My Twin Dao Companions Are Reincarnated Empresses

After forging the choker, Gu Yuan wanted to see the twins even more than before.

But another year passed, and their location still hadn’t changed.

If he couldn’t sense that they were safe through the mark on his neck, he would have thought something had happened to them. It had already been a long time since they entered that secret realm, after all.

But they were safe.

Maybe he should go do a sect mission? By the time he is done with it, they might have already come out.

With that thought, Gu Yuan, who had already reached the Fifth Stage of the Golden Core Realm, left his cave abode and headed toward the Mission Hall.

He had just arrived when someone called out to him.

”Brother Gu?”

It was Lin Hao.

Gu Yuan calmly greeted him as he glanced behind Lin Hao.

There used to be only three women.

Now there were four.

”I thought you had defected from the sect,” Lin Hao said with a chuckle. ”Why have I never seen you around?”

Are you trying to cause me trouble? Is that it?

Gu Yuan was exasperated inwardly as he felt the gazes around them.

He remained calm on the outside, however, and replied, ”I mostly stay in seclusion in my cave abode.”

”Where is it? Let me go and visit you from time to time.”

Is it really alright to tell Lin Hao where he live?

Gu Yuan hesitated for a moment. He had a feeling that letting Lin Hao know the location of his cave abode could invite troubles he was better without.

Despite that, he eventually told him where it was.

”Is that really where you live?” Lin Hao asked, his tone sounding a little strange.

”Yes. Is there a problem?”

”No, it’s fine.”

Gu Yuan exchanged a few more words with Lin Hao before moving over to a disciple working in the Mission Hall to accept a mission.

”Demonic Beast Garden?”

Gu Yuan’s voice carried a hint of surprise.

First he had encountered Lin Hao, and now the only mission currently available in the sect was in the Demonic Beast Garden.

What kind of coincidence is this?

Gu Yuan shook his head, accepted the mission, and made his way toward the Demonic Beast Garden.

This time, the mission wasn’t about guarding the place. It was about killing demonic beasts.

Apparently, after the sect master had used the Black Desolation during his battle with the twins thirteen years ago, the demonic beasts in the Demonic Beast Garden had been affected by the intense bloodlust from back then and had become much more ferocious.

The sect had tried to resolve the problem for a long time, but instead of improving, the situation had continued to deteriorate. Managing the Demonic Beast Garden had consequently become much more difficult.

In the end, the sect had decided to reduce the number of demonic beasts directly.

Gu Yuan arrived at the Demonic Beast Garden. The sky was even darker than he remembered, while a heavy atmosphere seemed to envelop the entire place. The roars and screams of demonic beasts constantly echoed through the secret realm, creating an oppressive feeling that made the entire place seem far more dangerous than before.

It was actually a little scary.

Fortunately, he had been given a special emergency talisman. If things became too dangerous, tearing it would immediately send him outside the Demonic Beast Garden.

Even so, he quickly headed toward the gathering point for his assigned team.

There were supposed to be five people in the team, but only two had arrived so far.

”Greetings, Senior Brothers.”

Neither of them replied.

Both disciples seemed to be the quieter type, so Gu Yuan found a place nearby and silently waited for the remaining team members.

Naturally, he didn’t simply sit around. Instead, he used his Threads of Providence ability in the meantime.

He started with the more problematic-looking disciple, the one who might be hiding his cultivation.

[Threads of Providence]

Name: Su Leishan

Age: 150

Cultivation: Golden Core Realm, Ninth Stage

Spiritual Root: Wind Root (First Grade)

Providence: Ordinary

Special Note: Su Leishan, a cultivator under the Wei Royal family. He has been undercover in the Black Desolation Sect for more than a hundred years. His current mission is to determine the condition of the Heavenly Twin Stars, and the lack of information has left him troubled.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

As he thought, Su Leishan was indeed hiding his cultivation. He displayed only the fourth stage of Golden Core, yet his actual cultivation sat at the Ninth Stage.

So, that wasn’t surprising.

Rather, it was the fact that he was a spy that surprised Gu Yuan more.

How many spies had he come across since entering the sect? Wasn’t this too much?

Gu Yuan sighed before looking at the other disciple.

[Threads of Providence]

Name: Zhou Yucheng

Age: 110

Cultivation: Golden Core Realm, Ninth Stage

Spiritual Root: Mixed Five Elements Root (Second Grade)

Providence: Extraordinary

Special Note: Zhou Yucheng, a personal disciple of Peak Master Shen Lian. He entered the Black Desolation Sect to cultivate, then pursue Princess Wei Ruyan. He is walking the blood path to raise his cultivation before seeking her out again. Currently he is under a special mission.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Now, what was this?

A weaker Spiritual Root, a younger age, and the same cultivation as Su Leishan?

Actually, how had he even entered the sect with a Mixed Five Elements Root? It was practically the worst kind of Spiritual Root possible.

Gu Yuan pondered for a moment when the remaining two members of the team finally made their appearance.

Among them was a familiar face: Ye Chen.

He had reached the Ninth Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm, two stages higher than Gu Yuan’s displayed cultivation.

Of the five people in their group, he was the second weakest based on displayed cultivation, with Gu Yuan being the weakest. Even so, his arrogant bearing hadn’t changed in the slightest.

”Okay, now that everyone is gathered, let’s start cleaning the Demonic Beast Garden.”

Zhou Yucheng said this without bothering to explain anything, such as their plan or anything else. Just like that, the group of five began their hunt.

They didn’t kill every Demonic Beast they came across, though. They only killed the more ferocious ones.

How did they determine which ones were dangerous?

It was through a mark on the Demonic Beasts.

If the mark was still there, it meant they had not broken through the restriction placed by Myriad Beast Peak, and they were not to be killed.

If the mark had been erased, however, it meant the Demonic Beast had broken through the restriction.

Those were the ones they could kill.

Moving with the group of five, Gu Yuan watched Zhou Yucheng easily deal with most of the Demonic Beasts alone. Most of the time, the others only needed to interfere when one managed to slip past him.

Will the mission continue like this? Gu Yuan hoped so.
