The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 706: Chapter 706: We’re Doomed!

Continuing.

Ji You strides ahead, running at the very front of the team. Those present, including students from other groups, watch her petite figure with sighs of emotion:

”Participant 4444 really doesn’t stand out in terms of physical strength. Before, any random person from the 131st batch of the Combat Department would have been stronger than her.”

But what about now?

It’s only been one semester, just a few short months, yet she has already surpassed most of the others.

What she has invested is evident to everyone.

That figure who, come rain or shine, steadfastly runs in her tank top every morning...

That girl in the training room, who gets teased and joked about time after time, yet whose optimism is as thick as city walls...

The girl who has fallen countless times, who has gotten back up just as many, who never complains, only sheds blood and sweat...

...

Ahem...

During this semester, 4444 has been doing the same daily activities as all the other students, but her improvement is just clearly more significant!

Stronger than everyone else!

Suddenly, everyone clenches their teeth and sprints forward—

Running along, Ji You suddenly realizes she’s about to end up at the very back of the large group again and can’t help but scowl: ”What the heck?”

But she still endures, maintaining her own pace.

Despite this, Ji You still managed to keep the advantage she had created, not being left behind by everyone. Sadly, her physical strength truly was inferior to these beasts with an average height of 2 meters.

About 40 minutes later, the results are in.

The team led by Yu Yi comes in first place.

Yu Song’s team takes second place.

The third place...

Ji You’s team ranks 30th.

After stopping, her teammates look at Ji You with a mixture of grievances:

Yue Qiguang: ”Dad really knows nothing about stupid captains.”

Yue Qiyuan: ”Where’s the greatness you promised?”

Zhang Yexiao: ”Don’t make it hard for her. For this little one to secure the 30th spot isn’t bad.”

Chu Jiaojiao’s face is almost wrinkling like a steamed bun, yet insincere, she says: ”Although student Ji You has short legs, it doesn’t detract from your good looks.”

Sheng Qingyan rolls her eyes in disdain: ”Yuck, the cutest in the universe got dragged down, I don’t care, I’m not doing anything you guys ask later.”

”Cough...” Shen Changqing: ”Now is not the time for blame, we should think about how to set up our shelter.”

Ji You with a dark face finally hears a sensible remark and is moved, but, suddenly, she hears Shen Changqing continue: ”Being slowed down by student Ji You, the locations we can choose for our shelter are not ideal.”

Ji You: ”...”

Forget about being moved. That can go to hell.

And then—

Out of the ten people, only Xuzhou steps forward quietly, saying: ”There are trees here for wood, and stones that can be used, I’ll go move some over before they’re all taken.”

More than nine hundred people!

Resources are limited; once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Reminded by this, Ji You immediately says: ”Divide the work! Divide the work, groups of two, two groups responsible for finding materials, two groups responsible for laying the foundation and construction, one group responsible for the meals tonight!”

”Quick! Quick! Quick!”

The others understand, and with Ji You’s arrangements, everyone gets moving.

The reaction of Ji You’s group might not be fearfully fast, but the people in the other groups aren’t stupid either, a whole lot of them spring into action. The small plot of land marked out by Mu Jianling is quickly chosen by the students, and they started to energetically set up camp.

Ji You was short and not physically strong, so she consciously took on the task of managing the food.

Shen Changqing was responsible for selecting the location to build the shelter, and he chose a very flat grassland that was about 1000 meters from the water source, which made fetching water particularly convenient.

Mu Jianling did not intervene in the students’ decisions; she merely stood by with her arms folded, watching occasionally with a faint smile on her lips.

This smile was somewhat cold, a bit odd, inexplicably giving off a villainous vibe.

Ji You shook off the goosebumps on her body and approached Shen Changqing, saying, ”Shen Changqing, what do you think about changing our location?”

Shen Changqing puzzled: ”Change?”

Ji You pursed her lips and said, ”I always have a bad premonition.”

After a moment of silence, Shen Changqing said, ”Okay.”

Ji You stroked her chin and added, ”Don’t choose places where the terrain is too low.”

”Nor places that are too steep.”

”Those high-tech tents and protective shelters, don’t use them.”

”And more...”

Ji You did her best to cover all potential issues she could think of.

Hearing Ji You’s words, Lou blinked his deep blue eyes and remarked, ”Do we need to be this nervous?”

Ji You didn’t reply, but Yue Qiguang, that dimwit, suddenly had a flash of insight and said, ”We need to be on edge! Who knows what kind of dark schemes that nasty old woman is harboring within?”

At this remark, an inexplicable chill crept into everyone’s heart, and Yue Qiguang sneakily glanced towards Mu Jianling, only to meet her gaze directly.

Yue Qiguang: ”...”

Yue Qiguang immediately declared loudly, ”Teacher Mu is sagacious and invincible. It would be strange if just any dummy could see through her thoughts!”

Ji You and the others: ”...”

Great.

Admitting you’re a dummy.

Only then did Mu Jianling turn her gaze away.

Ji You: ”You’re seriously a coward.”

Yue Qiguang exhaled deeply and patted his chest, saying, ”Dad’s not being a coward, this is just going with the flow.”

After saying that, realizing that nobody believed nor paid attention to him, Yue Qiguang got anxious and couldn’t help but curse, ”Damn!”

Next, due to the wariness toward Teacher Mu, Shen Changqing and Ji You discussed with others and selected a location near several trees, surrounded by relatively flat terrain, but further away from the water source, from the limited options available.

Xuzhou’s group was responsible for transporting materials, Shen Changqing roughly designed a plan and then began constructing the dwelling.

Ji You, with Sheng Qingyan who had volunteered to follow her, searched the vicinity and temporarily didn’t find any edible food, so they had no choice but to consolidate the food everyone had brought with them.

Like Ji You and others, many groups chose to build shelters, and some had brought outdoor tents which were safe, comfortable, and convenient. Why go through the trouble of building a shelter? Therefore, many gave up the idea of building one...

Some groups, such as Yu Yi and Penny’s team, considering the ample food in everyone’s backpacks and Space Buttons, were unconcerned about the food supply and focused solely on building their shelters.

...

Faced with the unknown, the students each made their own arrangements.

hours later, Mu Jianling suddenly said, ”Everyone stop!”

The students had no choice but to put down what they were doing.

Mu Jianling said, ”Hand over all the food, tents, sleeping bags... that you brought from Lanyue Star!”

”Ah?”

The students were collectively dumbfounded, full of question marks: ”???”

Mu Jianling huffed lightly, ”Didn’t hear me?”

The students stared in disbelief: ”!!!”

Damn!

This seems like the end is nigh!!!
