Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1089: Return

”Wake up?” Zhang Fei immediately sat up in bed before turning to Luo Yunxiao, who was still sound asleep. Tang Ying immediately explained the situation to him, causing him to let out a regretful sigh. ”It’s all over, and she’s in excellent condition. Sooner or later, she’ll wake up on her own, so you don’t need to blame yourself for this.”

Zhang Fei just nodded. ”How long was I asleep?”

[You slept for more than a month and a half, Master.]

”You slept for more than a month and a half, Zhang Fei.”

”Phew.” Zhang Fei didn’t expect his battle with the evil soul of the ten-tailed fox to last so long. ”Where are my parents-in-law?”

Tang Ying informed him directly. ”They went to attend an event at another sect. Your mother-in-law said you don’t need to wait for them to return, and you can take Luo Yunxiao with you directly to continue your seclusion.”

”I see.” Zhang Fei used the map to check on the other members of the Luo Clan, and he found them busy with their own affairs. He immediately picked up Luo Yunxiao before bringing her and Tang Ying back to the training space.

Tang Ying immediately joined the others to continue training, and Zhang Fei brought Luo Yunxiao to the pavilion.

When he arrived there, Zhang Fei found all his wives looking relieved, especially since his four clones had woken up. ”Please forgive me; I’ve made you all worry.”

They shook their heads at Zhang Fei, especially since the mysterious male fox had suddenly attacked him. Zhang Chen immediately approached him and examined it. ”How’s your cursed demon heart, Fei’er?”

”Thank you, Grandma. If you hadn’t come to save me, I would have fallen under the control of my cursed demon heart.” Zhang Fei then looked at Hun Di and his other disciples. ”Master! Senior Brothers! Senior Sisters! Thank you all for your help, and I managed to defeat the demon because you guys helped me with your soul power.”

”Does this mean you have controlled your cursed demon heart, Fei’er?” Hun Di questioned him.

”Yes, Master.” Zhang Fei then explained to them about his battle with the male demon and the evil soul of the ten-tailed fox. ”The heart is under my complete control now, so it will never affect me again, let alone turn me into a pure evil living being. As for the evil soul, I can’t do anything to it for now, and it will remain inside my soul until I successfully gather all the pieces of the old fox’s soul and merge them with mine. However, I’ve already thought of a way so that it won’t bother me anymore, but I still need all of your help to do so, especially since the soul is simply overpowered.”

”What are your plans for the evil soul, Junior Brother?”

Zhang Fei answered Lin Moxian directly. ”I planned to create a soul prison to imprison the evil soul in my soul, but my current soul power is not enough to create a strong prison. Therefore, I need all of your soul power to create a truly strong prison that can effectively imprison the evil soul.”

”When are you going to do it?” Qiao Liangren asked Zhang Fei. Shang Yingyue, Yan Yinqing, and Jing Qiuyue also looked at him seriously.

”I haven’t finalized it yet.” Zhang Fei then told them about his idea for the evil soul. ”For now, it’s still my rough idea, and I’ll refine it first. Once I have finalized my plan, I will meet with all of you, and together we will directly imprison the evil soul.”

Hun Di patted his shoulder. ”Even though your previous situation worried us, I’m glad that you managed to control your cursed demon heart. As for the evil soul, you can tell us once your idea is final, and we will help you to imprison it.”

”Thank you, Master.” Zhang Fei sincerely replied.

Hun Di immediately led his disciples and Xi Hongyan to leave, and only Jing Qiuyue remained because she always lived in the pavilion with Zhang Fei and the others.

”Grandma, I will take Yunxiao to the room first, and I will meet you after.” Zhang Chen just nodded and walked away to her room, waiting for Zhang Fei, who took Luo Yunxiao away.

Zhang Fei’s four clones didn’t immediately dual cultivate with their respective wives; instead, they led them to the training ground, especially since his encounter with the wrath soul of the ten-tailed fox taught him a valuable lesson. He also gained some enlightenment from his battle with the male demon and the evil soul, and he no longer wanted to rely too heavily on all his advantages, especially the soul link.

Zhang Fei left Luo Yunxiao to rest in her room before meeting all his wives, giving all of them a hug and a kiss. After that, he went to meet Zhang Chen in his room, but the kiss they shared in the cursed demon heart made him feel awkward toward her.

Zhang Chen herself felt awkward facing her grandson, and she slightly regretted her decision to kiss Zhang Fei there. However, she knew that she had no choice but to do that; otherwise, he would have already fallen under the control of the cursed demon heart.

Zhang Fei immediately sat down beside Zhang Chen and grabbed her hand. ”Grandma.”

”Please forget it, Fei’er,” Zhang Chen spoke as she sighed softly, then she placed her head on his shoulder. ”I had no choice before, and I kissed you to save you, mainly because I didn’t want to lose you. I don’t want to have that kind of relationship with you, and I will always be your grandmother. Therefore, you should forget our kiss and pretend it never happened, okay?”

”Grandma, I—”

Zhang Chen immediately covered Zhang Fei’s mouth with her hand and looked at him. ”I beg you, please forget it and don’t mention it ever again.”

’Sigh.’ Zhang Fei pulled Zhang Chen’s hand down and hugged her. ”I understand, Grandma.”

After they talked for a few minutes, Zhang Fei left his grandmother’s room. Zhang Chen released a soft sigh, lay down on her bed, and rubbed her lips while recalling the kiss she had shared with her grandson earlier. ’Fei’er, I love you so much, and I would do anything for you, but I never want to be in such a relationship with you.’

”Did something happen between you and my mother?” Qing Yi asked her son as soon as he left Zhang Chen’s room.

”Nothing happened between us, and we were just having a small talk.” Zhang Fei chose not to disclose her previous kiss with Zhang Chen to anyone. ”What are they doing?”

Qing Yi hugged Zhang Fei’s arm and explained it to him directly. ”What are your plans next? Do you want to start dual cultivating with us again after this?”

”We will start dual cultivating again after this, but we will divide our time into honing our fighting skills.” Zhang Fei paused for a while. ”After the mysterious male fox attacked me and almost killed me, coupled with my spar with Yunxiao before, I realized that my fighting skills were far inferior to theirs. My speed was extremely high to face cultivators in the Three Mortal Realms, but it was too slow when compared to cultivators from the Paradise Realm. Moreover, I couldn’t continue relying on my soul link to increase my strength, and I had to be able to face my enemies without borrowing their strength.”

Qing Yi looked at him in confusion. ”Why is that?”

”My reliance on borrowing their power has made me foolish and arrogant, and I didn’t realize the Cursed Demon Heart’s influence on me.” Zhang Fei let out a heavy sigh and clenched his fists. ”If my grandmother hadn’t taken the risk to go there and wake me up, I would be dead by now, and those two bastards would have taken over my body without you all knowing. If that happened, they would use my body to do many terrible things to all of you, and you guys would suffer because of my stupidity. I promised to protect you all, but I almost harmed you all. Therefore, I can’t continue like this, and I have to be better so I can protect you all well.”

Qing Yi nodded slightly. ”In that case, we will help you with your cultivation, and we will also improve ourselves by training harder in the next few years. This way, you don’t have to keep worrying about us, and we will protect ourselves.”

”Yes.” Unlike before, Zhang Fei had made a decision for all of his wives, and he would no longer confine them to the pavilion. He wanted his wives to roam freely in the Paradise Realm to experience more things, which would help them become better cultivators and assist him in facing any future problems.

Qing Yi then told him something else. ”You may not know it yet, but your grandmother was able to enter there not because of your master and the others. Instead, Qian Shuang used her rare ability to send her to that place, so you should thank her too.”

”Oh?” Zhang Fei was surprised to hear that, especially since he had not seen Qian Shuang at that place before. Qing Yi immediately provided him with further details about the actions of the female elf. ”I’m going to see Shuang’er now.”

”Go on.” Qing Yi pushed him forward.

”Shuang’er.”

Qian Shuang, who was sitting by the bed, turned to Zhang Fei with a smile. She patted her side and spoke. ”Come here, husband.”

”I’m sorry; I didn’t know you were also helping me by sending my grandmother there.” Zhang Fei then sat beside Qian Shuang and hugged her. ”Thank you, Shuang’er.”

Qian Shuang hugged Zhang Fei back and rubbed his back. ”Husband, I’m your wife now, so you don’t need to thank me. Moreover, I only helped our grandmother enter that place from your soul world, so—”

”Regardless, you two have saved me, and I am truly grateful for that.” Zhang Fei pulled Qian Shuang to the center of the bed, laid her there, and crawled on top of her. ”Shuang’er.”

Qian Shuang’s face turned shy and her heartbeat accelerated, smelling his masculine scent. ”Husband, my sisters are preparing a small banquet for your recovery, so we can’t do that now.”

Zhang Fei kissed her, lay down beside her, and hugged her. ”Do you miss your father and the others?”

”Uhm.” Qian Shuang nodded and snuggled closer to his chest, enjoying his scent. ”I missed them, but it’s only been a few days in the Three Mortal Realms, right?”

Zhang Fei nodded slightly. ”A week, to be exact.”

”In that case, I won’t go back there now, and I will meet them again after we complete our seclusion.” Qian Shuang looked up slightly. ”I hope to reach a higher level by then, and I will surprise them with my cultivation level by then.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei laughed in response. ”Don’t worry; you will be stronger than them, including your father, when we come out of our seclusion.”
