamas and went to the bathroom.

Jiang Jingheng tossed her phone onto the bed and went to the balcony to clear away the gloom in his heart.

After her bath, Mu Yan found it hard to sleep. She wanted to stay up till midnight to check the full day’s box office results for the premiere, but Jiang Jingheng didn’t allow it and directly switched her phone off.

Having no choice, she closed her eyes and forced herself to sleep, eventually dozing off in no time.

The first thing she did when she woke up the next morning was check the box office.

Previously, she had a rather Zen attitude towards box office numbers, but this time they had exceeded her expectations.

Opening day box office: two hundred and eighty million.

Though it didn’t break three hundred million, this day’s box office had already matched the total box office of many other films.

After a night’s reflection, her demeanor was no longer as exuberant as yesterday.

However, Weibo was already abuzz.

”Lone Eagle 9.7 rating” quickly hit the top of the trending list. Known for its rigor, the platform’s certification meant the film was a high-quality piece.

In the comment section, almost every netizen was affirming ”Lone Eagle,” deeming it worth watching.

With such positive reviews, the film’s ticket sales could only continue to rise.

Soon after, Song Cheng’an called to congratulate her on the great start of her new film, joking that after such a hit, no one could afford to cast her as a supporting role anymore due to her skyrocketing fees.

After hanging up, Mu Yan checked the figures; today’s box office had already reached eighty million, promising a big surprise from this film.

After breakfast in the guest room, Mu Yan and Jiang Jingheng headed out and met Zhuang Yi waiting outside.

Seeing them with empty hands, he asked, ”Where’s the luggage? Did you send it down?”

”It’s in the room.”

”Why not take it with you?” Zhuang Yi inquired.

Mu Yan replied calmly, ”We’re staying at this hotel again tonight.”

Zhuang Yi frowned, realizing that going home wouldn’t feel right for her to stay at a hotel, but seeing her cold demeanor, he suddenly remembered she had amnesia.

Family members were almost like strangers to her, and normally no one would choose to stay with a group of strangers.

He felt a heaviness in his heart but ultimately nodded, knowing there would be time in the future for her to grow closer to them.
