High Martial Arts: Grinding for the Supreme Talent

Chapter 283: Chapter 283: Intermediate Source Energy Technique

The moment Lin Qi spoke, the air fell silent.

For a second, Jiangtao’s mind went completely blank.

When he came to his senses, shock flooded him. He stared wide-eyed at Lin Qi’s serious expression.

”Huh?”

”Brother Qi, what did you just say? Say it again!”

Even the ever-composed Guan Mountain’s expression changed drastically. He blinked and asked,

”Brother Qi, you’ve already managed to merge your Power and Source Energy?”

”Doesn’t that mean you’ll be able to achieve Power Separation now that you’ve broken through to the Fourth Realm?”

The three of them looked at Lin Qi, who simply nodded.

”That’s about right. Back then, I bought the *Mountain Shaking Spear Technique* because I wanted to strengthen my control over Power and master Mountain Shaking Power.”

”But then I suddenly had the idea of merging Power and Source Energy, and I succeeded with that technique. I also successfully mastered Mountain Shaking Power!” Lin Qi explained in a relaxed tone.

Jiangtao and the other two felt as if they’d taken a critical hit.

”Brother Qi, you skipped a step! There’s a whole stage in the middle about controlling the changes in your Power, and you just leaped right over it.”

”And if I remember correctly, Brother Qi, you mastered Mountain Shaking Power in just two days!” Wang Qiufeng suddenly interjected.

Hearing this, Jiangtao and Guan Mountain fell silent once more.

It was utterly demoralizing. Compared to Lin Qi, they felt like three idiots.

Lin Qi shook his head. ”It’s not as exaggerated as you think. I hadn’t broken through to Bone Cultivation back then, so merging the power from my muscles and tendons with Source Energy wasn’t that difficult.”

”Now, trying to master Power Separation will probably take a bit more time.”

Hearing this, the three felt that it did make sense, and they breathed a collective sigh of relief.

...

「A dozen or so minutes later.」

After a simple lunch, Lin Qi returned to his Martial Arts Room.

He had Little Chan project the content of Liu Ran’s lecture.

He, meanwhile, took notes beside the projection.

Liu Ran had covered a lot of material today, and he needed to watch it again to deepen his understanding and impressions.

The Fourth Realm, Bone Cultivation, was the domain of Middle Realm Martial Artists. It was an earth-shattering change, with huge transformations in every aspect.

First was the change in Qi and Blood Value; one needed 300 to advance to the Fifth Realm.

’No wonder the Fourth Realm is the graduation standard. If the Fifth Realm were required, more than half the students wouldn’t reach it in four years of university and would never be able to graduate.’

Then there was the change in Power. Power Separation was the hallmark of the Fourth Realm.

At this thought, Lin Qi lowered his hands.

He clenched his fists, muscles tensing as he focused his Spiritual Power, sensing the Flow of Power within his body.

After breaking through to the Fourth Realm yesterday, he had felt his body change while practicing his Source Energy Skill.

Flesh, tendons, and skin—the three body parts tempered in the Low Realm—had reached Perfection, completing his body’s foundational training.

He exerted strength again, and Power flowed through him like water.

His Heart Eye Talent allowed his Perception to delve deep into his bones, letting him ”see” his entire inner body with greater clarity.

The instant he exerted strength, his skin, muscles, great tendons, and bones all vibrated simultaneously.

The vibration of his bones also generated Power—the bones themselves were exerting strength.

A much more majestic Power was born, coursing through every part of his body.

’Just as I thought, the Power coalescing inside my body has increased.’

Lin Qi clenched his fist, sensing it carefully. He felt he could now gather a far more majestic Power to imbue his weapon, making it even stronger.

BOOM!

Lin Qi clenched his fist and threw it out like a cannonball, his body suddenly erupting with force as he unleashed the strike.

The punch sent a muffled explosion through the air.

He then curled his palms into claws and began practicing the Tiger Form Fist from the Five Elements Fist. This was a Fist Technique he had practiced since the very beginning.

Even though he had switched through several Spear Techniques, his Fist Technique remained the Tiger Form Fist.

Every move and stance was already ingrained into the very marrow of his being. When he executed the techniques, he truly seemed to transform into a ferocious tiger.

BOOM!

Practicing the Tiger Form Fist again now felt both Proficient and unfamiliar. As his body exerted force and channeled Power, his tendons and bones sang in unison, and his muscles vibrated.

Even the surface of his skin trembled minutely. The waves of Power transformed from a mere trickle into a surging, tempestuous torrent.

For a moment, he found himself unable to fully control this swelling Power.

’Just as I expected. The condensed Power is like a stream turning into a waterfall—far more majestic and impactful.’

While practicing the fist technique, Lin Qi continuously adapted to the changes in his body.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

He threw punch after punch, making the air crackle. Power generated between his bones shot out through his fists with immense piercing force.

The sound of the explosions grew even crisper.

Lin Qi’s consciousness sank into his body to feel the changes in his Power. He also discovered that the number of Source Energy Particles inside him had increased.

Whenever his body moved violently and vibrated, these Source Energy Particles scattered everywhere like dust shaken from a blanket.

They followed no rules, settling wherever they landed.

They gathered in every corner of his body—between his great tendons and muscles, in the joints between muscles and bones, and between muscles and organs. Remnants were everywhere.

A portion of them was even being slowly absorbed by his body.

’Did I absorb too much Source Energy yesterday?’

Lin Qi secretly wondered. After breaking through to the Fourth Realm, he could absorb much more Source Energy, but his body’s cells still had an appetite limit.

With too much Source Energy, his body couldn’t ”eat” it all, and the excess was left to wander through his system.

BAM!

Lin Qi flexed his muscles, trying to control these Source Energy Particles, but found it exceptionally difficult!

With more Source Energy Particles, the difficulty of controlling them had also increased.

Consequently, merging them with Power and releasing the combination from his body also became progressively harder.

...

「Several hours later.」

BAM! BAM!

In the spacious Martial Arts Room,

*Haaa...*

Lin Qi took a deep breath. His body vibrated, flinging every bead of sweat from his skin into the air.

His eyes lit up. He controlled his muscles and vibrated his Source Energy, gathering his muscles, strength, and Source Energy together.

He condensed his Power into a watery vortex, which swept up the Source Energy and rapidly coursed through his body.

Inside the vortex, the Source Energy merged with the Power.

He directed the fusion to gather in his arms, channeling the force to his fingertips.

Seizing a momentary opening, he unleashed it all in one breath with a strike of his Tiger Claw.

BOOM!!!

In that instant, Lin Qi could clearly feel strands of Power being released from his body, leaving his fingertips like a jet of water.

The air cracked. The sweat droplets hanging in the air were struck by the ball of Power and exploded violently, scattering like countless grains of sand.

Lin Qi retracted his fist, his eyes shining. Success!

Several messages also popped up on the golden panel.

[You have comprehended the method of Power Separation through continuous cultivation of the Five Elements Fist Technique. Your Fist Technique has broken through. Fist Technique +5%]

[Fist Technique: Tier Three 50% → 55%]

...

*Haaa...*

A smile appeared on Lin Qi’s face. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

’Looks like my Comprehension is the real deal. It took me less than a day to master the method of Power Separation.’

He was also surprised that he had re-mastered the technique for merging Power and Source Energy in under a day.

Although his method was very crude, he had indeed learned it and could make his Power leave his body to exist independently in the air.

As he circulated energy through his body, he discovered that a portion of the Source Energy had been expended along with his Power.

The number of remaining Source Energy Particles was still very large.

’This is just the beginning. The next step is to merge it with a weapon, which is even more difficult.’

’At the same time, I need to find a way to make the flow of Power more refined.’

Lin Qi already knew his next training direction. For his Spear Technique, he needed to focus on the fusion of Power and Source Energy. If he mastered it, the might of his techniques would increase by a huge margin.

...

「The next day.」

In a top-floor office of the Cangjing Building at the Azure Sky Sixth Institute.

Lin Qi sat on a soft blue sofa, facing Luu Wei. Compared to when he had enrolled a few months ago, she had shed her student-like demeanor.

She had fully integrated into her role as an advisor, moving with practiced ease as she busied herself at the tea table.

Meanwhile, Dean Liu was feeding the colorful fish in his fish tank.

”Lin Qi, I never expected you to break through to the Fourth Realm so quickly.”

”You’ve set another record.”

”In the entire decades-long history of the Azure Sky Sixth Institute, even including those who Awakened a Special Ability midway through,”

”the fastest anyone ever broke through was at the end of March. You’re nearly a full month ahead of them.”

Dean Liu turned to look at Lin Qi, his voice filled with admiration.

Luu Wei also smiled. ”Aside from the three or four people from the Tenth Institute who have already broken through to the Fourth Realm, everyone else is behind you.”

Lin Qi nodded. By his calculations, the ones who had broken through should be Pei Jiu, Xiang Long, and their cohort.

As for Yu Zhuoran, she had already broken through to the Fourth Realm. ’In half a month, who knows how high her Qi and Blood Value has climbed by now?’

Dean Liu sat down, took the hot tea that had been prepared, and said slowly,

”Lin Qi, now that you’ve reached the Fourth Realm, your muscles, tendons, and bones can all exert force, causing your Power to surge. You need to control them and fuse them with your Power to master Power Separation.”

Lin Qi accepted his own cup of hot tea and said, ”I’ve already mastered Power Separation!”

PFFT—

Dean Liu, who was in the middle of a sip, sprayed a mouthful of tea.

*Cough.*

He embarrassedly pulled out a tissue to wipe his mouth. ”It went down the wrong pipe!”

He then looked at Lin Qi. ”I didn’t expect you to master it so quickly.”

”The next step is to continue controlling your Power and integrate it into your long spear and spear techniques.”

Lin Qi nodded. ”Understood!”

At this point, Luu Wei spoke up. ”Aside from the changes in your Martial Arts, if you want to increase your Qi and Blood Value even faster, you’ll need to learn a new Source Energy Skill.”

”Specifically, an Intermediate Source Energy Technique. As a top-level genius, you should naturally learn a five-star rating technique.”

”For Intermediate Source Energy Techniques, a four-star rating is based on an Eighth-Level Calamity Beast. It’s just a step up from the previous foundation.”

”The cultivation speed will increase, but not by much.”

”Only the five-star rating techniques are different. Those are in another league entirely.”

”That’s because their cultivation prototypes are all Ninth-Level (King-Level) Calamity Beasts, the most supreme beings among Calamity Beasts.”

”They are comparable to our human Ninth Realm Martial Artists. They’re on a completely different level.”

Lin Qi took a sip of hot tea and nodded. In the Low Realm, he had cultivated the *Vajra Tiger Evolution Technique*. The Vajra Tiger was an Eighth-Level Calamity Beast.

Now that he had broken through to the Middle Realm, his visualization subject would naturally need to be upgraded to a Ninth-Level Calamity Beast.

A Ninth-Level Calamity Beast was also called a King-Level Calamity Beast. He didn’t even have to think to know that a Source Energy Skill based on such a creature would have a much more powerful cultivation effect.
