High Martial Arts: Grinding for the Supreme Talent

Chapter 242: Chapter 242: One Strength to Break Ten Techniques

”Force Discharge merely disperses the power of a technique. No matter how skilled one is, at most, they can only negate half the force.”

”Against most opponents, Liang Yuxin can rely on her speed and Force Discharge technique to achieve victory.”

”But against a true expert, that trick won’t work.”

”As they say, brute force trumps all techniques. With enough power, one can easily shatter her defense.”

The yellow-robed woman from Shanyu Martial Arts University sneered. ”Are you saying Lin Qi is that ’true expert’?”

Dean Liu replied calmly, ”You could say that.”

”Let’s just keep watching the match. The tide is about to turn,” a leader suddenly interjected, cutting off their conversation.

Everyone’s gaze returned to the arena. The battle was changing in an instant; even looking away for a second could mean missing crucial details.

The yellow-robed woman and Dean Liu also turned their attention back to the arena.

...

In the Shanyu Martial Arts University section of the arena, a tall, brawny man with short hair watched the fight with his arms crossed.

He was Zhong Xinyan, the second-ranked student at Shanyu Martial Arts University and a Martial Artist who specialized in fierce, aggressive assaults.

But in the new student tournament a few months ago, he had been endlessly tormented by Liang Yuxin’s Flowing Water Power. She had completely toyed with him, leading to his frustrating defeat.

He always felt that if they were to fight again, he would definitely be the one to win.

...

In the Nether Sea spectator stands, a well-built young man sitting next to Li Hanjiang spoke up.

”Brother Hanjiang, why does it feel like Lin Qi is about to lose?”

”Liang Yuxin’s Force Discharge technique is so refined. It feels like it has the essence of Yirou Ke Gang from the old Tai Chi Fist.”

Li Hanjiang smiled upon hearing this.

”The fight has just begun. It won’t be easy for Yu Xin to win.”

A young woman to his left asked doubtfully, ”Really?”

”Of course it is!” Li Hanjiang said with confidence.

...

「In the arena」

CLANG! CLANG!

Lin Qi swung his Black Great Spear, attacking Liang Yuxin with a series of slashes, smashes, uppercuts, and thrusts.

But his opponent was like a Spiritual Snake, coiling around him with a nimble Body Technique.

Unable to create distance, he couldn’t fully extend his limbs, preventing him from unleashing the full might of his Big Gun.

He gathered his strength, unleashing Mountain-Splitting Power, Meteor Power, and Vajra Power one after another, but it was like dropping a stone into the ocean.

It was more like a vast river crashing into Liang Yuxin’s body, only to be diverted and discharged by her Flowing Water Power. Only a small fraction of the Power remained, which she endured head-on.

WHOOSH—

Suddenly, Lin Qi sensed intense danger. A killing blow shot out with lightning speed, and he dodged instinctively.

The sharp edge of the blade grazed his cheek, leaving a small cut.

Thanks to his high level of skin Refinement, it didn’t even bleed. Liang Yuxin was slightly stunned. ’He actually dodged it just like that?’

Lin Qi held his breath, then exhaled. His body trembled as an invisible force slowly began to gather.

It seemed that with a single thought, an endless, terrifying power would surge forth.

’Good, the Little Divine Power is starting to adapt.’

’I can use it easily if I want to. It’s time to end this fight.’

He felt as if he had fallen into a snake’s nest, entangled by countless serpents with sharp fangs poised to devour his flesh and blood at any moment.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Countless sword shadows materialized from all directions, striking from every corner.

Lin Qi instantly unleashed his Thunder Light Body Technique. His body became an afterimage, a phantom of thunder light, as countless bolts of light streaked across the arena.

He dodged every one of Liang Yuxin’s sword strikes with the slightest of movements.

He knew that Liang Yuxin practiced the Flowing Water Sword Technique; it had been mentioned in the materials provided by the university.

She excelled at preemptive strikes with speed, as well as Yirou Ke Gang, Force Discharge, and even redirecting her opponent’s force.

Her swordsmanship varied in pace, making it impossible for others to defend against. Countless opponents had fallen to this endlessly shifting Sword Technique.

But Force Discharge had its limits. Even after being discharged, some force always remained.

When the force became too great, Liang Yuxin’s body wouldn’t be able to handle it. Her stamina, defense, and strength were all weaknesses.

HUPH—

Liang Yuxin’s swordsmanship was like a surging torrent as she thrust her sword out several times in an instant. Her earlier confidence was wavering.

She knew Lin Qi was strong, specialized in fierce attacks, and possessed a high level of Spear Skill.

But she never expected his Body Technique to be this incredible!

She had been successfully discharging his power, but when it was her turn to attack, she couldn’t land a single blow.

She told herself to stay calm. She had to find an opportunity for a fatal strike. ’The advantage is mine,’ she thought, ’and victory will surely be mine as well.’

CLANG!

At the same moment, their weapons clashed. The two locked eyes, and Lin Qi looked up.

A Golden Light seemed to flash in his eyes as an invisible aura erupted from him, like the roar of a ferocious tiger.

Liang Yuxin felt as if she were facing a true Eighth-Level Calamity Beast—a Vajra Tiger!

BOOM!

Lin Qi suddenly exerted himself, every muscle in his body tensing at once as he unleashed one hundred percent of his Power.

Mountain-Splitting Power erupted, gathering and condensing within him until it felt like a vast ocean.

It flowed from all parts of his body into his arms, then channeled completely into his Long Spear.

CLANG!!!

The Longsword and Big Gun collided. This time, Liang Yuxin’s eyes flew open as an explosive Power charged recklessly up her sword and slammed into her body.

She activated her Flowing Water Power, trying to divide and discharge the force!

’Discharge!’

She screamed internally. She desperately tried to discharge the force, but she felt like she was facing an entire ocean with only a few fire hoses; she couldn’t possibly get rid of that much power.

BOOM!!

The immense force slammed into her. Her Qi Blood roiled, and the terrifying Power ravaged her Inner Organs, numbing both of her arms.

Her body stumbled backward uncontrollably.

THUD! THUD!!

She struggled to steady herself, her expression one of utter shock. ’How is this possible? This power...’

In the next instant, Lin Qi lunged forward, leaving deep footprints where he had stood.

His body spun violently, creating a series of vortexes as his released Power compressed the surrounding air.

At this moment, Liang Yuxin also sensed the danger. She swung her longsword with all her might, creating a sky full of sword shadows as she released her Flowing Water Power, forming a vortex of Power to continuously discharge the incoming force.

CLANG! CLANG!!

Lin Qi put his strength into it, swinging his Big Gun in wide, sweeping arcs. His techniques were grand and open, each one displaying his fierce and domineering style as he combined raw strength with Power.

The Mountain Splitting Spear Technique’s Killing Technique—Wave-Swirl Strike!

Liang Yuxin wanted to use Force Discharge, to even redirect his force back at him.

But Lin Qi’s strength was too immense, and her body, groaning under the strain, couldn’t take it.

CLANG!

Then came another clash, an even stronger force. A sickening ”CRACK” was heard.

Liang Yuxin’s eyes widened. The bones in her fingers had fractured, and her arm had gone completely numb.

The longsword flew from her grasp, whistling through the air before embedding itself in a crack in the concrete ground.

SQUELCH—

Lin Qi swung his Black Great Spear, its sharp silver tip slicing through the air.

It let out a whoosh as it broke the sound barrier, a direct thrust that left a black afterimage in its wake.

In an instant, the spear tip pierced Liang Yuxin’s delicate neck, sending a brilliant spray of blood splattering across the gray concrete.

THUD!!

Liang Yuxin collapsed weakly to her knees, blood dripping down as she looked up at the cold, stern face of Lin Qi.

”I’m returning your earlier words to you. This is your last battle!”

”Also, your Force Discharge technique isn’t strong enough,” Lin Qi stated calmly.

As soon as he finished speaking, Liang Yuxin’s body dissolved into the Void, vanishing from the arena.

The battle was over. Lin Qi was victorious!
