The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 710: Chapter 710: Black-faced Soldier

Ji You had a thousand and ten thousand reasons to distrust Teacher Mu’s integrity.

The students’ supplies were all confiscated and piled up in this warehouse. After the assessment ends, will they be returned to the students? Or is there some condition that must be met for their return? And how are the students supposed to handle their food and daily necessities in the meantime?

From the camp to the warehouse, Ji You had already roughly scoped out the path and found absolutely no wild plants or animals to scavenge, and no tools to use...

How would food be handled during the final assessment?

Clearly, since Teacher Mu took the students’ supplies, there’s no way he intends to kindly return them.

Could it be—

That when the time comes, you’d have to go through great effort to reclaim your own belongings, or meet certain conditions to exchange for them?

This thought crossed her mind, and Ji You suddenly shivered.

Because—

She really believed that this speculation was likely true.

At this moment—

Upon hearing Ji You’s explanation, the Black-faced Soldier, with a stern face, said word for word, ”This batch of your supplies does not come under our jurisdiction. For the specifics, you can consult Teacher Mu.”

Ji You quickly replied, ”I understand, thank you so much, big brother.”

Upon hearing her words, the Black-faced Soldier continued to keep his mouth shut.

After placing their items, Ji You and co. didn’t dare to delay and immediately left the warehouse in a hurry to rush back to camp to start moving things again.

Mu Jianling saw that of the 10 people from Ji You’s group who had left, only 6 returned. She wasn’t the least bit surprised, didn’t say anything, just glanced at them and then lowered her head back to look at the Light Computer.

Ji You, leading her teammates, appeared to be frantically moving items, but from the corner of her eye, she kept an eye on Teacher Mu. After noticing that Teacher Mu showed no reaction to the fact that there were 4 people missing from her side, Ji You breathed a sigh of relief.

”Hurry up!”

”No slacking off.”

”Let’s move it quickly.”

Ji You stuffed items into the Space Button while urging her teammates.

At that moment—

A fit and rugged-faced boy came over. Ji You sensed someone approaching, looked up, saw it was Yu Yi, and smiled, saying, ”Don’t ask, won’t tell.”

Yu Yi: ”...”

Yu Yi’s mouth twitched, and he softly said, ”Ji You, I haven’t said anything yet.”

Ji You chuckled and said, ”What could you possibly say? You just want some intel from me, right? But I really don’t know anything. What can I say?”

Yu Yi: ”...”

With Ji You’s carefree demeanor, she was indeed proving to be a tough nut to crack.

After thinking it over, Yu Yi, instead of going after Ji You, squatted down to help Ji You’s team move items, hoping to use the guise of helping to probe for useful information from Ji You’s teammates.

However—

Whether it was Sheng Qingyan, Yue Qiyuan, Lou, or Lance, even the straightforward Yue Qiguang, helped with everything by the book, but getting information? Sorry! None to be had!

Yu Yi stayed busy for several minutes, but wasn’t able to dig out anything useful and had no choice but to retreat defeated.

Once again running towards the warehouse, Ji You praised her teammates highly, saying, ”Guys, I’m very satisfied with everyone’s performance just now.”

”Cough cough...”

”But everyone must remember to stay humble and vigilant at all times, be cautious, and treat all classmates other than our 10 people as enemies. Against enemies, be as ruthless as the autumn wind sweeping away fallen leaves! In any case, the information we know should not be exchanged with others, unless they offer something substantially beneficial.”

Lou couldn’t help but say, ”Just now, Yu Yi helped us load things, right?”

Ji You looked at him like he was an idiot and said loudly, ”That little favor? Just the lift of a finger and a bit of effort, does that count as help? Does that count as a substantial benefit?”

Lou: ”...”

Ji You immediately turned to Lance and instructed seriously, ”Lance, since you and Lou are such good buddies, you’re in charge of keeping an eye on him. Don’t let this big guy get lured away and sold just for a piece of candy, okay?”

Lou: ”...”

Lou twitching the corner of his mouth, said, ”Am I that naive?”

”Wrong!” Ji You couldn’t help but raise her hand to pat Lou’s shoulder and sighed, ”I think you’re even more naive than Yue Qiguang!”

Yue Qiguang’s eyelids twitched as he cursed, ”You moron, number 4444, talk about yourself, why drag me into this?”

Did I offend you?

Did I get in your way?

Besides, how am I naive?

...

Yue Qiguang felt a surge of anger inside.

Ji You grinned and said, ”Among our team, it’s easiest to illustrate a point by comparing with you.”

Yue Qiguang: ”...”

In any case, on the second trip transporting supplies, the expressions on Lou and Yue Qiguang were not very pleasant, as if they were constipated for a week, especially Yue Qiguang, whose complexion looked foul.

The second trip.

With familiar paths, Ji You and other warriors not on guard duty led the team straight to the warehouse location, placed down the Space Button and the gear they carried over, and then, began the third trip.

Time was tight, and finally, on the third trip, all supplies were loaded.

After everything was placed in the warehouse, Ji You watched the Black-faced Soldier lock the large warehouse door right in front of her.

Ji You said in a hurry, ”Brother, thank you for your trouble.”

The Black-faced Soldier shook his head.

Facing such a silent, tight-lipped, and serious-looking brother of a warrior, Ji You checked the time and found there were a few minutes to spare, so she thickened her skin and asked, ”Brother, could I... perhaps get some water to drink?”

The Black-faced Soldier: ”...”

Ji You touched her stomach, and a blush unconsciously drifted across her face, ”We... haven’t had a drop of water or a grain of rice since we got here, it’s kind of unbearable now...”

Not just Ji You, but also Sheng Qingyan, Yue Qiyuan, Yue Qiguang... all showed pitiful expressions, staring at the Black-faced Soldier.

The Black-faced Soldier’s dark face showed no hint of emotional fluctuation.

Silence.

Just when Ji You almost thought her plan had failed, suddenly—

The Black-faced Soldier raised his hand and took out six bottles of water and six packs of military biscuits from the Space Button and handed them to the six members of Ji You’s group.

The eyes of Ji You and the others suddenly lit up.

The Black-faced Soldier kept a straight face, his voice flat and unemotional, and said, ”Take it.”

This Black-faced Soldier, although he looks stern on the surface, is truly warm-hearted on the inside.

Ji You felt a bit regretful inside for acting pitiful to trick him for food, but what’s done was done. She immediately took the lead in thanking him profusely, and the others followed suit. Sheng Qingyan, in particular, once he got some food, completely forgot his decency, and kept calling him ”brother” so affectionately it could have confused anyone who didn’t know better into thinking the Black-faced Soldier was really his blood brother.

To all this, the Black-faced Soldier still didn’t utter a word.

After bidding farewell to this 3-star warrior brother, Ji You and her group made their way back to the camp and met up with Shen Changqing and others along the way. Then, Shen Changqing’s group shared the information they had gathered on the road with everyone.
