Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 1061: Chapter 1103: Sneaking a Snack

”Wait a moment!” Seeing that she was about to leave, Huo Jiantian instinctively grabbed her wrist.

Ling Yueyue looked back at him, not in a good mood, ”What are you doing? Aren’t you not eating? Then why are you pulling me?”

”Is the stuff you mentioned really that delicious?” Huo Jiantian swallowed hard, the delicacies Ling Yueyue described earlier automatically forming a picture in his mind.

Although he had eaten many delicacies over the years, for the past five years, he had all three meals at home! Everything he ate was arranged by a nutritionist! Sometimes, when he found something tasty, he would ask its name, and if he craved it, he would tell the butler to specially prepare it for him!

Apart from the food at home, he truly had never eaten outside food! Let alone the skewers and oden that the so-called wicked stepmother mentioned!

He wondered if they were really as delicious as the wicked stepmother said!

He admitted, no child could resist the temptation of delicious food, and he was no exception!

Ling Yueyue nodded firmly, promising, ”Of course! Don’t think only delicacies are tasty; many street snacks are better than the sharks fin and abalone at home!”

Seeing Ling Yueyue speak so confidently, Huo Jiantian swallowed his saliva again, ”Then I want to try it!”

Ling Yueyue raised an eyebrow, ”Really? Are you sure I’m not forcing you?”

Huo Jiantian nodded, determined, ”It’s me who wants it, you’re not forcing me, hurry up and take me to eat!”

”OK! Let’s go!” Ling Yueyue smiled and made an OK hand gesture to Huo Jiantian, instructed the driver to wait for her call, and then left hand in hand with Huo Jiantian.

Since Huo Jiantian’s kindergarten was in the center of Jin City, a turn and a street crossing led them to a bustling area where everything could be found! Clothes vendors, food vendors, daily necessities—all were available!

On the right side of the bustling area was a small alley, from beginning to end, entirely filled with food vendors!

Ling Yueyue led Huo Jiantian to a popular barbecue stand, and said in one breath, ”Give me thirty skewers of grilled meat!”

”Alright, girl, please wait a moment!” The owner smiled and nodded, placing the thirty skewers Ling Yueyue ordered onto the grill.

Huo Jiantian stood in front of the barbecue stand, looking at the skewers being grilled over the fire, inhaling the unique aroma of barbecue, swallowing hard incessantly!

Seeing Huo Jiantian’s eager expression, Ling Yueyue chuckled with satisfaction!

After waiting a little while, the thirty skewers were ready. Ling Yueyue paid, took the skewers, and handed the first one to Huo Jiantian, ”Quickly eat it, this stuff is best eaten hot; when it’s cold, it tastes much worse!”

”Oh!” Huo Jiantian nodded, carefully taking a bite of the meat and putting it into his mouth! Once he tasted it, he couldn’t help but widen his eyes and took another big bite.

Seeing him like this, Ling Yueyue proudly asked, ”How is it? I didn’t lie to you, right? Isn’t it delicious?”

”Yeah! It’s so good, I’ve never tasted anything like it! It’s a bit spicy, but I can handle it!” said Huo Jiantian nodding eagerly while eating. After finishing one skewer, he asked Ling Yueyue for a second.

For someone accustomed to proper home-cooked meals, tasting this unique flavor for the first time was addictive, feeling like this was the most delicious thing in the world!

In no time at all, all thirty skewers were finished!

Huo Jiantian licked his lips unsatisfied, ”Wicked stepmother, I want more! It’s so good!”

”There are so many delicious things here, if you fill your stomach now, how will you have room for others! Let me tell you, since your dad isn’t with us today, we must seize the opportunity to eat well! Let’s go, I’ll take you to get oden, it’s even tastier!” Ling Yueyue said as she grabbed Huo Jiantian’s hand, excitedly heading forward!

Hearing that Ling Yueyue said oden was tastier than skewers, Huo Jiantian nodded excitedly and followed her to the oden stall!

Both of them bought a bowl of oden, and two bubble teas afterward, eating as they walked!

Huo Jiantian kept praising the good taste as he ate!

It was rare for Ling Yueyue and Huo Jiantian to not argue when together for the first time, the atmosphere was extraordinarily good! The two ate from the start of the street to the end, almost tasting every snack. Only when they were full, with their stomachs unable to hold any more, did they sit on a bench by the road, waiting for the driver to pick them up.

Both sat in the car heading home, consistently burping and gently touching their round bellies.

Ling Yueyue asked Huo Jiantian beside her, ”So, didn’t I give you a good recommendation? Isn’t it much better than the strict stuff at home?”

Only after a while,

Huo Jiantian nodded, ordering with pride, ”Yes! I’m telling you, now that you’ve taken me once, whenever I want to eat again, you have to take me! Otherwise, I won’t be polite to you!”

Ling Yueyue raised an eyebrow, ” Oh, are you asking me, or ordering me? I’m telling you, I, Ling Yueyue, only comply with softness, not hardness!”

”...!” Huo Jiantian’s face froze, and after moving his mouth for a while, he reluctantly said, ”Consider it a request, then!”

Seeing Huo Jiantian easily lower his stance for the first time, Ling Yueyue nodded with satisfaction, ”That’s more like it!”

Huo Jiantian pouted and, when Ling Yueyue wasn’t paying attention, glared at her fiercely before quickly looking away, out the window.

Since they ate for a long time, by the time they returned home, the sun had already set! Huo Junmo entered almost simultaneously with them!

As soon as he entered, Huo Junmo smelled their odor, frowned slightly, and asked displeasedly, ”What is that smell?”

Nan Jinning, sitting on the living room sofa, disdainfully scanned Ling Yueyue and Huo Jiantian from head to toe, her gaze finally landing on Huo Jiantian’s chest. She smirked and said softly, ”Brother-in-law, I think they definitely snuck out to eat! Look at Tiantian’s clothes, they’re covered in red oil, clearly not from anything good! Only street stall oil has that color!”

As Nan Jinning’s words fell, Huo Jiantian and Ling Yueyue glared at her with resentful eyes!

Maintaining a calm expression, Huo Junmo asked with unusual tranquility, ”Did you two really eat at a street stall?”

Seeing Huo Junmo questioning, Ling Yueyue, knowing there was no escape, simply stuck out her chest and confidently replied, ”Today I took Tiantian to eat at a street stall! What’s wrong with eating at a street stall? It’s not something punishable by heaven! Besides, this is a way for us as mother and child to bond, it’s none of an outsider’s business!”
