Crossover Shipgirls: Building a Dimensional Empire from Scratch

Once Haruhi Suzumiya had begun trying to control her superpowers, training her became much simpler.

”Remember, the source of your power is different from everyone else’s. The most important thing is your desire.”

Setsuna personally guided Haruhi Suzumiya as she learned to sense and experience what it meant to manipulate ”information.”

Haruhi’s ability to alter and distort the world required no external energy whatsoever. It depended entirely on her own wishes.

The reason Haruhi Suzumiya had never previously reached the point of simply wishing things into existence or creating objects from nothing was because she had been constrained by common sense and by her identity as an ordinary person.

How could a normal human possibly possess the ability to casually create whatever they wanted?

Once she accepted her identity as an ”esper,” everything naturally began to fall into place.

”Hmm... Is it the power the Commander gave me that granted me superpowers? It feels like I can do a lot of things now.”

Although her understanding was somewhat mistaken, she had no hesitation at all when it came to using her ability.

Haruhi looked around at the surrounding environment.

This pocket universe had yet to be developed. The planet was barren and completely empty.

”Commander, are we going to stay here the whole time while I’m training?”

”Mm.”

”Hmm...”

She paused, then imitated what she had seen in anime by closing her eyes and pressing her palms together.

—Theoretically, none of that was necessary, but Haruhi felt that a little ritual made things more convincing.

Whoosh—

The planet beneath everyone’s feet began to twist and deform.

The sound of space shattering echoed around them.

”Information explosion.”

”Haruhi Suzumiya has triggered another information explosion. She is rewriting the information environment here according to her personal will.”

Yuki Nagato merely observed, showing no intention of interfering.

Hum...

The planet trembled.

Across the barren world, cracked earth gradually sealed itself. Clear spring water surged from the fissures and gathered into winding rivers, which in turn expanded into lakes and oceans in the blink of an eye, dividing the continents into several regions.

The dull sky turned a brilliant blue. Sunlight pierced the clouds, casting specks of green across the land. Tender shoots of grass emerged from the soil and rapidly spread into vast grasslands. Trees rose from the ground, their branches and leaves unfurling into dense forests.

All of it happened within a single breath.

At a speed visible to the naked eye, a complete biosphere was reconstructed across the planet.

Birdsong echoed through the air. Animals suddenly appeared from every direction. Butterflies broke free of their chrysalises and fluttered past the group on vivid wings, while the warm breeze carried a faint floral fragrance.

”My god.”

Himeko murmured in astonishment.

There were quite a few people in the Starsea Empire capable of feats akin to Genesis. Setsuna could use the authority of the Herrscher of Reason to create heaven and earth and even construct galaxies by hand. Tiamat could build a planet’s complete biosphere from scratch and interfere with biological evolution.

Haruhi Suzumiya only needed a single thought: I want this.

”Wow!—”

Successfully using her superpower again made Haruhi even more excited.

She bounced over to Setsuna.

”Commander, Commander, did you see that?”

”I wanted to make this planet’s environment a little nicer, and then, then it just...”

”Mm. You did very well.”

Setsuna nodded.

Looking around, this world had still been created according to Haruhi Suzumiya’s own common sense.

Its geological structure differed somewhat from Earth’s, but the flowers, plants, trees, birds, and animals were all common Earth species.

She had not let her imagination run completely wild.

”If there were a few more unusual things here, wouldn’t that be interesting?...”

Suddenly, a strange thought occurred to Haruhi.

Whoosh—

Space twisted again.

The ground split apart as a gigantic magical beast burst from beneath the earth. Its body was covered in scales, and its outstretched wings obscured half the sky.

Ripples spread across the ocean. Crystal-clear, translucent creatures surfaced from the sea, and every breath they took stirred up waves like roaring mountains and surging seas. Deep within the forest, tree trunks warped and transformed into thorn-covered vine monsters.

Dark clouds gathered overhead. Lightning tore across the sky as countless monsters that had once existed only in anime and movies condensed out of the void, roaring as they charged toward the group.

”Stop.”

Boom!—

Before they could fully manifest, Setsuna reached forward and clenched his hand. A tide of Imaginary energy swept across the entire world, instantly stabilizing the planet.

”Don’t let your imagination run wild.”

He patted Haruhi Suzumiya on the head.

”If your ability goes out of control, it’ll be troublesome.”

”Hmm...”

Haruhi puffed out her cheeks and thought for a moment.

”I... I just haven’t seen those monsters before. I wanted to see what they looked like?”

Crackle!—

The surrounding space began twisting again.

This was purely an unconscious ”wish” on her part.

Tap!—

Setsuna flicked Haruhi on the forehead.

”Whenever these strange ideas pop into your head, immediately change your mind. Don’t entertain thoughts about wanting them to become real.”

”And if they do become real, immediately erase their effects.”

”Oh...”

That command was somewhat difficult for Haruhi.

It was essentially asking her to actively control her own consciousness and prevent stray thoughts from causing uncontrollable distortions in reality.

And if something did happen, she also had to stop the alterations in time and restore the world to normal.

Crack, crack—

All kinds of bizarre ideas once again flooded her mind.

Concepts such as gods, angels, aliens, and demon lords surfaced one after another.

The surrounding spacetime became twisted into complete chaos.

Part of her desperately wanted to see all those strange and wondrous things, while another part, following Setsuna’s instructions, tried its utmost to suppress those thoughts.

Herta, Nagato, and the others accompanying them looked up to see an utterly surreal spectacle unfolding across the universe.

The stars shifted out of position. Spacetime fractured. Indescribably terrifying gods manifested from higher-dimensional space, only to be forcibly pushed back by Haruhi Suzumiya’s own thoughts the moment they began radiating even the slightest hint of power, vanishing without a trace.

The shattered fragments of space continuously reflected hundreds and thousands of possible transformations of the universe.

It was Haruhi Suzumiya fighting a battle against her own mind.

She was suppressing the unconscious, emotional wishes that kept arising and trying to reshape the world through deliberate intent instead.

If they had done this on Earth, the Milky Way would probably have been ruined beyond recognition already.

Fortunately, the pocket universe was independent from the outside world. She could wreak as much havoc here as she wanted.

”Haa—”

The tug-of-war continued for a full half hour. As the surrounding scenery became increasingly bizarre and Haruhi’s control continued to weaken, Setsuna stepped in again.

Imaginary energy surged outward, and everything returned to calm.

”So... so hard...”

Haruhi shook out her hair.

”It’s fine. You can practice slowly. I’ll stay with you.”

Setsuna gently patted her.

”Once you can truly control your power and use it freely, there will be a place for you in the Starsea Empire.”

”You’ll become a complete god.”

”Oh!”

Haruhi Suzumiya had developed a strong fondness for the older boy who was guiding her. He had shown her many things she had never known before and had even taught her how to use superpowers.

Without realizing it, she had become willing to follow his instructions. She didn’t want to make him angry, nor did she want to disappoint him.

She tried making a wish that she would directly gain this kind of control, but unfortunately, it did not work.

”Your very existence is special. Trying to control your own consciousness by interfering with reality is like trying to lift yourself into the air with your own hands.”

Setsuna saw through Haruhi’s little trick and laughed.

”Practice properly.”

”Oh...”

Haruhi Suzumiya looked somewhat dejected, but after thinking about it, having Setsuna stay with her didn’t seem so bad.

”Right!”

A flash of inspiration struck Gudako.

”Does that mean we can make wishes to Haruhi in the future? Like asking her to give us certain powers or create things for us?”

”Uh...”

Setsuna thought for a moment.

”Getting Haruhi Suzumiya to sincerely want to fulfill someone else’s wish is a little difficult. Right now, she can’t control her power that freely.”

”Simple wishes that she finds interesting might work. What do you want?”

”Ahem—”

Gudako pressed her palms together and solemnly made a wish to little Haruhi.

”Can you make me the Commander’s one and only official wife, the person he loves most?”

”???”

”Using unfair methods to compete for the Commander is strictly prohibited!”
