My Twin Dao Companions Are Reincarnated Empresses

Back at his residence, or palace, to be more accurate, Gu Yuan spent the next ten days in peace. With only three days remaining until the wedding, guests finally began to arrive.

Ruxi, the Ji Clan maid, stayed at his side as he received people he didn’t know, all of whom came to offer good wishes and gifts.

Some came from the Yunhai Continent, while others came from the Canglan Continent. Gu Yuan recognized few of them, and he suspected he would never see most of them again after the wedding, but he still received everyone with due courtesy.

Things proceeded smoothly until a familiar guest made his appearance.

Both Gu Yuan and the newcomer were surprised to see each other.

Gu Yuan quietly appraised the man.

[Threads of Providence]

Name: Yunshan

Age: 1156

Cultivation: Embryo Realm, Sixth Stage

Spiritual Root: Triple Root (Top Grade)

Providence: Medium (Low) 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

Special Note: Yunshan, Sect Master of the Azure Cloud Sect, is known for his cautious nature and unpredictable decisions. Following the recent war, he was forced to pledge allegiance to the Black Desolation Sect along with his sect. He has personally come to offer his blessings to the Heavenly Twin Stars on their upcoming marriage.

After reading Yunshan’s information, Gu Yuan immediately realized that he had been deceived the last time they met.

Perhaps I should be relieved that he has such an eccentric personality?

Gu Yuan remembered their previous encounter, back when the Black Desolation Sect was still fighting other sects. At the time, Gu Yuan had only just broken through to the Golden Core Realm, while Yunshan had already reached the Embryo Realm.

”Brother Yunshan, you, an ordinary disciple of the Azure Cloud Sect, came all this way to congratulate me on my marriage?” Gu Yuan asked with a smile.

”Haha, of course! I thought you were a disciple of the Silent Valley Sect, though. It seems I was mistaken.” Yunshan replied without the slightest hint of embarrassment.

Gu Yuan shook his head and corrected him solemnly. ”Brother Yunshan, haven’t you heard? It’s no longer the Silent Valley Sect. It’s Silent Valley Peak. Naturally, my affiliation might appear to have changed.”

Yunshan was momentarily stunned by his shameless reply. He shook his head and cupped his hands.

”I’ve learned something new today, Brother Gu.”

”Haha, there’s no need to be so polite, Sect Master Yunshan.”

Both men laughed, and their conversation continued in the same lighthearted manner. After presenting his gift, Yunshan took his leave.

It wasn’t long before another familiar pair of guests arrived.

Princess Wei Ruyan had come with Zhou Yucheng.

Zhou Yucheng clearly had little interest in meeting the groom of the Heavenly Twin Stars. He was merely accompanying the princess. However, the moment his eyes met Gu Yuan’s, his attitude changed.

”Greetings, Senior Brother,” Gu Yuan said, his voice carrying a hint of amusement. ”It’s been a long time since we last met.”

”Yes...” Zhou Yucheng hesitated before adding, ”Thank you for what you did back then.”

”I hope you achieve your goal.” Gu Yuan nodded. He was somewhat curious about how this Senior Brother’s love life had turned out, but he decided to look into it another time.

For now, he exchanged a few pleasantries with Princess Wei Ruyan, who clearly held a grudge against the twins, and by extension against him, but tried to hide it. Then he welcomed the next guest.

The following day, visitors from the Yin-Yang Dao Sect arrived.

Yan Shuo, the talented cultivator Gu Yuan had encountered in the Outer Sect, looked at him with undisguised surprise. Gu Yuan, however, paid more attention to the old woman accompanying him.

Among all the people he had met recently, she was the one whose presence he found most unfathomable.

Curious, Gu Yuan appraised her.

[Threads of Providence]

Name: Lianxin

Age: 64301

Cultivation: Severing Realm, Eighth Stage

Spiritual Root: Ice and Fire Root (Earth Grade)

Providence: Medium (Low)

Special Note: Lianxin, the Great Elder of the Yin-Yang Dao Sect. She had long since been ready to ascend, yet continued to delay her ascension to guide and protect the sect’s Saint Disciple, Yan Shuo. She had personally accompanied him to the Canglan Continent to attend the wedding of the Ji Clan’s Little Tyrants.

Wow, Gu Yuan exclaimed silently as he read, though he kept his expression composed while observing the old woman.

Severing Realm, Eighth Stage. Among everyone he had met recently, she was undoubtedly the strongest. Yet even someone of her cultivation couldn’t detect him using Threads of Providence.

It was another reminder of just how extraordinary the Orb of Creation was. No, perhaps it was also a testament to the uniqueness of the twins.

”I’ve lived for tens of thousands of years and encountered countless geniuses. Yet I’ve never met two young women quite like them.”

”And to think they both chose the same man...” The old woman smiled faintly. ”You must have something special about you.”

”Senior praises me too highly.” Gu Yuan responded with the politeness her status deserved. After exchanging a few additional words with Elder Lianxin and Yan Shuo, he saw the two guests off.

Next came his noisy acquaintance. ”Brother Gu! Seeing how busy you are dealing with all these guests, I couldn’t just sit back and watch. So, I’ve come to lend you a hand!”

Lin Hao announced himself with his usual enthusiasm, bringing his four Dao Companions along with him. After presenting his gift, he immediately began moving around. Gu Yuan didn’t mind, and let him build the connections he wanted.

Perhaps luck wasn’t on his side. Or perhaps Gu Yuan was destined to meet everyone he knew today. The next guest was Mo Chen.

”Junior Brother? It’s really you?” Mo Chen’s exaggeration couldn’t have been more obvious.

Gu Yuan treated him as he had the other guests, and fortunately the man didn’t linger before leaving.

Curious about the gift, Gu Yuan opened the box Mo Chen had left, and inside, sitting quietly, lay the Earth Grade sword forged by Peak Master Tie Shan.

The very sword forged using human blood, the same weapon Mo Chen had once suggested giving him, only for Gu Yuan to refuse it.

In the end, the sword really had fallen into his hands. Gu Yuan sighed, once again confirming his belief that Mo Chen was hard to deal with.

Guests kept arriving, and Gu Yuan had no time to rest. Even Jian Wushuang, the genius disciple of the Heavenly Sword Sect, made an appearance together with his elder.

On the last day, Deacon Zhao, whom he had invited but had begun to suspect wouldn’t come, finally appeared too.

”Honestly, I wavered the whole way here. Should I come? Would I even see you? I don’t know what I was hoping for, deep down. But now that I’m looking at you, I know the only thing I want is to wish you happiness.”

He presented his gift and cupped his hands.

”Congratulations on your wedding. May you and the Heavenly Twin Stars enjoy ten thousand years of happiness.”

Ten thousand years? That was hardly enough. He intended to live alongside the twins for as long as the heavens and earth endured, or maybe even more, so the blessing felt a little too modest for his liking.

With the last of his familiar guests seen off, the days of receiving visitors finally came to an end. Time passed, and before long, the wedding day arrived.

Dressed in his red groom’s gown, Gu Yuan stood ready to begin the wedding procession.
