Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 537: Lightning Pond

The crowd began whispering when they saw Xian Feng and Shi Qingzhuang, especially since they didnʼt come alone. Instead, they came together with the Emperor and Empress of the Yun Kingdom, with their two children following behind.

Several important people in the Xian Kingdom, such as Yang Caojing, Old Wen, and Old Feng, also came with them.

Although Fa Zhen and Gang Zhishou were already aware of Zhang Feiʼs relationship with the royal family of the Xian Kingdom, they still harbored many questions about it. After all, the royal family had never attended the opening of a business, let alone the owner, who was still young and had no status in their kingdom.

Behind the crowd, Lian Jinshu stared at Zhang Fei angrily because the Xian royal family cared so much about him, and Xian Feng even sent Yang Caojing to threaten him. ʼThis little bastard! I still donʼt understand how he managed to have a good relationship with them!ʼ

Ignoring their gazes, Xian Xianqin immediately ran towards the restaurant, briefly glancing at Zhang Fei. However, she didnʼt say anything to him and entered the restaurant directly, further confusing the crowds about his relationship with the royal family.

Zhang Fei smiled faintly when he noticed two faint red hues on Xian Xianqinʼs cheeks, and he immediately cupped his hands in front of his important guests. ”Welcome to my Sky Jade Restaurant, Emperor Xian, Empress Shi, and Prince Xian.”

”Our children have told us about the deliciousness of your restaurantʼs dishes, so we came here purposefully to taste them ourselves.” Shi Qingzhuang said with a smile.

Unlike his wife, Xian Feng immediately introduced the Emperor and Empress of the Yun Kingdom to Zhang Fei. ”Brother Yun and Sister Guo happened to come to this kingdom, so we asked them to join us to taste your dishes.”

”The presence of the two of you is an honor for me, Emperor Yun and Empress Guo.” Zhang Fei said as he cupped his hands to them.

”Hahaha!” Yun Shang laughed and patted Zhang Feiʼs shoulder. ”Since we come from a faraway place, you should treat us with your best dishes.”

Zhang Fei nodded to Yun Shang. ”Emperor Yun, all the dishes in my restaurant are the best, and we use the finest ingredients, from beast meat and vegetables to cook them. All our prepared wine and drinks are also of the best quality, so you wonʼt be disappointed when you enjoy them.”

”Thatʼs great! Iʼll enjoy everything.” Guo Xuehua said with a broad smile. ”Anyway, my husband and I would like to speak with you before we return to our kingdom today, so I hope you are willing to spare some time to talk to us.”

The crowds were perplexed by Yun Shang and Guo Xuehuaʼs attitude toward him, particularly considering their status as the Emperor and Empress of the Yun Kingdom. Meanwhile, Zhang Fei was a mere youngster with no status, and his cultivation was too low to be their equal, but they spoke to him as if he was on their level.

Zhang Fei had expected that, so he immediately agreed to Gui Xuehuaʼs request. ”All right, I will accompany you two to talk later, but we have to go in now, or these people will have to wait a long time.”

Zhang Fei then led the people from both kingdoms into his restaurant, followed by Fa Zhen and Gang Zhishou. He had asked Zhu Yan to prepare a special table so they would not mix with those commoners.

The crowd, especially the men, were instantly captivated by Liu Hua, who walked out from inside. Despite her natural beauty, Zhang Feiʼs two pills enhanced her allure, and her body was among the best of all his wives.

However, Liu Hua ignored their stares and instructed their employees to ignite the firecrackers they had previously prepared before speaking to those people. ”Welcome to our restaurant. Our chef has prepared many special dishes you have never tasted before for todayʼs opening, and we are sure you will enjoy them. Due to our limited space, some of you will have to wait outside, or the situation inside will be too cramped.”

Following the announcement from the guard of the Xian Kingdom, Liu Hua immediately returned inside and instructed the female servants to guide the people into their restaurant. Despite this, she still directed them to maintain control over the situation, mainly because the number of visitors exceeded their expectations.

Since he had been expecting their arrival, Zhang Fei had asked Zhu Yan to cook different dishes for the families of the two kingdoms, and he had selected the meat of the best beasts for the dishes.

Xian Feng, Yun Shang, Shi Qingzhuang, and Guo Xuehua thoroughly enjoyed the Earth dishes, which were richer in taste and aroma than any cuisine from the cultivation world.

Yang Caojing, Fa Zhen, Gang Zhishou, and the others also enjoyed the dishes in front of them. They even ate them as if they had not eaten for several days.

The diners were initially disappointed because Zhang Fei served them dishes that were different from those eaten by the people of the two kingdoms. Still, they eventually enjoyed every dish he prepared, especially since the taste was as delicious as theirs.

During their meal, they donʼt talk about heavy things; they only talk about light things. Even so, Xian Feng set up a soundproof barrier around them so other people couldnʼt eavesdrop on their conversation.

Zhang Fei could feel someoneʼs hostile gaze toward him, and he could naturally recognize that person, who was none other than Lian Jishu. However, he raised his eyebrows slightly when he saw the woman by the old manʼs side, and the systemʼs scan showed that she was Huan Ya, the leader of the old manʼs five guards.

Despite her old age, Huan Ya still looked very young, and she was no less pretty than Xian Xianqin except for her cultivation, which was still below hers. She deliberately left her long, dark purple hair loose down to her waist, clipping the sides with black butterfly clips, and her two-side long bangs fell to her medium breasts. She looks pretty attractive in a sleeveless and tight dark purple dress, with two long dark purple gloves covering her hands up to her elbows and a high slit at the bottom of the dress that accentuates her long and slender legs.

As Huan Yaʼs dark purple eyes emitted a dim light, Zhang Fei suddenly sensed a strange sensation. The system notified him that she had attempted to charm him with her technique, but it didnʼt have much effect on him. With a faint smile, he activated his enhanced demon charm in retaliation against her, causing her heart to beat irregularly as soon as his charm took effect. ʼWhat a fool! She doesnʼt know my identity as a lust demon lord, yet she tried to charm me with her meager charm technique.ʼ

Zhang Fei immediately ignored Huan Ya and continued his conversation with his guests, explicitly discussing his plans. He informed them that he had planned to open an alchemy shop, but he abandoned his idea because he didnʼt want to get in trouble with the alchemy union.

However, the four people were shocked to hear that he was an alchemy apprentice; even Xian Xianqin, who had spent some time in his residence, did not know about it, especially since he only did alchemy in his training space. They were even more shocked when he told them that he was also a low-level formation array master, and he still wanted to learn about blacksmithing from Gang Zhishou.

Two hours later, the people from both kingdoms had finished their meal, and Zhang Fei immediately followed them back to the Xian royal palace. He asked Fa Zhen and Gang Zhishou to wait for him at the restaurant, especially since he wouldnʼt chat with them for too long.

Xian Xianwu also left the restaurant for the sect, but Xian Xianqin and the two old guards stayed there to ensure the safety of Zhang Feiʼs wife and friends.

”Did you learn the lightning body cultivation technique?” When they arrived at the palace, Guo Xuehua immediately questioned Zhang Fei. ”Sister Qingzhuang informed me that you came to this realm to train in the Cyanwood Mountain, but the lightning element there is truly powerful due to its strengthening by the lightning law.”

Zhang Fei softly sighed as Xian Feng and Shi Qingzhuang revealed numerous details about him to the emperor and empress of the Yun Kingdom. ”Empress Guo, I donʼt have the lightning element, but my master said it doesnʼt matter if I learn her technique, especially since the other effects of her technique are still useful. However, I still need help from powerful lightning to reach the highest level, and lightning in Cyanwood Mountain is the best choice for me. Even so, I will not act rashly to go there with my current strength and cultivation, especially since that lightning will instantly turn me into ashes.”

Guo Xuehua immediately stretched her right palm forward, and a purple lightning ball appeared above it. However, it quickly turned dark purple, and Zhang Fei immediately realized she had already comprehended the lightning law. ”You must have guessed it, right? Even though I have comprehended the lightning law to the intermediate stage, I still canʼt get close to the peak of Cyanwood Mountain, so you should reconsider your desire to train your body there. Even if your lightning body cultivation technique has reached the highest level and your cultivation has reached the seven divine realms, you wonʼt be able to approach the peak.”

Zhang Fei frowned as his eyes remained glued to the lightning ball above Guo Xuehuaʼs palm, but he did not doubt her words in the slightest because he was already aware of the power of the elemental laws. ”Is there anything to help me get closer to that place, Empress Guo?”

”No.” Guo Xuehua immediately pulled her lightning element back. ”I have used many artifacts to protect myself, including a divine-grade artifact. Unfortunately, they were destroyed when lightning struck them, and I have not dared to approach that place since then. I have discussed the matter with Xian Lianghua. Still, the elf emperor also has no solution to approach it, especially since some natural races with a high affinity for the lightning element cannot go there.”

”Even the natural races canʼt get close to that place, huh?” Guo Xuehua nodded to Zhang Fei with a serious look. ”Honestly, my master has checked the mountain several times, but she canʼt get close to the peak, especially since lightning storms often occur there. At first, I thought the natural races could help me get there, but I must rethink everything since they canʼt help me.”

”Huh?” Guo Xuehua, Yun Shang, Xian Feng, and Shi Qingzhuang looked at Zhang Fei in shock. ”Who is your master? Why have we never heard anyone else going to the Cyanwood Mountain?”

”My master is Hong Xinxin, but she lives in another realm, and she told me that she had indeed been to that mountain several times.” The four of them looked at Zhang Fei curiously, but instead, he looked at Xian Feng and said something else. ”Emperor Xian, I know you sent your sister to the Wasteland Realm to investigate my background, but I advise you to call her back immediately, or she will face danger there.”

The emperor and empress of the Xian Kingdom were genuinely shocked that Zhang Fei knew about it, especially since they did not tell anyone, including their children.

”Brother Xian, donʼt clans from other realms use the Wasteland realm as a punishment ground?” Yun Shang directly questioned Xian Feng.

”You are right, Brother Yun.” Xian Feng then asked Zhang Fei. ”What do you mean that my sister will encounter danger there? We know many evil people are there, but I donʼt think Changyue will encounter danger there, especially since she has excellent concealment technique.”

”Emperor Xian, you have never entered that realm directly, right?” Xian Feng nodded to Zhang Fei. ”Unlike you, I have lived there for several months, so I understand the situation there better than you. The truth is, the cultivators in that realm originate not from these middle realms but from the upper realms, and their strength surpasses that of the four of you.”

”Are you serious about that?” Xian Feng asked in shock; even the other three looked shocked by Zhang Feiʼs information.

”If I wanted to lie to you, I wouldnʼt have asked you to call your sister back, right?” Xian Feng was not a fool, so he immediately followed Zhang Feiʼs words by contacting Xian Changyue via a long-distance communication device, and he strictly ordered her to return to their realm directly. ”Even if your sister had such an excellent concealment technique, the people there would be able to detect her presence. Moreover, not only do humans live in that realm, but there are also beast, demihuman, and demon races. The other four races might not do anything to her, but the demon races are different, and they might capture her as soon as she enters that realm.”

Xian Feng let out a sigh. ”Thank you for your warning, Zhang Fei. Does that mean your master also came from the upper realms? I heard from Xianqin that you met her there, so I thought she should be part of them.”

”My master did come from the upper realms, and her home realm is the Red Sun Realm. However, I have never been to that realm, especially since she immediately returned there after I officially became a body cultivator, so I canʼt tell you anything about that realm.” The four people exchanged looks of shock, especially since they had never been to the upper realms, let alone meet cultivators from there. ”As for how I got to that realm, the story is too complicated, so I donʼt want to waste my time explaining everything.”

They sighed heavily as they were curious about it, but they did not force Zhang Fei to explain it to them. Instead, Guo Xuehua handed him a token, and he accepted it with a slight raise of his eyebrows. ”The lightning in the Cyanwood Mountain is too strong even for me, so you should not go there, or you will die in vain. Instead, you can go to my Guo Clan in the Yun Kingdom and show them this token. I will inform them about you, and they will allow you to train in our lightning pond.”

”Lightning pond?” Zhang Fei gave Gu Xuehua a confused look, primarily since he had never heard of such a thing. ʼMei, try to find the location.ʼ

[Yes, Master.]

Guo Xuehua immediately explained to Zhang Fei, ”I donʼt know how the lightning pond was formed, but it was formed after a lightning phenomenon occurred in that place. My Guo Clan has always focused on the lightning element; we decided to move our clan to that area. Although the lightning there is weaker than in Cyanwood Mountain, it is still stronger than in other areas, and it has helped us increase our lightning cultivation.”

”I see.” Zhang Fei nodded in understanding and put away the token. ”Thank you, Empress Guo. Unfortunately, I still want to learn other things, especially blacksmithing. Thatʼs why I wonʼt be going there now but will go there in the future.”

Guo Xuehua nodded to Zhang Fei. ”All right, you can do whatever you want for now, and you can go directly to my clan to practice your lightning body technique.”
