Crossdressing To Survive An Apocalypse [BL]

Wang Xiao’s life had been nothing but boring.

He worked a nine-to-five desk job where everyone moved like robots, arriving at the same time every morning, sitting behind the same desks, staring at the same screens, and leaving as soon as the workday ended. By the time he returned home, he barely had enough energy left to speak to his family, let alone spend any real time with them. His young daughter would often try her best to get his attention, tugging at his clothes or calling for him, but most of the time he simply ignored her, too exhausted to do anything except sit down and rest.

He had never imagined that one ordinary morning would change everything.

That morning, Wang Xiao woke up expecting another uneventful day. He had been looking forward to nothing more than a cup of coffee before heading to work and spending another long day behind his desk. But as he stepped out of the bedroom, he heard a strange groaning sound coming from nearby.

He followed the sound and froze.

His wife was standing there, trembling violently, a knife clutched tightly in her hand as tears silently streamed down her face. Her breathing was uneven, and black veins had already begun spreading across her hand. They crawled beneath her skin, twisting upward toward her wrist and then continuing toward her face.

For a moment, Wang Xiao couldn’t understand what he was seeing.

Then panic took over.

”What happened to you?” he asked, rushing toward her.

His wife only cried harder. Her lips trembled as she tried to speak, and when the words finally came, they were barely more than a whisper.

”Someone bit me.”

Wang Xiao immediately wanted to take her to the hospital, but she refused to leave the house. She screamed that there were zombies outside, that they would kill them if they went out, and that they had to stay inside.

Zombies?

Wang Xiao had stared at her as though she had completely lost her mind. There was no such thing as zombies. What was she even talking about?

He had tried to calm her down, but the next thing he remembered was her lunging at him.

Her teeth sank into his neck.

Wang Xiao had screamed and shoved her away as hard as he could before stumbling down the hallway. He didn’t know what was happening anymore. His head was spinning, his body felt strangely hot, and fear had completely taken over his thoughts.

He ran toward his children’s bedroom.

His young daughter woke up when she heard the commotion. Still half asleep, she sat up in bed and looked toward him with confused eyes.

”Daddy… Daddy, what happened to you?”

Wang Xiao stared at her.

He could barely think. His vision was hazy, and his body no longer felt like his own. Yet beneath all that confusion, he could feel something else beginning to rise inside him.

Hunger.

A terrible, overwhelming hunger.

His daughter’s small body suddenly looked different to him. Her familiar scent filled the room, and for some horrifying reason, she no longer looked like his little girl.

She looked like the most delicious meal in the world.

Wang Xiao squeezed his eyes shut.

He didn’t want to remember what happened next.

He didn’t want to remember his daughter’s frightened voice, or the things he had done after that. He didn’t want to remember any of it.

Afterward, everything became a blur.

All he could remember was hunting.

Finding people.

Eating them.

Then becoming hungry again.

He would hunt again and again, devouring anyone unfortunate enough to cross his path, but no matter how much he consumed, the hunger never disappeared. Nothing ever satisfied it. There was always another craving gnawing at him, an endless emptiness that could never be filled.

For twenty years, Wang Xiao wandered far and wide.

He no longer knew where he was going or how much time had passed. Seasons changed around him, cities fell into ruin, and the world slowly became something almost unrecognizable. He simply wandered wherever his instincts carried him, following the scent of prey and feeding whenever the hunger became unbearable.

Eventually, he came to this forest.

He had settled beneath the trees, waiting patiently for his next prey to wander close enough for him to attack. Years of exposure to the elements had allowed nature to slowly consume what remained of his body. Moss began growing across his skin, vines winding around his limbs and digging their roots into his rotting flesh. Little by little, he became indistinguishable from the forest around him.

He had almost become a part of nature itself.

But even after twenty years, one thing had never changed.

That hunger remained.

It had never ceased.

It never did.

The sound of two men’s voices had woken him that day. They seemed to be talking to each other, their words reaching him through the haze of his consciousness, but Wang Xiao could barely make sense of what they were saying. There was only one thing he could focus on.

Hunger.

The terrible, endless hunger that clawed at his rotting stomach had returned, demanding to be fed. He wanted to eat again. He needed to eat again.

His body moved before his mind could even process what was happening. He charged toward the closest person and sank his teeth into him.

Warm, delicious blood flowed into his mouth and down his throat, spreading through his body and slowly soothing the emptiness that had tormented him for twenty years. The sensation was unlike anything he had ever experienced before.

It was like drinking cold water on the hottest day imaginable.

Refreshing.

Comforting.

Filling.

Wang Xiao froze.

It was actually filling.

For the first time in twenty years, the endless hunger inside him began to quiet. The gnawing emptiness that had never once disappeared was finally fading, leaving behind a strange sensation he had almost forgotten existed.

He was full.

The realization barely had time to settle before the other man pushed him away with some kind of power. Wang Xiao’s body was thrown backward, but strangely, he didn’t feel any pain. He simply stumbled and fell into a thick bush nearby, his body sinking into the tangled leaves and branches.

He remained there, too stunned to move.

Then he looked down at his hands.

Something was wrong.

His rotting fingers were changing.

Wang Xiao stared in horror as the decayed flesh slowly began to revitalize. The empty spaces where rot had eaten away at his body gradually filled in, new flesh spreading across his fingers and hands. The dead, withered skin became smooth again. The rotten flesh was disappearing, replaced by healthy skin that looked almost foreign to him.

He watched in disbelief as the changes continued.

Slowly.

His body was shifting into a different state, the decay that had consumed him for twenty years steadily retreating as his flesh returned to what it had once been.

Wang Xiao could only stare.

He raised his trembling hands in front of his face, barely able to believe what he was seeing.

He was...

Human.

He was human again.
