The silence didn’t last. For Lindsay, silence never brought peace. In this house, it meant her parents had either passed out from liquor or hidden from the police. It left her alone with the crushing weight of her family’s survival.

”Jessica? Jessica?” Lindsay’s tiny voice whispered into the darkness. Suffocating anxiety crept back as the evening’s adrenaline faded. ”Dorothy?... Beyoncé?”

No one answered. The older girls remained dead to the world, exhausted by the emotional lifting and fun they had required to keep Lindsay smiling.

A soft rustle broke the quiet. Lindsay crawled from the edge of the mattress. Her bare feet touched the carpet, and she tiptoed to Marvin’s form.

She wasn’t just seeking romance; her fractured psychology sought an anchor. She needed proof her protector hadn’t vanished. She lifted the edge of his blanket and slipped underneath, pressing her trembling body against him.

She hugged his torso and buried her face into his chest with a shuddering sigh. His skin radiated an unnatural warmth and scent. The stillness of his breathing signaled an aura that enveloped her in safety. Her frame molded against him, her legs tangling with his under the covers.

Lindsay froze.

A pair of glowing, nebula-blue eyes stared back at her in the dim light. Her body stiffened. Her heart hammered against his ribs, terrified he would reject her and cast her back into the cold.

”Marvin... you’re not asleep,” she stammered, her cheeks burning. ”I’m just a little scared up there.”

Marvin ignored logic and bypassed her fear. He offered a warm, protective smile that melted her panic. Instead of pushing her away, he shifted to make room and pulled the blanket higher, wrapping her in his gravity.

Lindsay grew bolder. Her green eyes shone with a starved excitement. ”I want to sleep with you in my arms tonight... like my Po plushy. Is that okay?”

Without waiting for an answer, she squeezed deeper into his space. She hooked her slim legs around his thigh and pressed her body flush against his chest and hips. She anchored herself to the only reliable thing she knew.

A sharp, awake voice cut through the shadows from above.

”Okay, Lindsay. Don’t even think about monopolizing Marvin down there.”

Lindsay let out a startled shriek. She looked up in horror. Jessica’s head peeked over the edge of the mattress, her dark brown eyes gleaming with amusement.

Marvin blinked. His mind connected the dots. Tonight’s ”spontaneous” sleepover served as a premeditated, coordinated plan. They hadn’t packed fresh clothes and toothbrushes for a simple late-night movie. They had orchestrated this scenario to trap him in a single room.

Jessica climbed down from the bed with cat-like grace and slipped under the blanket on his other side. She refused to cling to him like a life raft. She claimed him with fierce, possessive confidence. She pressed her slender back against him, molding her body along his side with a satisfied hum.

Another head poked over the mattress. Dorothy smiled mischievously. ”Is there room for me on the floor?”

”Gone! It’s full!” Lindsay whispered fiercely. She guarded her spot and tightened her arms around Marvin’s neck like a territorial cub.

”That’s not okay,” Dorothy declared.

She slid down and forced her way between Lindsay and Marvin. The cramped space under the blanket forced Dorothy to lie half on top of Marvin’s chest. Her firm thighs straddled his leg. Her athletic frame pressed down on him, softening against his torso as she settled.

”Don’t you dare leave me behind up here.” A husky Southern voice drifted from the mattress.

Beyoncé descended to the floor. Instead of fighting for the cramped sides, she claimed the prime real estate. She straddled Marvin’s waist with curvaceous thighs and lowered her body onto his. She rested her head on his shoulder and settled her hips over him, enveloping him in her generous curves.

This action sparked a subconscious rebellion for Beyoncé. Her father tightly controlled her diet and her image. Sprawling unapologetically on top of Marvin became a demand to be held exactly as she was—without thinking of looks, image, or performing.

”You are treating me as a piece of memory-foam furniture,” Marvin groaned. His velvet voice carried amusement. He enjoyed the maximum advantage of the situation while behaving obediently.

”That’s right, Marvin Pillow,” Jessica commanded with a wicked laugh. She hooked her arm across his waist and pressed her toned body tighter against his side. ”Be smart and hug us obediently.”

As Jessica spoke, a irregular sensation broke her focus. Dorothy’s athletic body pressed hot and insistent against her arm. The girl’s breathing turned loud, ragged, and uneven. Jessica glanced at Dorothy’s hips, which ground subtly against Marvin’s thigh. She chuckled in the dark.

”What are you laughing at, Jessica?” Marvin glared in the dim light, though the corner of his mouth twitched. ’It wasn’t you who caused this biological reaction!’

The four girls tangled around him under the single quilt. Soft curves, warm skin, and racing heartbeats boxed him in from every direction.

Lindsay clung to his neck like a koala, Dorothy half-draped over his chest with her strong thighs locked around his leg, Jessica molded along his side with her perky breasts rubbing gently against his arm, and Beyoncé gloriously sprawled on top of him, her voluptuous body blanketing him in delicious warmth.

The aura radiated through them, transforming the innocent cuddle pile into something charged, addictive, and deeply intimate. It flushed their systems with dopamine and rewired their stressed nervous systems to associate his additive scent and heat with unassailable peace.

Soft giggles, warm breaths, and the occasional shy little shift of hips or press of breasts filled the dark bedroom as the girls settled in happily, each secretly savoring every point of contact with Marvin’s warm, strong body.

With his targets exactly where they wanted to be, Marvin shifted to the offensive. ”You all had a plan for today, didn’t you?” Marvin purred into the dark. ”Tell me the truth. What do you want to do with poor me?”

Jessica, Lindsay, Dorothy, and Beyoncé exchanged glances in the dark. Scarlett Johansson’s appearance on that red carpet had triggered a collective alarm. If they didn’t officially stake their claim, the rest of the world would steal their boy.

Jessica sighed and rested her chin on his shoulder. ”Okay, Marvin, we’ll tell you. We wanted to confess tomorrow morning when the sun rose and you were awake, so you could finally choose one of us as your official girlfriend.”

”Yes, Marvin. Choose one of us. Not that blonde New York girl.” Lindsay nodded against his neck. Her voice dripped with the venom of a child terrified of replacement. ”We don’t like that blonde, big-breasted bitch.”

”No swearing, Lindsay,” Marvin scolded lightly. Deep down, the territorial display amused him.

”Why can Jessica say bad words all the time? It’s not fair,” Lindsay pouted.

”Because I am a mature high school student, I am grown up, and I am basically an adult,” Jessica countered, utilizing her stable older-sister dynamic.

”You still can’t say bad words; that’s not ladylike,” Dorothy retorted from his other side.

”Does fighting bullies in the hallway make you a lady, Dorothy?” Jessica laughed sharply.

The unified alliance had formed to secure the perimeter. Now, it teetered on the verge of a jealous civil war over the prize in the center.

”Stop arguing,” Marvin commanded. His velvet voice seized control of the dark room. ”And don’t wait until tomorrow morning. The night is young. Come on, girls... confess your love to me. One by one.”

The arguing ceased immediately. The atmosphere under the blanket grew heavy, charged with a terrifying vulnerability.

The second oldest and most regal of the group started first. Beyoncé lifted her head from his chest, locking her hazel eyes onto his blue ones in the faint, golden light.

”Marvin,” Beyoncé began in a soulful whisper. She wasn’t asking for a teenage romance; her trauma demanded permanence. A boyfriend could leave. A record label could drop her. A husband offered an impenetrable fortress. ”I love you so much. Ever since the kiss we shared on that Ferris wheel, I know I will forever love only you. You see the future the way I do. You protect me without demanding payment. Can you... can you be my husband?” Her confession was deep, soulful, incredibly romantic whisper.

”That is completely unfair!” Jessica protested. Her fiery temper flared, shattering the tension. ”On my birthday, this man got into the car and ignored me for another movie, and it makes me so angry! But...” Jessica softened. Her dark brown eyes melted. Driven only by healthy teenage desire, she traced his jawline. ”But I still can’t stop loving this handsome, arrogant beastard. Marvin, I like you more than anything. Can you be my boyfriend?”

Jessica shot a glare at Beyoncé. ”And you asked him to be your literal husband! Isn’t that going too far, B? Have some shame, girl! We’re teenagers!”

Marvin withheld his answer. He flashed an affectionate smile and glanced at Dorothy. ”Whose turn is it?”

Dorothy puffed up her chest and pressed her athletic frame against his side. ”I’ll do it.” Her tough exterior cracked, giving way to a deep blush. Her mind rested on acts of service; she showed love through utility and loyalty. ”Marvin... I want to be your girlfriend. I want to protect your back. When you become the biggest star in the world, I’ll be your bodyguard and your personal assistant after Amy retires. I will never leave your side.”

”A very lovely and unique confession,” Marvin noted, stroking her hair.

”Your turn, Lindsay.” Marvin turned to the youngest girl in the room.

Lindsay summoned all her courage. She looked deeply into Marvin’s eyes. What came next lacked the innocence of a teenage confession. It stood as the tragic manifestation of a girl warped by Hollywood and an abusive home life.

”Marvin... I want you to be my man forever,” Lindsay whispered. ”And... I also want you to be my daddy!”

....

...

”...”

Dorothy: ”Pfft—!”

Jessica: ”Oh my God, Lindsay! What the actual fuck?! Like... are you for real right now? That’s so weird!” Jessica spoke—sweet but totally freaked out, with that bubbly California valley-girl tone.

Beyoncé: ”Girl, what?! Hold up, hold up! You did not just say you want him to be your daddy! What is wrong with you? That’s nasty!” A sassy Beyoncé—full of that early Destiny’s Child confidence, Houston flair, and dramatic shade.

Marvin: ”...”

Even as a demon who had witnessed all forms of depravity and the rise and fall of it across worlds, the words stunned Marvin for a few seconds.

This was one of the most... well, *creative* and a wildly inappropriate confession he had ever heard from a girl of her age.

Jessica bolted upright, staring at the twelve-year-old in sheer shock. Her stable brain failed to process the pathology. ”Lindsay, do you have a fever?! Are you hallucinating? How on earth can Marvin be your father? He is twelve! He is not going to marry your crazy mother!”

”Seriously, Linds,” Beyoncé chimed in. She rubbed her temples as a sickening realization dawned on her. ”That crosses every boundary. We are trying to be romantic here, not call child protective services!”

Dorothy just felt that Lindsay was being too greedy. ’Everyone else was making exactly one wish; why do you get to make two wishes?!’

Lindsay pouted. Her green eyes flashed defensively as she rounded on the older girls.

”I’m not talking about him being my biological father, you idiots!” Lindsay huffed. She clung tighter to Marvin’s arm, her voice vibrating with a bleeding need for understanding. ”I mean my psychological father figure! Marvin is smart, he’s financially stable, and he listens to me. Having him act as my protector will finally make me feel safe. And I want to be the girl he spoils like crazy. Unlike my real father, who just takes my money...”

She paused. Her trauma dictated that she held value only through transactions. She deployed a wildly inappropriate, precocious defense mechanism to mask the raw pain of her admission. A sudden, wicked precocious smirk crossing her young face.

”...And plus, if he’s my daddy, we can have a lot of kinky, weird fun in bed when I get older!”

Dead silence smothered the room.

The inappropriate joke provided no cover. A terrified child had offered herself as a commodity—the only currency she knew to secure love. A cold fury toward Michael and Dina Lohan burned in Marvin’s chest. But to Lindsay, he offered only grace.

Marvin gently extracted his arm from Lindsay’s vice-like grip. He wrapped it around her shoulders and pulled her against his chest. He raised his free hand, silencing the older girls, and commanded the room with authority. ”Okay! For the sake of peace, fairness, and the psychological health of this coven... I happily agree to all your romantic confessions. I accept the responsibility of all of them. Except the one about being a literal father!”

”What?!” Dorothy gasped, shocked by the blanket acceptance.

”You are too greedy, Marvin Meyers!” Jessica yelled. Anger and disbelief flushed her face red. ”You can’t just take all of us!”
