Divine Emperor of Heavenly Destiny

In an instant, it was as if dozens of people appeared from all directions above Lu Chao, each one radiating killing intent.

For Lu Chao to charge in alone like this was a disgrace to them all.

In response, Lu Chao didn’t even raise his head. ”Fire Sparrow, Dance!”

SCREEE...

The long spear in his hand unleashed a swirling torrent of fire, its cry like that of a piercing Fire Sparrow.

A crescent of flames swept toward the sky, instantly blasting away the attackers descending from above with the Half Moon Fire Sparrow Dance.

With so many of them, they crashed into one another...

In an instant, everyone who had lunged for Lu Chao was sent flying back, crashing to the ground.

Yet Lu Chao, still gripping his spear, continued to stride forward, his battle intent exploding to its peak.

Lu Chao was thrilled. ’How long has it been since I’ve felt like this?’

’How long has it been since I charged into an enemy host alone? And all of them are Innate Realm or higher.’

His long spear continued its horizontal sweep. Wherever it passed, no one could stand in his way!

Senior Sister Sky Cliff and the others, who had already slipped into position above, could only stare dumbfounded at the scene, their minds reeling.

’He’s too strong! One man fighting a thousand Innate Realm cultivators!’

”Senior Sister, when Fake Lu Chao said he’d reach the finish line alone... did he mean he was going to fight his way there by himself?”

”Didn’t we think he was just going to use some speed or movement technique to slip past the blockaders when they weren’t looking?”

Everyone from Sky Cliff Academy had previously assumed Lu Chao had some incredible movement technique that would let him slip past the twenty other institutes to reach the finish line. But what they were seeing now was...

He was just steamrolling his way through.

The corner of Senior Sister Sky Cliff’s mouth twitched. She couldn’t answer; she was simply too shocked.

「At the same time...」

In the air, Marquis Longyin had forgotten to drink, staring blankly at the scene before him.

The Order Enforcement Team Members blinked. ”My lord,” one asked, ”are you sure he’s a Military Genius and not some peerless general?”

All the Order Enforcement Team Members were stunned by Lu Chao. To charge into the enemy ranks all alone like that... he was a peerless general, no doubt about it.

Their words snapped Marquis Longyin back to his senses.

He didn’t answer, instead looking toward Li Wumian and the others. Marquis Longyin suddenly declared, ”Notify all members to assemble at once. I’m going to block Li Wumian’s group and stop those seven from interfering with the battle.”

As soon as he spoke, Marquis Longyin’s subordinates reacted, quickly sending out the message.

「At the finish line of the first trial...」

The students from the various institutes who had obediently compromised and handed over their Weapons and Elixir Pills stared in shock at the massive brawl that had suddenly erupted before the finish line. The sheer number of people involved made it impossible for them to see clearly.

The area before the finish line was just a relatively wide mountain path.

With about a thousand people from twenty institutes crammed onto the path, it was naturally impossible to see what was happening at the front.

”It must be Sky Cliff Academy and the others. They refused to give in and organized the Small Institutes behind them to fight the blockaders.”

”It’s useless. Even if all of us from the Small Institutes banded together, there’s no way we could beat the twenty blockading institutes. They’re just courting death. It would’ve been so much better to just obediently hand over their Weapons.”

”Yeah. That way, we could at least join the Beast Flame institutes as individuals.”

Having already compromised, these few Small Institutes naturally lacked spine. Furthermore, they certainly didn’t want Sky Cliff Academy and the others to win—if they did, what would that make the ones who had given in?

Just as the compromisers were talking, footsteps sounded from behind them...

They saw seven vice deans of the Inner Courtyard, led by Li Wumian, striding over. Li Wumian spoke first. ”Are the resistors trying to break through? A bunch of brainless trash, completely oblivious to their own lack of strength.”

He, too, was unable to clearly see the state of the battle for the time being...

But since no new compromisers had arrived at the finish line for the first trial, he naturally understood that some were trying to resist.

As far as Li Wumian was concerned, it was just a bunch of fools making a useless effort.

But just as his voice faded, the vice dean of Lion Flame Academy suddenly spoke up, ”No, that’s not right. It’s one person forcing their way through.”

Everyone at the finish line was startled by this, and several of the vice deans quickly extended their senses to investigate.

But Li Wumian just sneered. ”Impossible. Who would be stupid enough to charge one thousand people alone?”

Among the seven vice deans, Li Wumian, being a Medical Dao Master, had the weakest Martial Arts Realm, only at the Transformation Realm Peak.

Therefore, he couldn’t perceive the situation before the finish line at all. In any case, he simply refused to believe it.

However, Vice Dean Leopard Flame quickly said, ”But it’s true! Someone is fighting their way through single-handedly. Who is that ferocious?”

Just as his voice fell... VWOOM!

A flash of spear light suddenly erupted from the crowd on the path, looking as if it would crash right through to the finish line.

Then the seven vice deans and the hundred or so compromisers saw...

Amidst the blockading students, a masked man, like the personification of a charging spear, was sweeping forward with frenzied momentum.

Gripping his spear, he relentlessly advanced, continuously sweeping aside anyone who dared to block his path.

Wherever the long spear passed, the True Qi of the blockading students was shattered.

Amid the chaos, people were still crashing into one another. The students from the twenty institutes were in complete disarray, and all their True Qi was a chaotic mess.

From behind the masked man, all sorts of voices could be heard...

”Don’t block me! Get the hell out of my way, damn it!”

”You bastards! Either stop that damned Fake Lu Chao or get out of the way!”

”Ow! Who hit me?”

”Sorry, Senior Brother from Weihu Academy! I attacked the wrong way. I don’t know who bumped into me.”

Such were the voices that defined the current state of the battle: utter chaos!

With Lu Chao’s frenzied assault, the students of the twenty institutes became a tangled mess. The mountain path wasn’t wide enough, every student from every institute had their own selfish motives, and most had never faced a true life-or-death battle...

It instantly devolved into a chaotic free-for-all, with many accidentally attacking their own allies.

To put it bluntly, they were nothing but a disorderly mob.

This made it even easier for Lu Chao to break through their ranks, which was why Li Wumian and the others could now see the masked man fighting his way out.

Li Wumian finally believed it. It really was one man charging against a thousand.

He glowered at Lu Chao, hissing with rage, ”Damn it, it’s this Fake Lu Chao again.”

Vice Dean Leopard Flame, however, said, ”So strong. This Fake Lu Chao is incredibly ferocious, to think he charged through all by himself.”

”You’re overestimating him. He’s just taking advantage of the fact that the twenty institutes aren’t a unified force and lack a true leader,” the vice dean from Tiger Flame, a man surnamed Zhong, said with a look of disdain.

Vice Dean Wolf Flame also said coldly, ”Let him charge. What’s the use of him reaching the finish line alone?”

Of course, the seven vice deans had no intention of stopping Lu Chao’s assault.

Although Li Wumian hated Lu Chao to the bone, he wouldn’t make a move to stop him. After all, the rule for the first trial was that ten Innate Students had to pass. Fake Lu Chao reaching the finish line by himself was utterly useless.

And so, they watched as Lu Chao fought his way, step by step, right up to the finish line...

But just as everyone thought he would burst past the finish, they saw Lu Chao suddenly pivot at the line. He turned to face the pursuing horde of blockaders, leveled his spear, and roared, ”Sky Cliff, enter! Kill!”
