Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1300: Chapter 52: Blade_3

This type of Mecha has not yet been widely equipped in Jiepeng. At present the Empire is mass‑producing the Tenth Generation [Black Cloud] Mecha. This kind of Mecha is extremely expensive and cannot be manufactured in large quantities; only officers at company level and above in the twenty divisions of the Royal First Guard are issued with it. And Vego’s unit here, because of several speed‑enhancing modifications he requested, is many times more costly.

Although Jiepeng’s technological accumulation cannot compare with the two superpowers, and in terms of performance the Anubis Mecha has not fully reached the standard of an Eleventh Generation Mecha, in Vego’s view the gap is only extremely tiny. This slight disparity just needs final refinement to close; in terms of platform technology, Anubis is already an Eleventh Generation Mecha!

When the Suss Empire’s Tenth Generation Mecha was still in its late research phase, the appearance of Anubis was the pride of the Jiepeng Empire.

Bear in mind, the Eleventh Generation Mecha of the Feiyang Republic was only successfully developed two years ago. Aside from the two superpowers, the only one that truly possesses Eleventh Generation Mecha right now is Jiepeng. Even Chuckna, the Naga Federation and the Ryan Republic are only at the prototype testing stage in their own Eleventh Generation Mecha programs.

If they can win the Resk Battle, if the Empire can obtain more resources and gain more time, then the future will belong to more and more warriors like himself and to the world of Anubis.

Vego does not like sitting in a Command Mecha directing combat. Whenever battle erupts, he always prefers to pilot his Anubis to some high vantage point and look down over the battlefield. At the most critical moment, he personally pilots his Mecha to lead his unit and deliver the most lethal strike to the enemy, making the enemy despair from a height they can never hope to reach. That feeling is truly wonderful.

Staring at the Mecha before him, Vego thought of those White Mecha he’d seen earlier in the video footage, the few that had roamed unhindered through the 59th Division’s Mecha Group. His blood was gradually boiling, while at the corner of his mouth there was only a cold smile.

He wondered where those ten White Mecha were right now. If the enemy wants to pull the same trick inside the Second Armored Division, they’ll soon realize what a grave mistake they’ve made!

”Division commander...” a staff officer reported, ”Deputy division commander Major General Sablin has already led Blade Camp to latch onto the enemy. The enemy has about one company; their combat power is very strong. Our Second Regiment’s Second Battalion has lost more than ten security squads along the outer picket line.”

”Oh?!” Vego took the loss report from the staff officer’s hand, somewhat surprised.

Ten security squads means fifty Mecha. In just this brief ten‑odd minutes, a company‑sized enemy can annihilate nearly two platoons of the Second Division’s Elite Mecha Warriors—this he found hard to believe. No one knew the caliber of the warriors under his command better than he did!

”Division commander, we’ve discovered three White Mecha among the enemy.” The staff officer pulled up a newly extracted battlefield recorder video and played it; the moment he saw those three White Mecha, Vego’s expression immediately grew grave.

How could they be here? Could it be that what appeared on his eastern flank really is the Chuckna main force?! But if it is the Chuckna main force, why, after first contact with our forward reconnaissance squad, did they not immediately disappear, and instead attack the flank of our central column here?

Is this an attempt to lure his attention from the west to the east, or was their main force originally here and, after that first sudden contact, they simply went along with the mistake, playing games to confuse him into making the wrong judgment?

”Where is Blade Camp now?” Vego asked urgently. He never underestimated the enemy; sending out the strongest unit of this Armored Division was precisely because he wanted to pin down these Jiechakna people on the eastern side.

But now, he suddenly realized that what he’d done still might not be enough.

If that one company has three White Mecha, then how many Chuckna Forces are actually behind them?! And where are the other seven White Mecha?

”Here!” The staff officer’s finger pointed at a gorge beside Hill 132 on the electronic map.

Two forces, one in pursuit, one in retreat.

The Black Jiepeng Mecha surged forward like a tide. On both wings, two Anubis units led dozens of Mecha, rapidly thrusting forward, attempting to swing around ahead and cut off the frantically fleeing Red Mecha.

The rear formation of the Red Mecha Group periodically clashed in fierce engagements with the vanguard of the pursuing Black Mecha Group. One after another, Red and Black Mecha crashed down while racing along. Within the Mecha Group, three White Thunderbolt units charged left and right, desperately suppressing the pace of pursuit of the Black Mecha Group.

The energy cannon light streaked back and forth; geysers of dirt thrown up by the explosions rained down in sheets.

Cosmo, concealed behind a slope, stared intently at the surging metal tide below the mountain. Fatty, meanwhile, was in a valley several kilometers away, grinding his teeth, his expression shifting unpredictably.

”Blade!”

The combat power of a Special Forces Camp can, under special circumstances, be equivalent to five battalions. Even in frontal combat it is the equivalent of three battalions. This is the Second Armored Division’s most powerful force.

From the moment they meet, it will be a bloodbath whose ferocity can already be foreseen.

In the end, do they fight or not?!

. It’s past midnight and I still haven’t hit six thousand words; writing speed is too damn slow, I’m crying here. Before I run off bawling I’m begging for monthly tickets. We’re already just a tiny step behind that plump White Goose’s juicy butt. Let me blow up his chrysanthemum while I’m crying.
