Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 3418: Chapter 3418: It’s Clearly a Miniature Roaring Serpent

”Monster? What kind of monsters could there be in the Endless Desert, I’ve never heard of them before,” Bai Yan said.

Although it was his first time entering the Endless Desert, he had heard many legends about it before. Even those who entered the Endless Desert and couldn’t get out simply starved to death; there was no possibility of being devoured by demonic beasts.

”We even saw a few corpses of people who starved to death in the Endless Desert and none of them were bitten by any demonic beasts,” Hong Tianxu added.

Those corpses were all desiccated, without visible wounds, indicating they had starved. If there were demonic beasts in the desert, how could those corpses have been left intact?

Moreover, what kind of demonic beast could survive in such a harsh desert environment? There’s no water, no food—would the beasts eat sand?

As they engaged in their curious discussion, a transparent water figure stood amidst the distant sands.

He was indifferent to the other intruders of the Endless Desert, but he was genuinely curious about these few people here, watching them with an unblinking stare.

Of course, of the seven people, he wasn’t curious about three of them because he could absorb energy from their bodies. However, that woman was distinctly different from the others; he couldn’t extract any energy from her, not even a bit.

Out of so many who entered the Endless Desert, this was the first time he had encountered such a situation.

Knowing that those people couldn’t see him is precisely why he was so boldly watching, trying to discern what was unusual about that woman.

Even though he had been watching them for days since they entered the Endless Desert, he still couldn’t detect anything peculiar about her.

Yet, ironically, he was almost discovered by those people; their perception was extraordinarily keen. If he hadn’t hidden swiftly, he would have been spotted by that serpent in the woman’s hand.

Oh, wait.

Upon closer inspection, that was no ordinary snake; it was clearly a miniature version of the Roaring Serpent.

Originally, he was the solitary presence in the Endless Desert, but thousands of years ago, a little serpent suddenly appeared, occupying half of the desert, forcing him to shy away.

Now, he watched as the serpent’s cultivation level grew higher and its body larger, reaching maturity, with its abilities increasing as well. He was increasingly powerless against it, unable to extract any energy from the serpent.

And for some reason, the energy from the serpent made him highly uncomfortable, causing him discomfort for several days after absorption.

He suspected the serpent’s wickedness led to an adverse reaction against the energy.

And what’s the story with the woman before him?

He truly hadn’t encountered someone from whom he couldn’t absorb energy before—this was his first time. He wanted to study her, to approach the group, capture the woman and take her away, but he realized these people were simply beyond his ability to provoke.

These days, he overheard their conversations and learned they were here for the serpent.

If they could capture the serpent and prevent it from further dominating his desert, he might reconsider not capturing the woman. After all, she was the sole anomaly from whom he couldn’t absorb energy, likely the last of her kind.
