High Martial Arts: Grinding for the Supreme Talent

Chapter 204: Chapter 204: A Dominant Advance to the Finals

In a flash, Ao Feng saw an opening, his body instantly coiling with power.

He held his breath. The saber’s gleam multiplied as he unleashed his Body Technique. Moving like a phantom, he instantly closed the distance to Lin Qi.

His movements displayed astonishing coordination as he swung the Tang Cross Saber with surprising speed. The blade flashed like a fleeting gleam of light in the night sky.

*Ghost Shadow Saber Technique* Killing Technique—Startled Ghost Flash!

The blade sliced through the air with a faint whistle, arriving in a heartbeat as killing intent erupted.

Lin Qi felt the blade’s Sharpness against his skin, and a fierce wind whipped across his face.

Yet his expression remained calm, the corners of his mouth upturned in a slight smile. He lowered his center of gravity as his leg muscles exploded with power. His footwork shifted rapidly, and in an instant, he seemed to transform into a phantom.

In a split second, he split into several afterimages, like flashes of Thunder Light beneath the night sky.

*Thunder Light Body Technique*

SWOOSH~ SWOOSH~ SWOOSH~

As if time had slowed, Ao Feng’s blade slashed down. Lin Qi reacted in a flash, shifting to his right and letting the sharp Tang Cross Saber graze past him.

He could even see his own face reflected on the gleaming surface of the blade.

The edge of the blade was only a centimeter away.

A sharp, treacherous Power even washed over his face.

’What?’

Ao Feng’s eyes widened, unable to believe his Killing Technique had been dodged just like that!

Power surged through his body as he swung the Tang Cross Saber in a horizontal slash, but Lin Qi simply ducked and leaned back, dodging the blow once more.

After Lin Qi dodged the Killing Technique several times in a row, the phantom-like quality of Ao Feng’s attacks vanished as they repeatedly missed their mark.

There was also a momentary pause in his momentum.

Lin Qi thought, ’Here’s my chance!’

He shifted his weight, his muscles suddenly tensing. As he swung the Black Great Spear, power surged through him. His Great Tendons tightened and veins bulged on his skin.

His muscles were fully activated, his Qi Blood raged, and a terrifying aura exploded from him.

BOOM!!

An immense aura spread out like a tide, and the Power within him crashed forth like a colossal wave.

He flicked his spear upward at Ao Feng, stirring up a fierce gale.

BANG!!

A monstrous force of over 3,200 kilograms was channeled into the heavy Great Spear.

BANG!

The Tang Cross Saber and the Great Spear collided, and the air cracked.

Ao Feng’s expression changed for the second time. He felt his arms tremble uncontrollably as terrifying physical force and Power traveled up the blade and into them.

This strength was terrifying!

He was an existence at the Peak of the Second Realm, and his Fist Power was close to 2,900 kilograms.

His strength was not weak at all; it surpassed the minimum Fist Power of the Third Realm.

But facing Lin Qi’s attack, his arms went numb, the muscles in his arms instantly tore, and his blood vessels burst.

This meant his opponent’s Fist Power was a huge margin stronger than his. Under Lin Qi’s assault, he was forced to retreat, unable to stop himself.

THUD! THUD!

And this was just the beginning. Lin Qi began to exert his force, continuing to swing the Black Great Spear, completely unleashing the fierce and domineering nature of the *Mountain Splitting Spear Technique*.

It wasn’t just Huo Wanyang who was strong; he was too.

His Techniques were grand and sweeping, without a single wasted motion—clean and swift. Every strike was infused with terrifying power.

Mountain-Splitting Power was mixed within, its Flow of Power erupting from the spear’s tip.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!!

Great cleaves, devastating smashes, deep thrusts!!

Every strike carried terrifying force. Ao Feng struggled to parry with his Tang Cross Saber, trying to find an opportunity to counterattack with his Ghost Shadow Saber Technique.

But Lin Qi gave him no such opportunity.

’If this goes on, I’m going to lose!’

’Damn it, how is he so strong?’

Ao Feng gritted his teeth, utterly frustrated. He was no match in a direct confrontation and couldn’t find an opening to strike back.

If this war of attrition continued, his defeat was certain.

CLANG!

Ao Feng swung his Tang Cross Saber again, his speed suddenly increasing by a large margin.

He was worthy of his rank as fourth in the nation; his physical Talent was exceptional, as was his Combat Talent.

At the critical moment, he erupted again, seizing a fleeting opportunity to charge out, swinging the Tang Cross Saber in his hand, using a Killing Technique for a final gamble.

But it seemed Lin Qi had already anticipated it.

Gripping the spear with both hands, he unleashed the power in his arms as the large muscle groups in his body flexed in unison.

The ’great dragon’ of his spine straightened, his Great Tendons coiling like powerful springs before unleashing their power in a volcanic eruption.

The Black Great Spear shot forward explosively. Power erupted from its tip, tearing through the air with a piercing shriek.

It tore through the air, its speed pushed to the absolute limit, like a cone-shaped drill boring through solid rock.

*Mountain Splitting Spear Technique* Killing Technique—Rock-Splitting Cone!

Both sides launched their Killing Techniques at the same time. Lin Qi’s eyes were fixed only on Ao Feng, not far away.

’Faster!!’

Ao Feng’s eyes widened as he pushed himself to the absolute limit, trying to make his blade impossibly fast. If he could just strike Lin Qi first, he would have a chance to win.

CLANG!!

The blade and the Great Spear collided. In an instant, Power flowed, brushing aside Ao Feng’s own strength as the spear continued its linear thrust.

PFFT—

The sharp spear tip pierced the Combat Suit, impaled the heart, and blood splattered out.

The battle is over!

”I...”

Ao Feng’s refined face showed a look of disbelief; he hadn’t expected to actually lose.

Looking up at Lin Qi, he heard him say:

”I told you. You weren’t getting past me!”

PFFT—

Lin Qi pulled out his spear. Ao Feng fell, dissolving into the Void and vanishing into thin air.

[Match Two: Lin Qi (Sixth Institute) Wins]

An automated voice echoed from above the arena, announcing the final result.

In the stands of the Azure Sky Ninth Institute, Ao Feng collapsed back into his seat as if all his strength had been drained.

His friend beside him quickly tried to comfort him:

”Are you okay, Afeng!”

Ao Feng waved a listless hand. ”Just let me be for a moment.”

He couldn’t hear the sounds around him; all the excitement had nothing to do with him.

He seemed to have suffered a heavy blow.

’Lin Qi’s strength...’

’How could he be so strong?’

He was very puzzled. Thinking back on it now, he still felt helpless.

He was sure that his opponent was also around the Peak of the Second Realm, but his Body Technique, Spear Technique, and strength completely suppressed his own.

This was simply unimaginable. He was the one who was supposed to defeat Huo Wanyang.

’But I lost to Lin Qi. Doesn’t that mean I can only take third place now?’

...

CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!!!

In the sections of several institutes, thunderous applause and tsunami-like cheers erupted.

”Brother Qi is a badass!”

This voice came from the Azure Sky Sixth Institute’s section.

The stands were in an uproar.

”Lin Qi actually won!!”

”He beat Ao Feng, the man second only to Huo Wanyang, fair and square!” someone exclaimed in amazement.

”That Ghost Blade Ao Feng had no answer for Lin Qi at all. It seems Lin Qi is just too strong.”

”So now we know the two strongest freshmen.”

...

In the Azure Sky Second Institute’s area, Duan Chuchu also let out a breath and shook her head:

”It’s no wonder Ao Feng lost. Lin Qi is much stronger than him and has almost no weaknesses.”

”There was no way he could have won!”

”Who would have thought that Lin Qi would be the one to make it to the finals.”

...
