Immortality Begins with Breathing Exercises

Chapter 176: Chapter 93: Discovery

The cave was extremely eerie.

Normally, even if caves in the mountain forests don’t have wild beasts, they would still become habitats for various insects and small animals.

However, Lin Zheyu didn’t even find a spider.

Except for dust, the cave was frighteningly clean, with no other living creatures.

Lin Zheyu cautiously surveyed his surroundings, holding a torch, and slowly made his way deeper into the cave.

His pace was slow, with Qi Blood power brewing in his legs, ready to flee at any moment.

”Will ghosts appear?”

Lin Zheyu wondered silently.

He was quite interested in the ghosts of this world, as they might give him a glimpse into some secrets of the immortal path in this world.

Whoosh...

After advancing about three meters, the sound of wind arose in the cave.

It was the sound of a gale sweeping past outside the cave.

Although it didn’t rain at night, a strong wind had picked up, and there might be a torrential downpour late at night.

The deeper he went, the thicker the uncomfortable, sinister aura became, constantly penetrating his body.

If an ordinary youth who hadn’t trained in martial arts spent the night in the cave, they would wake up extremely ill the next day.

However, with Lin Zheyu’s strength, it had no impact on him.

Having reached the level where Qi Blood is like a tiger, his internal Qi Blood was extremely powerful. Just the Qi Blood Gauze hidden within his flesh could easily dispel the influence of this sinister aura.

In no time, he reached the depths of the cave.

He found nothing.

The ghosts he imagined didn’t appear, leaving him somewhat disappointed.

”Strange, there’s no haunting, so why is there such a powerful sinister aura? Could this be the legendary place of extreme yin?”

Lin Zheyu pondered.

He held up the torch, illuminating every inch of the cave walls, hoping to find some clues.

However, the cave was empty. Besides the skeletons on the ground, there was nothing unusual.

Lin Zheyu took a deep breath, cleared his mind of distractions, closed his eyes, and carefully sensed the sinister aura in the cave.

Tap, tap, tap.

He stepped in the direction where the sinister aura was strongest.

”This sinister power seems to be emanating from here.”

Lin Zheyu carefully sensed the sinister power and walked to a wall on the right side of the cave, where the sinister power was most intense.

”Interesting, could there be a living corpse hidden inside?”

Lin Zheyu thought to himself.

Suppressing the urge to punch through the wall to investigate, Lin Zheyu backed up a few steps and sat cross-legged near the cave entrance.

If there really was a living corpse inside, breaking the wall to dig it out now would not be a good choice.

Based on information he found from various folklore and inquiries with Xu Qin Yi and others, he knew that living corpses are most active and powerful at night.

Lin Zheyu decided to wait until noon the next day, when the sun was at its peak, to break through the wall and investigate.

If it was still raining the next day, he would wait a few more days for the sun to come out before exploring.

”At midnight, will something monstrous rush out from inside?”

Beware of the depths of the cave, he thought to himself, keeping his guard up.

He didn’t sleep, instead sitting cross-legged, practicing the Turtle Breath Skill, lowering his body’s aura to its minimum, constantly wary of the depths of the cave.

Drizzle...

It started pouring rain outside at midnight.

The wind blew, and rainwater drifted into the cave.

Lin Zheyu got up and moved further into the cave, continuing to sit cross-legged, pretending to nap.

There was no unusual movement from the cave’s depths, but he wasn’t off guard because of it. With his strength, he could go five days and nights without sleep without issue.

Chirp chirp chirp

Squeak squeak squeak

Morning.

The forest was filled with the sounds of birdsong.

After last night’s rain, mist arose in the forest.

Lin Zheyu got up, stretched, glanced at the cave depths, and walked out.

Nothing happened last night, so quiet that it left him a bit disappointed.

The rain had stopped, but the ground was all muddy.

With a light tap of his toes, Lin Zheyu leapt, swiftly moving through the forest.

Eee-eee-eee

The sound of a bamboo whistle echoed through the forest.

In his waiting time, Lin Zheyu continued studying the Mountain Shattering Palm.

The rain had stopped today, but the sun was nowhere to be seen.

The weather was overcast, as if it might rain again at any moment.

Lin Zheyu switched to several places, yet still hadn’t met the person he was waiting for; not a shadow of them, barely encountering any beasts.

Compared to Beast Roar Mountain, the beasts here were extremely scarce and not very strong.

The sky darkened.

Night at Dabashan was extremely quiet; many fierce beasts emerged in the forest, starting to hunt for food.

Whoosh!

A vicious beast that suddenly pounced out was split in half by a flash of cold light.

Lin Zheyu glanced at the beast’s corpse on the ground, not intending to take it back.

Right after rain, with the sun not out, the forest’s trees were extremely damp, unsuitable for barbecuing.

Choosing a direction, Lin Zheyu headed down the mountain.

The direction he moved towards wasn’t the cave filled with the sinister aura, but another direction.

While searching for someone during the day, Lin Zheyu discovered another cave.

This cave appeared to be man-made, with traces of human inhabitation inside.

As for the original cave, Lin Zheyu planned to explore it again after some time.

He was still going to stay in Dabashan for more than ten days, and time was plenty, so there was no rush.

”It’s time to gather Source Power again,” Lin Zheyu said to himself.

In the daytime, while searching for someone, he hadn’t enough time, so he could only return to the cave at night to break through his limits.

This cave was very spacious, almost thirty square meters, enough for his cultivation needs.
