Chapter 1474: Section 1475 A Glimmer of Hope Chapter 1474: Section 1475 A Glimmer of Hope When Hua Que mentioned what she wanted to trade, Angel’s brows immediately furrowed.

“Rescue Popota?”

Angel’s eyes carried a clear surprise as he asked in an almost incredulous tone, “This is what you want to trade for?”

Hua Que nodded emphatically.

Angel’s expression turned somewhat ugly in an instant, “Popota didn’t tell you what he encountered, and you want me to save him?”

To obtain great power, Popota had sacrificed his own soul to the Abyssal Master, which meant that once Popota died, his soul would inevitably return to the demonic soil of the Abyssal Master’s domain.

The only way for Angel to save Popota was to rescue his physical body before he died, thus delaying his death.

Still, it was impossible; in pursuit of power, Popota had squandered his physical form to the brink of collapse. That he could live for another two years was all thanks to some benefits conveyed to him when the True Spirit of the Flameless Lord dissolved.

Popota’s physical state had reached an irreversible point; even if another Demon God’s True Spirit were to dissolve, it wouldn’t save him.

In other words, Popota was bound to die, and his soul was bound to return to the demonic soil.

“Brother told me about his experiences, I know everything,” Hua Que whispered with her head lowered.

“If you know all that, then do you think I can save him? Leaving aside whether I can save him or not, do you think I have a way to deal with The Unparalleled Great Demon God? Or perhaps, do you have some misunderstanding about The Unparalleled Great Demon God’s strength?”

Hua Que remained silent, clearly aware of The Unparalleled Great Demon God’s power.

Angel rubbed his slightly throbbing temples, completely unprepared for the trade Hua Que proposed, “This trade is simply impossible to achieve!”

At that moment, Hua Que raised her head, “It’s possible.”

Angel: “It seems that it’s not a misunderstanding of The Unparalleled Great Demon God’s strength you have, but of my own.”

“I never thought of putting my big brother in danger. To me, big brother is my most important benefactor, friend, and family,” Hua Que said, her voice trembling as she looked earnestly at Angel, as if trying to convey her sincerity, “The reason I’m proposing this trade is because… I saw it.”

Saw it? Angel knew that both Hua Que and Dororo were from the Baiyuan Clan and that they were among those in the Baiyuan Clan with a strong talent for prophecy. Now that Hua Que had become a Special Soul due to her foresight, her so-called seeing was indeed a form of premonition.

Angel grew curious as to what Hua Que had foreseen.

“What did you see?”

Hua Que: “I saw my brother’s body collapse, and his hollow soul plunge into the dark Abyss, tangled by a massive shadow, turned into a Puppet like a puppet. That’s also why I wanted to stay at Black Castle; I hope that one day, I can break into the Abyss, and retrieve my brother’s soul… It may be a difficult wish to fulfill, but I still want to try.”

Angel: “If that’s the case, why would you ask me to save him?”

“Indeed, I saw my brother’s physical and soul bodies both fall into the Abyss. But I don’t know if it’s because my abilities are malfunctioning, or if I’m deceiving myself, I saw another scene as well.”

“Another scene?”

Hua Que nodded her head, revealing what she had seen, “I don’t know why, even though I clearly saw my brother’s soul enter the Abyss, I also saw him and big brother appearing in a vast Wilderness.”

“…Wilderness? Are you sure?” Angel asked with a somewhat strange tone, as he seemed to understand what Hua Que was getting at.

“I’m not quite sure, I even thought I was dreaming,” Hua Que said, her voice filled with sadness as she lowered her head, “But I really did see a Wilderness, a Wilderness with nothing in it, no towering mountains, no babbling streams, not even a single big tree.”

Hua Que’s eyes were misty as she continued to describe, “But at the end of the Wilderness, I seem to glimpse a city. I don’t know whether what I saw was real or false, but this might be the only hope for my brother.”

After Hua Que finished speaking, Angel remained silent for a long time.

With some nervousness, Hua Que said, “I don’t want to excessively squander the kindness big brother has shown me, whether big brother agrees or not, I will still cultivate the Transforming Soft-bodied Insect.”

Angel, however, said, “You need not worry; our deal still stands. I have an inkling about what you’ve mentioned, and I will contemplate your offer.”

After pausing, Angel continued, “You should go back for now. Once I’ve made up my mind, I will give you an answer.”

With these words, Hua Que’s form began to sway, and a pulling force once again surrounded her.

Feeling the pull on her soul body, just before she was tugged away, she called out loudly, “My reason for wanting to stay at Black Castle isn’t just to save my brother. I also don’t want to drag you down, big brother. I want to become strong on my own, to repay your kindness.”

Angel sighed softly, stood up and walked over to Hua Que, then stooped down to touch Hua Que’s forehead, “I’ve told you before, you owe me nothing.”

Perhaps Hua Que’s previous words had created some resistance in Angel. But when she explained her reasons, Angel understood her meaning.

So, as he watched Hua Que’s trembling, careful choice of words, Angel sighed with emotion and stepped forward, “Bonds are the connections of emotion. I know what you’re afraid of, but I want to tell you that, whether I agree or refuse, I won’t let my feelings affect my perception of you.”

Whether in life or after death, Hua Que’s character had always remained pure and kind, something Angel was well aware of. This purity was not something that could be feigned; humans could say one thing and mean another, but the purity of a soul was unmistakable.

Her request today seemed excessive to her, as if it betrayed the tenderness that Angel had shown her.

But for Angel, it was simply a decision to nod or to shake his head. While the initial proposition might have been uncomfortable, he wouldn’t let a refusal taint his perception of Hua Que.

However, Hua Que had always been shackled and constrained, both in life and after death. She had only just begun to feel warmth from Angel, and for that reason, she dared not make requests of him. Her request this time was loaded with unease and guilt.

But Angel actually felt confident about Hua Que’s actions, seeing her courage to speak up as a form of growth.

“I am pleased that you were able to voice your own request. And I am not opposed to the idea of a trade,” Angel said with a gentle smile. “Go back now. I will give serious consideration to the trade you’ve proposed.”

After Hua Que returned to her bracelet, Angel pondered long in the quiet room.

He was considering the trade that Hua Que had suggested.

Initially, he certainly didn’t think the trade would be feasible because the cost of saving Popota was too great. Even Frode might struggle to deal with The Unparalleled Great Demon God.

The Unparalleled Great Demon God was on a level beyond ordinary demon gods.

However, when Hua Que later mentioned Angel and Popota appearing in a wilderness, Angel finally understood what Hua Que meant. The boundless wilderness she referred to should be the Wilderness of Dreams.

After giving it some thought, he realized that the Wilderness of Dreams did not accommodate one’s physical body or even a soul. Even though Popota might have lost both body and soul, his Consciousness Spark could indeed exist in the Wilderness of Dreams.

Hua Que might not understand the true nature of the trade, which was actually for the right to remain in the Wilderness of Dreams.

Although Angel disliked some of Popota’s past actions, he could agree to give Popota a chance to stay in the Wilderness of Dreams.

But there was a certain danger because in the end, Popota’s body and soul would belong to the Lord of the Abyss. Would the Lord of the Abyss find the Wilderness of Dreams because of this, bringing an ominous change to it?

This was the reason Angel couldn’t immediately agree to Hua Que’s request.

He needed to consider it carefully.

Angel pondered for a long while, imagining various possibilities. However, his understanding of the dream realm, as well as his knowledge of demon gods, was limited, so he couldn’t reach an immediate conclusion.

After a moment of thought, he stood up, extinguished the lamp on the table, and left the quiet room.

Angel was preparing to consult with Sanders and Frode.

Sanders certainly knew more about demon gods than he did, and Frode had a deeper understanding of the dream realm than himself.

Perhaps they would provide him with an answer.
