High Martial Arts: Grinding for the Supreme Talent

Chapter 206: Chapter 206: Victory!!

This gave Wu Yueze a bad feeling. According to his plan, Huo Wanyang was supposed to defeat Lin Qi with overwhelming force.

He should have forcefully taken the championship, claiming the top spot among the new students.

He was meant to display a level of strength that completely surpassed the other Deans, suppress his peers for all four years, and leave behind his own legend upon graduation.

But events had taken an unexpected turn.

”It seems this Huo Wanyang isn’t all that strong. He might even end up losing.”

The beautiful woman in purple also began to laugh. If you were to ask who most looked forward to Huo Wanyang’s defeat, she was one of them.

’If everyone loses together, it doesn’t feel so bad.’

”The situation is still unclear. Huo Wanyang should be getting serious now,” someone said slowly.

”Lin Qi is not weak in the slightest, either. His strength and speed are also incredible, no worse than Huo Wanyang’s.”

”His physical Talent is far greater than we imagined. He’s a size smaller, yet he can go head-to-head in a direct clash without being at a disadvantage,” an academy leader lamented.

They were envious. ’If only Lin Qi were the Dean of our institute,’ they thought.

”Let’s just keep watching!” Dean Liu said with a chuckle.

Lin Qi had already far exceeded his goals. Even if he lost, he would have no regrets.

But as he thought this, his fists, hidden beneath his robes, clenched tightly.

’No regrets my ass! I still want Lin Qi to win the championship. I’m no saint.’

If Lin Qi won the championship, their Azure Sky Sixth Institute would definitely not be short on Teaching Points.

The others all had varying expressions as they watched the battle in the arena intently.

Everyone was curious who would ultimately win the championship.

...

Meanwhile, in the stands, Deans like Ao Feng, Duan Chuchu, Li Lei, Ruan Qian, and Ruan Language were all completely focused on the arena.

Even with their insight, they couldn’t tell who would claim the final victory.

「On the spacious arena floor」

BOOM!!

The gleam of a spear and the shadow of a halberd collided, sending sparks flying. Both fighters were knocked back again, only to launch another attack.

Lin Qi swung his spear, its tip striking the blade of the Red Halberd with precision.

Huo Wanyang gritted his teeth, his expression savage. He swung his Great Halberd in a sweeping arc, pivoting at his waist to channel his entire body’s strength. The Great Halberd whistled past like a gale.

*Furious Wave Halberd Technique*—Sweeping Thousand Soldiers!

Lin Qi twisted his spear. Like an agile Flood Dragon, his Long Spear coiled up along the shaft of the halberd, attempting to disarm his opponent.

CLANG! CLANG!!

The two Weapons clashed again with a burst of Power.

Huo Wanyang abruptly pulled his Red Halberd back and leaped high into the air. The Red Halberd cut a cold glint through the sky as it chopped down with the force of a collapsing mountain.

Lin Qi sensed a terrifying killing intent. He exerted his full strength, muscles bulging and veins popping all over his body. His Black Great Spear shot up from the ground as he unleashed a thunderous Polearm.

BOOM!!

Another violent collision. The air cracked as Power crazily ground against itself.

This was the tenth consecutive move in their head-on exchange.

Huo Wanyang felt a terrifying force surge up from the ground, blasting him back. When his feet touched down, he couldn’t stop his body from retreating.

BAM!

The butt of his Red Halberd slammed into the ground, creating small cracks.

”Dammit!!”

Huo Wanyang’s muscles trembled as tyrannical power surged within him.

He gripped his Red Halberd with both hands, watching Lin Qi with a grave expression. His arms were numb, and the Qi Blood in his body roiled. He was shocked to his core:

’In this contest of strength, I actually lost!’

’My strength was suppressed by Lin Qi!’

’His—Lin Qi’s—strength is even greater than mine?!’

’In our ten direct clashes, I was the one being suppressed every time.’

He’d had Innate Divine Strength since he was a child, a power far beyond that of ordinary people. No one his age had ever been able to match him.

”Huo Wanyang, it’s time to end this battle!!” Lin Qi said in a low voice, brandishing his Black Great Spear.

He had completely surpassed his opponent in the very area Huo Wanyang was most proud of: his strength.

The outcome of this match was now predictable.

”Bring it on!!”

Huo Wanyang refused to believe he would lose.

His expression grew even more savage, his eyes turning crimson as he ferociously exerted his power.

His Qi Blood surged wildly. With a great shout, his aura reached its peak.

It was as if an Earth-Split Dragon had awakened within him. His muscles tensed in unison, and a vast Power circulated through his body.

He pivoted at his waist, spinning his Red Halberd to form an impenetrable defensive circle. Like a red tornado, he rapidly closed in on Lin Qi.

Lin Qi knew that Huo Wanyang was beginning to unleash his Killing Technique.

He did the same. Power erupted from his body like a volcano as he brandished his Black Great Spear. The Power circulating inside him continuously condensed, like a turbulent, surging tidal wave.

At the same time, he swung the Big Gun with both arms. His Mountain-Splitting Power erupted, grinding and compressing the surrounding air to form swirling vortexes.

The two tornadoes, one red and one black, rapidly converged.

Just as they were about to meet, Huo Wanyang stopped spinning. Carrying immense momentum, he unleashed the Furious Wave Strength he had developed from his Cultivation of the *Furious Wave Halberd Technique*.

The ferocious Power was released like a torrent, amplified by the force of his built-up momentum.

His Red Halberd swept out. A gale howled as the Sharp Blade tore through the air with a piercing shriek.

*Furious Wave Halberd Technique*’s Killing Technique—Sky-Splitting Break!

Lin Qi also gripped his spear with both hands. Using his own built-up momentum, he swung the Long Spear in a full, sweeping circle.

*Mountain Splitting Spear Technique*’s Killing Technique—Wave-Rolling Vortex Strike!

Both had seized the perfect moment to clash head-on once more!!

They pushed their strength to the absolute limit.

BOOM!!

The Red Halberd and the Black Great Spear collided, power pouring into them as sparks flew.

The air cracked, sending ripples expanding outward.

Huo Wanyang stared viciously at Lin Qi. He had to win.

But in the next instant, a terrifying power flooded his arms, and a sharp pain made them go numb.

The dreadful Power surged into his body, and a sweet taste rose in his throat.

His body stumbled back uncontrollably.

Lin Qi also felt the terrifying force, but his body was tyrannical. His Steel Bones and Iron Flesh Talent absorbed all of the Power, allowing him to withstand it.

He gripped his Black Great Spear and continued his fierce assault.

BAM! BAM! BAM!!

CLANG! CLANG!!

Huo Wanyang sensed extreme danger and could only grit his teeth and raise his Red Halberd to defend himself.

The Big Gun came down in a Heavy Slash, its attacks raining down like a violent storm.

Great Collapse, Great Cleave, Great Thrust!

He stumbled backward, his defensive posture completely broken.

”Huo Wanyang, it’s over!”

Lin Qi’s cold voice was like ten-thousand-year-old Cold Ice, freezing everything.

He thrust his spear forward with one hand, piercing the air, Tearing through it in a direct strike.

Huo Wanyang only saw a cold glint flash before his eyes and tried to block it.

’Move!!’

He roared inwardly, trying to defend himself, but his body had reached its limit. He couldn’t block this high-speed thrust.

BAM!!

The cold light pierced his heart, and blood sprayed from the spear’s tip.

Huo Wanyang’s body went numb. He stood rooted to the spot, staring at the Black Great Spear in front of him.

”You lose, Huo Wanyang!”

Lin Qi said calmly, tilting his head up.

The moment his voice fell, Huo Wanyang dissolved into the Void and vanished from the arena.

The arena fell silent once more!

Huo Wanyang was dead. The final match was over.
