With the team assembled and ready to depart, Murong Shao led them through the winding corridors of the old prison, navigating their way towards the main base. Along the way, he explained the layout of the facility and briefed them on the potential dangers they might encounter outside.

As they approached the exit, Kyle felt a mixture of excitement and apprehension. This was the first time he would be venturing outside since arriving in this unfamiliar world. The thought of facing unknown dangers was both terrifying and exhilarating.

With a deep breath, Kyle steeled himself for what lay ahead. As the heavy metal doors of the prison slowly creaked open, revealing the desolate landscape beyond, he couldn’t help but feel a surge of adrenaline coursing through his veins.

Stepping out into the open air, Kyle squinted against the harsh sunlight, taking in his surroundings. The barren landscape stretched out before him, devoid of any signs of life except for the occasional rustling of the wind.

Murong Shao motioned for the team to move out, and they set off towards the main base, following a rugged path that cut through the rocky terrain. Every step forward brought them closer to their destination, but also heightened the sense of anticipation and unease.

As they journeyed onwards, Kyle couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched. He cast furtive glances over his shoulder, half-expecting to see the shadowy figures of the creatures lurking in the distance.

Despite the looming threat, Kyle pressed on, fueled by a sense of purpose and determination. He knew that they were embarking on a dangerous mission, but he was willing to risk it all to help Murong Shao’s friend and uncover the mysteries of this strange world.

As the hours passed and the sun began to dip below the horizon, they finally reached the main base. The imposing structure loomed before them, its sturdy walls providing a sense of security amidst the desolation of the surrounding landscape.

With a sense of relief, Kyle and the others made their way inside, greeted by the sight of bustling activity and the reassuring presence of familiar faces. Murong Shao wasted no time in leading them to where his friend was being held, eager to seek out the help they so desperately needed.

As they entered the room where Murong Shao’s friend lay, Kyle’s heart sank at the sight before him. The man appeared frail and emaciated, his body ravaged by the relentless consumption of the tree that had taken root within him.

Determined to find a solution, Kyle stepped forward, ready to offer whatever assistance he could. With the support of his newfound companions by his side, he knew that they would stop at nothing to help Murong Shao’s friend and unravel the mysteries of this strange and unforgiving world.

As Kyle approached the bed where Murong Shao’s friend lay, he could feel the weight of the situation pressing down on him. The man’s condition was dire, and Kyle knew that time was of the essence.

”Is he conscious?” Kyle asked, his voice barely above a whisper as he surveyed the man’s pale face.

Murong Shao shook his head. ”He drifts in and out of consciousness. The tree’s grip on him is relentless.”

Kaden knelt beside the bed, studying the man’s features with a furrowed brow. He could see the faint outline of the tree’s branches beneath the surface of the man’s skin, a haunting reminder of the power that threatened to consume him from within.

”We need to act fast, he is dying” Kyle said, his voice tinged with urgency. ”Do you have any medical supplies or equipment that we can use?”

Murong Shao nodded, motioning to a nearby table where an array of tools and instruments were laid out. ”We have everything we need here. But we’ve tried countless treatments and procedures, and nothing has been able to stop the tree’s growth.”

Kaden frowned, deep in thought as he considered their options. He knew that their task would not be easy, but he refused to give up without a fight.

”We need to find a way to weaken the tree’s hold on him,” Kyle said, his voice resolute. ”We need to cut off its source of nourishment.”

Murong Shao nodded in agreement, his expression grim. ”But how do we do that? The tree is deeply rooted within him, and any attempt to remove it could prove fatal.”

Kyle’s mind raced as he searched for a solution. He knew that they were running out of time, but he refused to let despair cloud his judgment.

”What if we find a way to disrupt the tree’s connection to his body?” Kyle suggested, his eyes alight with determination. ”If we can sever the link between the tree and his bloodstream, we might be able to weaken its hold on him.”

Murong Shao’s eyes widened in realization. ”That just might work. But we’ll need to proceed with caution. Any mistake could have dire consequences.”

Kyle nodded, his jaw set in determination. He knew that their task would not be easy, but he was prepared to do whatever it took to save Murong Shao’s friend.

With a sense of purpose driving them forward, Kyle and the others set to work, carefully devising a plan to weaken the tree’s hold on the man’s body. With each passing moment, the tension in the room grew palpable, the weight of their task bearing down on them like a heavy burden.

”I might need to sever a few of his nerves and see if it weakens the tree,” Kaden gazed up. ”Is that okay with you?”

As murong Shao was about to answer the door banged open and a dirty blond guy ran in. ”No don’t you dare touch him....”
