Chapter 236: Chapter 211: Mutant Tyrannosaurus

”Brother, how did it go?” Qin Ziwu’s eyes were full of expectation.

Qin Ziwen mulled it over for a moment before revealing his missions.

When he heard his brother’s three missions, Qin Ziwu was stunned. ’Why do they feel completely different from Instructor Du’s?’

If Instructor Du was a warrior charging into the fray, then his brother’s missions were designed to make him a Leader.

It was just that the Third Gear mission was a little strange. Master... ’How did he suddenly become some sort of animal keeper?’

Qin Ziwu said with a grin, ”But even though the title is a little weird, it should be pretty easy to complete. Hasn’t the Beaked Eagle already broken through to the Extraordinary realm?”

”The Beaked Eagle doesn’t count,” Qin Ziwen said, looking west. ”I’m going to head back to the Gated Community to check on things first.”

Animals hatched in the Giant Beast Breeding Center grow larger than their natural counterparts, and there’s also a small chance of a benign mutation.

He just didn’t know how much of a size difference there would be between a Tyrannosaurus hatched here and a normal one.

The two Tyrannosaurs currently hunting in the Oasis both weighed between 18 and 22 tons.

That was still a huge gap from eighty tons. Even with a mutation, it wasn’t guaranteed to shoot up in size.

...

He rode the Beaked Eagle back to the Home.

Qin Ziwen prepared to check on the hatching progress of the Tyrannosaurus egg.

While an ordinary Adult Tyrannosaurus wouldn’t meet the requirements, one hatched in the Giant Beast Breeding Center would be larger than others of its kind.

As everyone knows, in the natural world, as volume increases, every meter of growth leads to an exponential increase in weight.

Qin Ziwen first took out a Card and used the [Enhancement Card: Beast Spirit] on the Giant Beast Breeding Center.

Then he walked into the center. He stopped in his tracks the moment he stepped inside.

In a distant bush on the first floor, he thought he saw a dark shadow scurry past.

He glanced back at the door.

’If I remember correctly, I made a point of closing the door when I left last time.’

This was his Home; it was impossible for wild animals to get in.

And no one else could enter without his permission.

So,

there was only one explanation.

He walked over to the bushes deeper inside the first floor.

Sensing his approach, a RUSTLING sound came from the bushes near a small tree in the back.

A moment later, a small, pitch-black head poked out from the foliage, its large, agate-red eyes staring at him without blinking.

Qin Ziwen’s eyes lit up. He crouched down and clapped his hands.

The little creature seemed wary of strangers. It pulled its head back and peeked at him secretly through the tiny gaps between the leaves.

”Tsk tsk tsk,” Qin Ziwen made a few coaxing clicks.

Seeing that he meant no harm, the creature boldly emerged from the bushes.

This time, he finally got a clear look at the little one.

It was entirely ink-black, as if it could devour light itself.

Its eyes were blood-red, and it wasn’t very big—only slightly larger than a free-range hen from the countryside.

Its head was a little large, making its body seem somewhat small by comparison. He reached out, wanting to pat its head.

This newly hatched Little Tyrannosaurus wasn’t afraid of him and let out a small cry.

Then it came right up to him, bumping its head against his knee and making a soft, sweet sound.

”Gurgle gurgle.”

As it gurgled, it opened its mouth and gently nibbled on his fingers.

”Are you hungry?” Qin Ziwen mused, looking around. ”Did you hatch first? Where are your brothers and sisters?”

”Gurgle gurgle,” the Little Tyrannosaurus let out an unintelligible cry.

”I’ll take you upstairs to have a look.” He stood up, picked up the little dinosaur, and headed upstairs.

Upstairs, a brownish-purple egg with cream-colored spots still lay in the sunlit incubation area. Nearby, however, the ground was littered with black eggshell fragments. There were bite marks on the pieces, and not many of them were left.

”Looks like you came out much earlier.” After gently teasing it, Qin Ziwen carried the Little Tyrannosaurus out.

”Liangcai, go get me some fresh meat. If there’s no fresh meat, plain air-dried meat will do. Nothing smoked,” Qin Ziwen instructed.

”Yes, my lord.” Jia Liangcai quickly departed. A moment later, he returned personally, carrying two large strips of meat.

Jia Liangcai said in a low voice, ”My lord, this is fresh meat I traded for with the others.”

Qin Ziwen took a strip of meat and placed it at the Little Tyrannosaurus’s mouth. The little creature wasn’t picky, gobbling down the entire piece.

”Don’t rush, there’s more.” Qin Ziwen gently patted its back.

As if influenced by his calm demeanor, the Little Tyrannosaurus gradually settled down. It stopped eating so quickly, its tiny, sharp teeth working hard to tear at the meat.

It ate with great effort and concentration.

”You’re pitch-black, so I’ll call you Black.”

The Little Tyrannosaurus, which was squatting on the ground with its back to him while eating, wagged its tail. Qin Ziwen was amused. ’The little guy actually responded.’

He summoned the Home, then thought to himself, ’Help me deduce the maximum size of this Tyrannosaurus.’

[Deducing... Deduction complete.]

[Maximum weight for this mutated Tyrannosaurus is 55 tons.]

Qin Ziwen was astonished, but a moment later, he felt a twinge of regret.

He was astonished that the Little Tyrannosaurus’s potential was quite high, with a maximum weight of 55 tons.

That was more than double the weight of a normal Tyrannosaurus. He did a quick proportional calculation; its body length would be about 1.4 times the original.

Based on a normal Tyrannosaurus’s length of 18 meters, Black should be able to grow to 25.2 meters long.

Unfortunately, the body structure of a Tyrannosaurus limited its maximum weight. If it were a sturdier beast of the same length, it might have had a chance at breaking the 80-ton mark.

Since the Tyrannosaurus wouldn’t work, what about the other large animals in the Oasis? For instance, the Zungar Rhinoceros. A normal specimen was already larger than a normal Tyrannosaurus. Perhaps after being raised in the Giant Beast Breeding Center, a Zungar Rhinoceros would have a chance.

If the Zungar Rhinoceros also failed, then he would try to find a Giant Rock Dragon and see if it had any young. Or, he could wait for the next map and look for a baby whale in the sea.

He just didn’t know if he failed the mission this time, would the same three missions appear the next time he activated a Breakthrough Card.

His mind filled with these thoughts, Qin Ziwen walked off in another direction.

He had only taken a few steps when he ran into Wei Zhaohua.

”President! President! I think I’ve figured out what this plant is used for!” Wei Zhaohua exclaimed, running over excitedly while holding a purple fruit.

”What use?”

Wei Zhaohua trotted over. ”It’s related to this fruit. I’ve been testing it for the past few days. The leaves and bark are useless, but the fruit affects both animals and humans. Its effect, after being eaten, is to promote a second stage of physical development!”

Qin Ziwen stopped dead in his tracks. He looked at Wei Zhaohua. He wasn’t sure if it was just his imagination, but he had a feeling that Wei Zhaohua seemed taller.

”You... used yourself as a test subject?”

Wei Zhaohua said nonchalantly, ”Don’t worry, President. I tested it on animals first. Only after confirming it wasn’t poisonous did I eat it myself to verify the effects. It’s only been one day. After just one night, I felt like my clothes were a size too small. This fruit should be able to trigger a second stage of physical development.”
