My Community Transmigrated Again

Chapter 221: Chapter 197: Igniting Fire

Humans have been using javelins for longer than bows and arrows; they were the weapons of primitive people fighting wild beasts.

To this day, some tribes in Africa still use javelins to hunt lions and elephants.

Javelins were therefore easy to get the hang of. As the group threw their weapons, several of the Giant Hyenas at the front were pierced, leaving large holes in their bodies. Some of the long spears were even still stuck in them.

Some of the Giant Hyenas fled, but others chose to fight back.

Du Yu swept his long spear, smashing the nose of the closest charging Giant Hyena. It let out a mournful howl and fell to the ground.

Beside him, Qin Ziwu led a few people to surround it, thrusting with their long spears and aiming for its vitals—the neck, heart, and head.

After a few rounds of thrusts, the Giant Hyena’s struggles grew weaker and weaker.

In this oasis, this pack of Giant Hyenas wasn’t exactly at the top of the food chain, but they were a force of predators not to be underestimated.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been able to occupy a spot by the lake.

But under the humans’ encirclement, they were gradually cut down and slaughtered, ultimately leaving a field of corpses behind.

The commotion attracted the attention of many nearby animals. Some chose to stay far away from the humans, while others stood their ground, their eyes remaining vigilant.

[Completed Hunting Celestial List Level 1 Task: Hunt 10 Adult Giant Hyenas]

[Reward Obtained: 1x Level 1 Building Card, 1 Point]

He took out the Level 1 Building Card. It was a Level 1 Pier.

’Looks like the drop rates from the card pool are starting to be related to the next map.’

’Though I have no idea what use a pier will be in our Home.’

As the battle ended, everyone began to clean up the battlefield.

At the same time, having secured the lakeside location, they pushed their carts over and started filling them with water. Once the carts were full, the first water delivery team began their journey back.

「Riverside Gated Community.」

The Beaked Eagle returned from overhead, descending past the balcony and into the Home.

Jia Liangcai hurried over at the news and removed the envelope tied to the Beaked Eagle’s leg.

He quickly read the contents and began giving orders in a methodical manner.

The various supplies Qin Ziwen needed were gathered.

Gasoline, new model Car-Mounted Crossbows, improved powerful Beast Traps... All were brought out one by one.

Meanwhile, newly crafted long spears and new sets of Sand Worm Armor were stacked to the side.

After a while, in the central area of the Home, an oval screen of light, like a door opened from the void, coalesced into form.

”Quick!” Jia Liangcai shouted urgently.

”Hurry up! Move the things the Lord needs through!”

Liu San, Li Tieshan, Shi Hu, and the others stared wide-eyed, curiously gazing at the magical Teleportation Gate before them.

Zhang Meng asked, ”Is this how we get over there?”

...

”Yes, they’re coming from the other side.”

Qin Ziwen stood before the blue teleportation Node.

Behind him, the many ordinary members of the Qin Alliance stared dumbfounded at the Node.

”It’s a bit like a teleportation gate from a video game.”

”Leader, can we go straight back through this Node?” someone boldly asked.

”It’s one-way only. You can’t travel back and forth through the Node,” Qin Ziwen said, shaking his head.

Hearing this, many people looked disappointed.

At that moment, the other side of the Light Gate rippled, and some people’s spirits lifted.

First came a sharp beak, followed by a large body. The Beaked Eagle was the first to step out from the other side of the Node.

Then, a sharp arrowhead emerged. A Car-Mounted Crossbow was pushed through from the other side, but it seemed to get stuck halfway, as if the person pushing had run out of strength.

Qin Ziwu and Cao Biansheng quickly went forward, grabbed the wheels, and pulled the Car-Mounted Crossbow the rest of the way through.

Repeating this process, they brought over a total of six Car-Mounted Crossbows!

On top of the Crossbow Wagons were large, white, sealed barrels.

Standing in the crowd, Jin Hao was stunned. ”No wonder they didn’t bring the Car-Mounted Crossbows at first. So there was a way like this.”

Next, a bundle of long spears tied with hemp rope poked through from the other side of the Node.

Yuan Ming went forward and grabbed it. It was a bit heavy, and he had to put some effort into pulling it through.

Finally, Zhang Meng emerged from the Node, carrying several sets of Sand Worm Armor.

Eight sets in total.

Once everything had been transported, Qin Ziwen closed the Node.

”Alright, Du Yu, take these things and distribute them.”

”Yes, sir.”

”Zhang Meng, you will join the team for now. For the next few days, you’ll participate in our operations.”

”Yes, Lord.”

”Wang Yun, the barrels on the Car-Mounted Crossbows are full of gasoline. Take them all down. Be careful not to spill any.”

Seeing that Qin Ziwen had brought back so much from just one trip, He Biao’s eyes widened.

’Long spears and white leather armor, fine.’

’I can even accept these barrels of gasoline.’

’But how did you just conjure up these six Car-Mounted Crossbows?’

’The Gated Community is dozens of kilometers away from here!’

But He Biao was smart. He knew not to ask about things he wasn’t supposed to.

A single shot from one of those Car-Mounted Crossbows would make even the toughest dinosaur cry out in pain.

”Lord, these Car-Mounted Crossbows seem different from the ones before,” Yang Cunshen said, standing beside one of them.

These new Car-Mounted Crossbows were indeed different. Not only were they a size larger, but the color of the crossbow arms also looked distinct.

Qin Ziwen explained, ”These are improved Car-Mounted Crossbows. They’re more powerful than the previous ones, but we haven’t tested their exact stats yet.”

Before he left, this thing was just a conceptual product still in the research phase.

He hadn’t expected them to be so efficient, producing a finished product in just over a day.

”Why don’t we find a target and test it out?” Cao Biansheng asked, eager to try.

Qin Ziwen looked out at the oasis, scanning the area, but couldn’t find a suitable target.

The larger Giant Beasts were almost all herd animals.

Herd animals were unsuitable targets. They had too few Crossbow Wagons. If they angered a herd and it charged them, six Crossbow Wagons wouldn’t be enough.

It was best to find a large, solitary prey with some size to it.

He shook his head immediately. ”Let’s wait and see. We don’t have many Crossbow Arrows for these new wagons, so we have to use them sparingly.”

Besides, now that they had all the necessary tools, they could probably start preparing for the Beaked Eagle’s Extraordinary limit challenge.

But before they began, they needed to wait for the right moment.

Qin Ziwen first gave an empty gasoline barrel to the Beaked Eagle, having it practice the motion of dropping gasoline from the sky.

At the same time, figuring out how to drop a firestarter from the sky and have it land precisely in a pool of gasoline was also a skillful task.

Fortunately, the Beaked Eagle had already received some basic training in this area, so it learned quickly.

A day later, the opportune moment finally arrived.

From the top of the eastern slope, the Tyrannosaurs came to the oasis again. With its arrival, the residents of the oasis tensed up.

They prayed they wouldn’t become the Tyrannosaurs’ next target.

By the lake, the flock of Duck-billed Beasts silently formed a circle.

The strongest of the Duck-billed Beasts stood on the outside, its massive body like a silent hill.

The Tyrannosaurs glanced at it and moved past.

With plenty of food available, it had no desire to provoke these behemoths.

Just then, the Beaked Eagle flew overhead, carrying a gasoline barrel.
