Immortality Begins with Breathing Exercises

Crackle.

The firewood in the campfire burned with a crackling sound.

After binding the ferocious beast, Lin Zheyu continued grilling meat, the aroma of the barbecue mingling with the scents of cumin and chili powder, making one’s mouth water at the smell.

The ferocious beast, bound tightly beside him, stared fixedly at the grilled meat in his hands with wide eyes.

Rustle rustle.

It twisted its body, making slight noises.

Its small eyes were filled with longing.

”This little fellow is quite interesting!”

Lin Zheyu couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight of the beast still craving despite being captured.

When it was first caught, the beast constantly resisted, looking for opportunities to escape.

After getting a beating from him, it became more obedient.

Realizing that escaping was hopeless, the beast gave up struggling and looked eagerly towards the smell of the barbecue.

It was attracted by the aroma of the barbecue Lin Zheyu was cooking.

Lin Zheyu tugged on the rope, pulling the beast closer.

He removed the burlap stuffed in the beast’s mouth, then cut off a piece of grilled meat with a knife and tossed it over.

Poof—

The beast twisted its body, leaping up like a fish, and caught the grilled meat in its mouth.

Even though the meat was hot, it ate it joyfully, its face showing an expression of enjoyment, as if it had tasted the most delicious food in the world.

”Heh~”

Lin Zheyu laughed; this was the first time he had seen such an amusing beast.

This little guy seemed to disregard life and death, its eyes only on the barbecue, drooling with greed.

”Can you understand human speech?”

Lin Zheyu asked.

He suspected that such an intelligent beast might be someone else’s pet.

However, the beast gave him a glance, showing a human-like expression of doubt in its eyes, clearly not understanding his words.

It seemed not.

”Perhaps I can tame it into a pet.”

Lin Zheyu thought, looking at the beast nearby: ”Since you’re so dark, I’ll call you Xiaohei.”

”Xiaohei~”

Lin Zheyu called out and tossed the grilled meat in his hand.

He planned to see if he could tame this beast.

Although Lin Zheyu didn’t know much about the skills of taming beasts, he understood the principles.

Ferocious beasts and wild animals are different, but they both belong to animals. He could use the principle of Pavlov’s conditioned reflex from his past life, using gourmet food as bait to train the beast.

”Xiaohei~”

Chirp chirp~~

In the dense forest, Lin Zheyu’s voice continued along with the chirping of the beast.

The sky was getting light.

A thin mist shrouded the forest.

The campfire had already gone out, leaving only a pile of ashes.

Lin Zheyu had rested cross-legged all night, with the corpses of several beasts lying around.

These beasts had launched a surprise attack in the middle of the night, and unsurprisingly were easily slain.

”Xiaohei.”

Lin Zheyu called out.

Chirp chirp—

The sleeping beast jolted awake, opening its mouth and leaping up.

Once it landed, it opened its slightly dazed eyes and looked eagerly at Lin Zheyu.

”It wasn’t in vain that I trained it all night; there are some results.”

Lin Zheyu said with a smile.

He kicked the beast corpse on the ground over, and Xiaohei walked up to sniff it, showing a disdainful expression in its eyes.

Chirp chirp—hiss—

Xiaohei stood upright, waving its forepaws, pointing at the campfire ashes, chirping away.

Seeing that Xiaohei had no intention to escape last night, Lin Zheyu had untied its restraints, just leashing its neck with one end of the rope while holding the other end, allowing it to move within a small range.

If Xiaohei tried to run, Lin Zheyu could spot it immediately, and it would receive a severe beating.

After the beating, it would get a piece of grilled meat.

It’s like hitting with one hand and giving a sweet date with another.

With no real experience in beast taming, this was the only crude method he could try.

”Quite the picky eater as well.”

”First time eating cooked food and already scornful of raw meat?”

Lin Zheyu said with a smile: ”Xiaohei, sit down~”

Xiaohei looked at him doubtfully, as if trying to figure out the meaning of this command.

Seeing it not sitting down, Lin Zheyu manually helped it to sit, his Qi Blood power exploding as he pressed it onto the ground.

Sitting down, Xiaohei looked even chubbier.

This might be what Xiaohei’s kind of fierce beast naturally looked like.

Otherwise, how could a beast so plump have such speed? It was quite extraordinary.

Hiss—

Pressed down to sit on the ground, Xiaohei bared its teeth at Lin Zheyu in displeasure, its ferocity showing.

Though more intelligent than ordinary fierce beasts, it’s still a beast and inherently vicious.

Bang!

Without thinking, Lin Zheyu slapped it directly.

Xiaohei was sent flying by the massive force, but the rope around its neck tightened sharply, preventing it from flying too far.

The slap was powerful.

Not knowing what kind of beast Xiaohei was, its skin was tough and thick, very resilient.

If Lin Zheyu didn’t use the Mountain Shattering Palm, a full-strength blow could only inflict light injuries, at most breaking one or two bones, but nothing serious.

After being slapped away, Xiaohei shakily got up.

A hint of ferocity and savagery flashed in its eyes, instinctively wanting to bare its teeth at Lin Zheyu, but it quickly settled down.

A human-like fear flashed in its small eyes.

Xiaohei remembered the fear of being dominated by Lin Zheyu the previous night.

Though its skin was tough, Lin Zheyu’s powerful slaps caused excruciating pain, and recalling the previous night’s experience, its body shook slightly.

However, recalling the delicious grilled meat from last night, it couldn’t help but drool. It was the first time in its beast life it had tasted such delicious food.

”Xiaohei, sit down.”

Lin Zheyu ordered again.
