Crossover Shipgirls: Building a Dimensional Empire from Scratch

[Mission Complete]

Almost at the same moment they landed, Setsuna received a system notification.

[World Mission: Date A Live]

Mission Objectives:

• Resolve the threat of the Spirit of Origin and eliminate the Spirits’ influence on the human world.

Mission Rewards:

• Spirit Sealing Technique.

[Reward Issued]

Whoosh—

A faint energy surged into Setsuna’s body.

This time, the reward wasn’t some kind of technology but rather a pure ability, meaning there were no schematics involved.

Setsuna glanced at the skill’s description once more:

[You can seal a Spirit’s power.]

[Once mastered, you can temporarily borrow the abilities and Angels of nearby Spirits.]

”…”

An improved version of the ability once possessed by Shido Itsuka.

”Interesting…”

Setsuna decided to experiment with the skill later.

The Spirits in Date A Live each had their unique abilities—the strongest being the First Spirit, Mio, whose Ain Soph could create a vast Arbitrary Domain.

Meanwhile, Ain Soph Aur, an even more absurd ability, could erase matter from existence at its root, essentially achieving god-like powers.

Other abilities, such as Kurumi’s time manipulation or Nia Honjo’s omniscience, were also incredibly useful.

As for sealing Spirit power…

It was probably intended to prevent certain individuals from causing trouble.

”Wait a minute! I have a question!”

Kurumi suddenly pointed at herself.

”In this world… are there two of me or just one?!”

”???”

Everyone turned their attention to her.

After all, Kurumi originally came from the 2011 timeline and had traveled to the past alongside Setsuna.

In the altered timeline, the young Kurumi never became a Spirit, as the First Spirit was taken away.

”So, does that mean there’s a human Kurumi and a Spirit Kurumi?!”

”No, wait... the fact that you’re still in Spirit form and haven’t reverted to being an ordinary human is already quite an anomaly.”

Nia pondered Kurumi’s dilemma, donned her Astral Dress, Yod, and pulled out Rasiel, her omniscient Angel.

She began searching through its pages.

It didn’t take long for the answer to appear.

”You are you. But your past has been altered. There is only one Kurumi in this world now.”

”Eh?!”

”What?!”

Everyone was taken aback, and even Setsuna leaned in with interest.

This kind of temporal paradox was fascinating to him.

Nia continued flipping through Rasiel at lightning speed, then looked up.

”According to what I’ve found, you’ve been living as an ordinary person in this world all along...”

”But there’s a gap in the records—roughly the period when you traveled from this world to 23 years ago.”

”Interesting. Could this be the world’s self-correction?”

Setsuna stroked his chin thoughtfully.

The Tome of Revelation, Rasiel, known as the omniscient Angel, could theoretically access all past information. However, it had limitations when dealing with extraterrestrial beings or those of higher dimensional levels.

Kurumi’s time travel stacked both these factors, plus her identity as the Spirit of Time, which could explain the inconsistencies in Rasiel’s records.

”Well, at least there are no clones to worry about—saves us some trouble.”

”Besides, you can create clones yourself, so it doesn’t really matter.”

Setsuna yawned.

”Eh? Speaking of which...”

Akashi suddenly thought of something.

”Doesn’t that mean your age is... 20? No, 30? Or maybe...”

”Woooo—”

Before she could finish, Kurumi dashed forward in a flash and covered Akashi’s mouth.

”It’s rude to discuss a maiden’s age!!!”

”No worries. In my household, you’re considered young.”

Setsuna chuckled, casually finding a chair and sitting down to watch the drama unfold.

”The shipgirls are all decades old at least. Some are centuries old, and there are even sailing ships that are a few hundred years old.”

”As for dragon girls... Your age probably isn’t even a third of Kanna’s. And Tohru here? She’s over a thousand times older than you. So, don’t worry about it...”

”...”

After finishing, Setsuna glanced at Kurumi again.

Tsk, after being around shipgirls so much, everyone else seems flat in comparison.

”It’s fine, though. Small is cute too. You can play with the destroyers.”

”???”

Kurumi felt deeply insulted.

...

After dealing with Kurumi’s minor episode, Richelieu turned to Setsuna.

”Commander, what’s our next move?”

”Also, do you have any specific plans for this world?”

”Hmm...”

Setsuna pondered for a moment.

”Since the Date A Live world has now entered a modern society, we can approach things more diplomatically.”

”There’s no need to conquer it through force like we did in the Demon Slayer world. We can support a nation by providing them with technology and equipment, using them as our proxy in this world.”

”Alternatively, we could directly establish a world government and bring them under our jurisdiction... We’ll decide on the specifics later.”

The pre-space age civilization here had a much higher level of productivity than the primitive society of Demon Slayer’s world.

Besides, this place could serve as a nice vacation spot. Bringing the shipgirls here for shopping and sightseeing once in a while would be quite entertaining.

No matter how beautiful the capital’s vast seas and starry skies were, seeing them too often could become monotonous. A change of scenery was always good.

”As for the remaining Spirits... we can bring them back one by one, just like we did with Nia.”

”So, it’s time to go home.”

Setsuna pulled out a dimensional anchor, setting up a node in the area to project the ship and prepare for their return.

With Rasiel’s precise tracking capabilities, combined with the Spiritron Transfer Device’s power to traverse space and time, he could essentially go anywhere—like a certain incubator, luring girls to become Spirits.

It wouldn’t take long before the entire Spirit family would be neatly gathered at the base.

”...Wait a minute.”

Nia processed Setsuna’s words and felt like something was off.

”Are you saying that my ability... is just to help you find naive girls and trick them into signing contracts to become Spirits?!”

”...”

Setsuna pondered for a moment.

”Aren’t you a manga artist? Don’t you think this would make an amazing story?”

”A girl obtains immense power through a contract, goes through various trials and tribulations, and ultimately saves herself and the world. Isn’t this idea way better than those things you’ve been drawing?”

”You’re right!”

Nia’s eyes lit up in realization.

”When I get back, I’ll make this my next manga project... hmm, but the story details need some tweaking.”

”The guy who tricks girls into signing contracts should look innocent but actually be incredibly evil—preferably some kind of alien with an adorable appearance...”

”He should be the mastermind behind everything. You look too righteous, the contrast isn’t strong enough.”

”Nice, I like it.”

Setsuna nodded approvingly and handed her a hand-drawn sketch.

”I’ve already designed the character for you—white fur, red eyes, pointy ears, a big fluffy tail... looks like a cute little white ferret. Isn’t it adorable?”

”Wow—this thing is adorable! It’d make such an impactful boss character!”

Nia instantly fell in love with the sketch and started bombarding Setsuna with questions.

”What species is it? What’s its name? Does it really exist? Will we be able to see it in other worlds?!”

”Since you can travel across worlds, can you take me to see it?!”

”...”

Setsuna fell silent for a few seconds.

”Its name is Kyubey. If you ever encounter it, run immediately—or better yet, call someone powerful to kill it on the spot.”
