Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1273: Chapter 42: Morning Light (Part 3)

The development of Mecha has led to profound changes in combat modes. As the neutralizing capability of energy shields becomes more powerful and Mecha speed continues to increase, the decline of long-range attacks heralds the rise of close combat. At this critical period of transformation, these three Mechanical Gods truly exemplify what close combat means!

Once they charge into the Mecha Group, ordinary Mech Knights are utterly powerless to fight back!

Their hand speed and control skills bring their Mecha to life. Those familiar Mecha forms, performed by them, no longer seem mechanically rigid.

When they move, the Mecha’s steps become so swift that their figures are impossible to catch. If they wish, not even a speck of dust will be stirred at their feet.

When they throw a punch, the entire force of the Mecha, transmitted through joints and levers, concentrates as one, augmented by the Mecha’s inertia, becoming virtually unstoppable. When they strike at extreme speed, the fist is no longer like rolling thunder but a hidden dagger leading the roaring wind. By the time the opponent hears the sound, their Mecha is usually already destroyed.

Their every move is so fluid and graceful. While an ordinary Mech Knight completes one maneuver, they have already finished three, five, or even ten. On the battlefield, this is the gap that decides life and death!

In the Jiepeng Mecha Group, with the fall of twelve Spirit Cats, three white figures, ignoring the surrounding Mechas, rose tall and darted forward through the gaps like three swimming dragons.

Everyone saw only a flash of white light, and the three Mechas had ghostly appeared in front of the Command Mecha.

”Boom!” A huge explosion shook the earth. Under everyone’s gaze, the iron fists of three Thunderbolts punched into the Command Mecha’s body simultaneously from three directions.

As the skyward flames illuminated the stunned and motionless Jiepeng Mechas, a single thought remained in everyone’s mind — how many troop numbers will be wiped out under these people’s fists in the future?

The sounds of cannons in the cotton and flax crop area gradually calmed down. The distant mountains and forests remained shrouded in mist. Only the rolling black smoke behind the woods reminded people of the earth-shaking battle that had just occurred in that direction.

Was it that rumored force?

In this battle, whose mere sound was nerve-wracking, how many enemies did they face?

Did they win or lose?

Various questions roiled in the minds of the residents of the Flyns Agricultural District.

Standing at the street corner of the small town with only ten streets, looking at their all-too-familiar neighbors, everyone’s eyes undisguisably showed worry.

The Jiepeng people do not fight among themselves. Regardless of which force is fighting over there, they are too close to Beiguan City.

One hundred and twenty kilometers, almost within earshot. Upon receiving news, it would take the Jiepeng Forces from Beiguan City less than three hours to assemble and arrive here. The 5th Resource Highway runs directly through the Flyns Agricultural District!

Women, children, and the elderly have been gathered and evacuated into the valley east of town. There, people of the agricultural district live in workhouses and machine warehouses during their daily work.

The men have taken out the most powerful weapons they could muster from their homes, gathering outside the agricultural company’s building at the town entrance.

These men, dressed in jackets and work clothes, silently fiddled with the weapons in their hands.

The weapons were diverse, ranging from old energy guns to hunting bows, crossbows, and daggers, sports competition javelins, homemade Molotov cocktails, and even antique gunpowder weapons. There were even a few agricultural mechs and two Engineering Mechas. Saying these things were for battle would be less accurate than saying they were to ensure a glorious death.

Flyns Agricultural District is not a major traffic route, nor does it hold tempting wealth or resources, and it has long been overlooked. From the beginning of the war till now, although many have died in the War Fire, this small town has remained intact. As long as invaders have no interest in this place, it is an idyllic sanctuary in this chaotic world.

But now, the flames of war have reached the doorstep.

The Jiepeng people might have no interest in this small town in ordinary times, but when enraged, they would shoot any Chuckna person before them and destroy any building. Those damned bastards would do anything in a fit of anger.

Rather than be slaughtered like cattle and sheep, it’s better to fight to the death.

Within every Chuckna man’s bones lies the spirit of battle. This spirit has never vanished, even during long periods of peace. This is a nation loyal to family; to defend their homeland, wives, and children; to protect the honor and dignity of the nation; even if it means opposing Mechas with the flesh, they would not hesitate.

This is also why when two remnants of the exiled Chuckna forces fled into the mountains, the Jiepeng people pursued them desperately! To these occupiers, they face the gaze of Chuckna people every day, one full of hidden resentment amidst calm. This is a power that could explode at any moment. And the two remnants of the Chuckna forces might become the spark that ignites this power at any given time!
