High Martial Arts: Grinding for the Supreme Talent

Chapter 259: Chapter 259: Comprehending Mountain Shaking Power

”Every technique in the *Mountain Shaking Spear Technique* is a fusion of the essences of countless other spear techniques. It demands extremely strict control over your muscles and Power.”

”First, you need to cultivate a higher level of Power, breaking through from Mountain-Splitting Power to Mountain Shaking Power!”

”Every Secret Manual allows you to cultivate a unique Power. The *Mountain Shaking Spear Technique* lets you condense Mountain Shaking Power!”

”This Power is as fierce as a raging dragon. It can be massive or minute, a perfect balance of hard and soft.”

”Once mastered, it’s even stronger than Mountain-Splitting Power and possesses far more versatility.”

The burly man held a spear in one hand. He suddenly thrust the Black Great Spear at a marble block over a meter thick just a short distance away.

”BANG!!”

The Black Great Spear blasted through the block of stone. It shattered from the center outwards, spiderweb-like cracks spreading across it as fragments of rock flew everywhere.

The meter-thick marble had been pierced straight through by the Long Spear.

”I controlled my strength at 4,000 kilograms. Just by using Mountain Shaking Power, I can pierce a meter-thick slab of marble.”

Lin Qi exhaled. ’Mountain Shaking Power is even stronger than I imagined.’

Although he felt he could accomplish the same feat, doing it as effortlessly as the burly man seemed nearly impossible.

That was the might of Mountain Shaking Power. A single strike could unleash immense destructive force.

However, mastering it wouldn’t be easy. It had taken him two and a half days just to master Mountain-Splitting Power.

”Comprehending Mountain Shaking Power is quite difficult. Even an exceptionally talented S-class genius would need half a month to master it.”

The burly man said with a serious expression.

Lin Qi was rather surprised. ’Half a month? The difficulty really is much higher than Mountain-Splitting Power.’

’With my Talent and Comprehension, I wonder if I can figure it out within a week.’

With this in mind, Lin Qi picked up the Secret Manual again, turning to the section on how to apply the Power.

He studied it, move by move, technique by technique.

Then he picked up a Long Spear and began to practice. His Spear Technique visibly grew more Proficient.

’So difficult!’

An hour later, Lin Qi stopped and wiped the sweat from his forehead.

He looked at the open Secret Manual and frowned. Mastering Mountain Shaking Power was even harder than he had anticipated.

The difficulty was a huge leap. He focused his consciousness inward, carefully controlling his Power and circulating it, strand by strand.

So far, he felt his progress was slow.

’No wonder it takes half a month.’

Lin Qi let out a breath, resolving to spend the next few days completely immersed in mastering Mountain Shaking Power.

...

Three days passed in the blink of an eye. The news that Huo Wanyang had Awakened a Special Ability had completely blown up among the new students.

Ao Feng, Duan Chuchu, Li Lei, and the other Deans were envious, but they knew it was the kind of thing you couldn’t obtain through envy alone.

Whether one could awaken a Special Ability was purely a matter of luck, a blessing from the heavens.

And now, Huo Wanyang had completely surpassed them, with no possibility of them ever catching up.

Inside the Martial Arts Room of a luxurious, standalone villa in the Azure Sky First Institute.

The burly Huo Wanyang wore a confident smile. Red patterns appeared on the surface of his skin, and his body radiated scorching heat.

The next moment, his palms burst into crimson flames that burned fiercely.

A power within him was activated, surging through every part of his body and releasing a continuous stream of strength.

”This feeling... it’s incredible!”

A dazzling red light shone from Huo Wanyang’s eyes.

”Special Ability: Red Flame!”

”Only someone who has Awakened a Special Ability can know how powerful it truly is.”

”I’ve never felt better. My body has transformed, my Talent has grown stronger, and my power has increased by a huge margin.”

”And my Comprehension!”

Huo Wanyang felt completely different. His mind was clearer, and for the past few days, insights had been popping into his head.

He was already an SS-level genius. With a few more months of growth, he would be able to defeat Han Zhen with ease.

”And you, Lin Qi. In a few months, I’ll completely surpass and defeat you, becoming the strongest of all the new students.”

He then looked at a crimson Secret Manual nearby—the *Red Lotus Halberd Technique*.

He swung the Red Halberd in his hand. His muscles tensed, a special Power flowed through him, and a scorching heat surged forth.

He too was mastering the Power within his body.

”The *Red Lotus Halberd Technique* is practically tailor-made for me. With my previous Comprehension, it might have taken me ten to fifteen days to master the Red Lotus Power.”

”But now that my Comprehension has improved, one week is more than enough time for me to master it.”

A confident smile spread across Huo Wanyang’s face. He had returned to his original mindset.

’Even though he’s not my biological father, Dad is really good to me. I’ll be sure to repay him in the future.’

...

「Another day passed in the blink of an eye.」

In the top-floor Martial Arts Room of Cangjing Building, at the Azure Sky Sixth Institute.

Mu Hong, dressed in black training attire, held a Training Lance in one hand. His Spear Technique was fierce and domineering, his Techniques broad and sweeping.

Not far away, Lin Qi was watching Mu Hong execute his Spear Technique.

”Lin Qi, although mastering Mountain Shaking Power is difficult, it’s not without a method.”

”You don’t have to be so rigid in your approach to controlling it. Try thinking about it from a different angle.”

”The process of condensing your Power into a unique form is like solving a puzzle. There are methods that can help you comprehend it faster, like the ’Power like Flowing Water’ method...”

Mu Hong continued to explain the techniques for mastery. Lin Qi listened, nodding from time to time as if on the verge of an epiphany.

In his mind, he began to search for a new approach to understanding and controlling Mountain Shaking Power.

After his teacher, Mu Hong, finished speaking, he picked up a Training Lance and began his Cultivation.

He performed the *Mountain Shaking Spear Technique*. His footwork was steady and powerful, his spear struck like a dragon with the force of crashing Thunder, and his movements were broad and sweeping.

Lin Qi’s Spear Technique flowed like water. Each movement was solid and powerful, his presence fierce and domineering.

But it was still missing something.

Li Qing, holding a Long Spear, offered some words of comfort from the side. ”Junior Brother, don’t be so anxious. Just let it happen naturally.”

”It’s not good to push yourself too hard. Maybe if you rest for a day, you’ll master Mountain Shaking Power just like that.”

”Normally, mastering it in half a month would make you a Top-Level genius. With your Talent, you could cut that time in half and master it in seven days.”

Wang Zixuan also chimed in, ”He’s right, you don’t need to push yourself so hard.”

”Controlling Power is a matter of will. Mastering it in a week would make you a peerless genius.”

But Lin Qi seemed not to hear them, continuing to practice the *Mountain Shaking Spear Technique*.

An invisible aura emanated from him, and his movements gradually became more harmonious.

Lin Qi was completely immersed in his Spear Technique. Mu Hong’s advice surfaced in his mind as his will sank into his body, taking control of the Power that was now like Flowing Water.

He let it flow naturally, experiencing the generation, flow, condensation, and release of the Power from a new perspective.

The Power began to transform into fine threads of silk, allowing him to weave them together with increasing fluidity and smoothness.

His progress surged forward. In a single moment, all his Power condensed into a brand-new form—Mountain Shaking Power.

A Power as fierce and domineering as a mountain!

Lin Qi felt the Power flow out like a Spiritual Snake, imbuing the Training Lance.

”SWISH~”

”WHOOSH~”

In an instant, Lin Qi seemed different. His Power and Techniques worked in concert, as if enhanced by some immense force.

Watching Lin Qi’s transformation from the side, Li Qing’s expression stiffened. ”Is this...”

”Zi Xuan!” Mu Hong, dressed in black, called out.

Wang Zixuan grabbed a Training Lance from a nearby rack and leaped nimbly in front of Lin Qi.

”Junior Brother, attack me!”

Seeing this, Lin Qi didn’t hesitate. He executed the *Mountain Shaking Spear Technique*. The Power within him shifted, surging out like a Spiritual Snake. A majestic Power then flooded into the Long Spear, condensing at its tip.

”VMMMM!!”

The shaft of the spear hummed. With a flick of the tip, Lin Qi strode forward, his spear striking like a dragon, thrusting out with crushing force.

Wang Zixuan swung her Long Spear like a staff, whipping it around in a circle to meet his attack.

*Mountain Shaking Spear Technique*—Stone Splitting!

”BANG!”

The two Long Spears collided, and Lin Qi’s condensed Power was released.

Wang Zixuan felt a tyrannical Power, strong enough to shatter mountains, travel up her arm.

This Power was even more unyielding, capable of scattering and continuing its assault, making it far more sophisticated.

A sharp pain shot through her arm.

She raised an eyebrow, but with her physical constitution, she withstood the blow directly.

However, her expression was one of utter astonishment.

Lin Qi’s body shuddered, and he was forced back several steps before he could stop himself.

”Junior Brother, you’ve mastered Mountain Shaking Power?”

Wang Zixuan asked in surprise. If she wasn’t mistaken, that was Mountain Shaking Power.

At that moment, Mu Hong, still in black, spoke up. ”It seems you have. Congratulations, Lin Qi.”

He marveled internally. ’This disciple’s Talent is simply astonishing.’

Lin Qi retrieved his spear and bowed. ”Thank you for your guidance, Teacher!”

Li Qing’s eyes went wide. ”Junior Brother, how long have you been practicing the *Mountain Shaking Spear Technique*? You’ve already mastered it.”

Lin Qi answered earnestly, ”Today would be the fourth day, I suppose.”

”So, three and a half days!”

Li Qing and Wang Zixuan exchanged a look and gasped.

”It took me a full sixteen days to master the Starlight Power from the *Starlight Spear Technique*, and you only took three and a half days! The gap is just too huge.” Li Qing shook his head.

”It took me fifteen days as well,” Wang Zixuan added.

Lin Qi chuckled. ”The Spear Technique I’m practicing is a direct successor to my previous one, so it was easier to pick up.”

”Mine was too, otherwise it would’ve taken even longer.” Li Qing felt utterly crushed.

Mu Hong also shook his head as he looked at Lin Qi, his eyes filled with amazement.

It was the first time he had ever seen a genius who hadn’t Awakened a Special Ability master a new Power in only three and a half days.

’His Comprehension is just staggering!’

’I wouldn’t trade a disciple like this for several geniuses from the Tenth Institute.’

...

「Half an hour later.」

In standalone villa #01 of the Azure Sky Sixth Institute.

Lin Qi returned to his Martial Arts Room. He changed into a Martial Arts Uniform, set down an empty beverage bottle, and turned his gaze to the panel.

[You have begun studying the *Mountain Shaking Spear Technique*. Spear Technique proficiency has increased by +1%.]

[After four days of Cultivation, you have successfully comprehended Mountain Shaking Power. Spear Technique +5%.]

[Spear Technique: Tier Three 19% → Tier Three 25%]

...

Lin Qi was also rather surprised as he looked at the panel.

’This was much faster than I expected. I thought it would take at least a week.’

’It seems my Comprehension is much higher than before. If I were to fight Han Zhen again now, I wouldn’t even need to use the Vajra Transformation.’

’With my current strength, I can defeat him outright!’
