Crossover Shipgirls: Building a Dimensional Empire from Scratch

Boom—

The Astral Express broke through the atmosphere and slowly descended from high above.

After scanning the entire Earth, information about this world immediately appeared on the Transdimensional Star Chart.

[The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Tier III Magical World)]

The basic technological level of this world is near-space age. Humanity has generally not yet mastered space travel technology. Powerful individuals capable of interfering with the structure of the universe and spacetime exist.

Comparison of strength between both sides:

Military Strength: Like an Ant

Economic Power: Like an Ant

Technological Level: Like an Ant

”I knew it was you.”

Setsuna grinned as he looked at the newly illuminated region on the star chart.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, an old anime that had been around for quite a few years.

As the name suggested, the heroine of this world was Haruhi Suzumiya, a somewhat tsundere, naturally crazy girl with a rather eccentric temperament.

On the surface, this world was no different from an ordinary Earth civilization.

The overwhelming majority of people lived perfectly ordinary lives. Even Haruhi Suzumiya herself was merely a little girl who had just entered middle school.

In reality, however, this entire world revolved around Haruhi Suzumiya.

She possessed the ability to unconsciously make her wishes come true. Whatever she wanted could become reality.

Because she wished to meet time travelers, espers, and aliens, fractures in spacetime appeared throughout the universe, causing observers from the future to be dispatched to this era.

At the same time, espers were born because of Haruhi Suzumiya’s wishes, along with an esper management organization known as the ”Agency.”

The sheer power of her ability even attracted the attention of a certain extraterrestrial entity without a physical form that existed purely as information.

Whatever school Haruhi Suzumiya wanted to enter, she would inevitably get into. Whatever she wanted to obtain or encounter, she would inevitably obtain or encounter.

The only thing restraining her was that, as a human, she still retained the mindset that ’such things are impossible in reality,’ preventing her imagination from becoming too wildly unconstrained.

”Oh, it’s only a Tier III world, and all three categories say Like an Ant. No big deal.”

Gudako planted her hands on her hips, looking immensely proud.

She had also figured out that the core of this world was Haruhi Suzumiya. The entire world’s power level had effectively been raised by her alone.

Other than that, it was merely an ordinary slice-of-life world.

Thump—

Setsuna chopped her on the head with one hand.

”Those ratings measure the overall level of an entire civilization. Economically, the overwhelming majority of individual worlds could never compare to the Starsea Empire, which governs dozens of worlds.”

”The same goes for technology. We’ve unlocked the technological trees of numerous worlds, so even at the same overall tier, we’re vastly stronger than any single world. As for military strength, I think you should understand why.”

”With only the crew you’re carrying, if you somehow mess things up with Haruhi Suzumiya, you might not even be able to clean up the aftermath.”

Hum...

As they spoke, the Astral Express gradually descended above the athletic field of East Junior High.

”Oh—”

Haruhi Suzumiya, who had just finished her masterpiece below, was left staring blankly.

She tilted her head back and fixed her eyes on the dark-colored train.

”They actually came when I called?!”

”What is that? A train flying through the sky? How is it flying?”

”Am I hallucinating?!”

She rubbed her eyes, then pinched herself.

Although the Astral Express was far smaller than a proper starship, it was still enormous in the eyes of natives from a pre-space-age civilization.

Click—

The train’s hatch opened, and a set of anti-gravity floating steps extended all the way from the air to the ground.

Setsuna led the crew slowly down and greeted little Haruhi.

”Yo. Were you calling us?”

”Huh?”

Haruhi Suzumiya stared at Setsuna.

He was tall and handsome, far more mature than the boys at her middle school, while his clothing and bearing reminded her of the generals commonly seen in movies.

A group of beautiful girls followed behind him, each striking in appearance.

”Who are you?...”

She scratched her head in confusion.

”An alien. Weren’t you calling for us just now? You even drew a few weird symbols all over the athletic field.”

Setsuna smiled.

”Huh?!”

Haruhi Suzumiya raised her eyebrows and moved closer.

She looked Setsuna up and down several times, then shook her head.

”No, that’s wrong. Aren’t you human? Aliens don’t look like you.”

”They’re supposed to have huge heads, three or four eyes, wear spacesuits, and have who knows how many arms and legs. And when they talk, they should sound like foreigners so nobody can understand them...”

”Besides, aliens are supposed to come in UFOs. Why would you take a train to Earth?”

”...”

”Don’t rely on stereotypes.”

Gudako clicked her tongue.

Presumably, it was precisely because Haruhi rationally believed that the aliens in anime and movies were fake, merely products of special effects and an author’s imagination, that UFOs and grotesque creatures like those had never suddenly appeared on Earth.

If Haruhi Suzumiya sincerely ”believed” that Godzilla or some other monster existed, she could probably cause an enormous disaster on Earth...

After thinking for a moment, Gudako added a couple more explanations:

”There are bizarre-looking aliens in the universe, but there are also beautiful girls like me.”

”As for the Astral Express, we came from a much more distant world and arrived here from beyond this universe.”

”This thing was created by the Aeon of Trailblaze! An Aeon! Do you understand?! A god!!!”

”Oh?...”

The caution in Haruhi Suzumiya’s eyes gradually turned to confusion.

When she saw Jibril beside Setsuna and the incredibly futuristic structure of the Astral Express, her eyes suddenly lit up.

”Really?! That’s interesting!!”

Little Haruhi immediately became excited. She realized she had encountered genuine aliens and was even the first human in the entire world to communicate with extraterrestrials.

”Where are you from? Mars? Pluto? Or somewhere even farther away?”

”Can this train really fly? How fast can it go? Can I go inside and look around?”

”And have you met other aliens before? Have you ever fought aliens? Like spaceships and missiles going whoosh—bam!!! Boom!! like that?!”

She darted over to Setsuna’s side, gesticulating wildly as she bombarded him with questions.

She even rose onto her tiptoes and tried touching Setsuna, apparently wanting to find out what an alien felt like.

”Pfft—”

Setsuna rubbed Haruhi Suzumiya’s head.

It was obvious that her imagination regarding aliens was still rather limited, but a curious little thing like her was extremely easy to handle.

”We’ll be staying in this universe for a while to study this place. Are you interested in coming with us?”

”Yes!”

Even though Setsuna was a stranger she had only just met, curiosity completely overwhelmed her caution, and Haruhi Suzumiya agreed without hesitation.

”Mr. Alien... No, Alien Big Brother?”

”Can you take me somewhere else to look around?”

She pointed toward the starry sky above.

”This world is unbelievably boring! There’s nothing interesting about it at all! I want to go see the stars! I want to see space people and aliens! Are there other aliens in this universe?”

”If you could find Earth, then there must be other aliens too, right?”

Whoosh—

Haruhi Suzumiya remained innocently excited, but Setsuna and Herta both sensed a strange energy spreading outward with her at its center.

Far away among the stars of the universe, the world itself was beginning to change because of this girl’s sudden whim.
