Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!

Adrian Law and Cecilia Vaughn had just finished dinner, and the man held the girl’s hand, a doting smile playing on his lips.

”Cecilia, your school’s food isn’t bad.”

Cecilia pulled a face at him.

”Of course! Although it’s still not as good as yours, it’s way better than the restaurants outside, and the price is very reasonable! Ever since I married you and went to Stellerton University, I feel like I’ve gained twenty pounds in a year.”

Adrian stared at Cecilia’s slender waist, then at her bony shoulders, and couldn’t help but shake his head.

”Gained weight? Girls are cuter with a little more weight, you should eat more.”

”No! I want to lose weight!”

Cecilia’s face showed an expression of deep humiliation. How could she tell Adrian that she secretly weighed herself every day, and the saddest part was that Adrian hadn’t changed at all, but she had indeed gained about fifteen pounds.

Now it’s winter, and the fat is easier to hide, but when summer comes, what a tragedy!

They say if you don’t lose weight in May, you’ll regret it in June, and in July and August you’ll have nowhere to cry!

Cecilia really didn’t want to be the one turning heads for the wrong reasons in summer when out shopping with Adrian, who stood tall and elegant like a tree, while she looked like a barrel.

Ugh...

Cecilia frowned and said to Adrian with a bitter expression.

”Adrian, how about we cut back on our dinners from now on? Don’t make two meat dishes, I’d rather eat vegetarian.”

”No.”

Adrian shook his head disapprovingly and then reached out with a smile to pinch the girl’s cheek.

”You, soft and chubby is cuter, otherwise I’d think I’m holding a walking skeleton at night.”

”Walking skeleton...”

Cecilia murmured, glancing speechlessly at her own flab hidden beneath her down jacket.

So exhausting.

Her belly was almost turning into a flotation ring, if that’s still considered a skeleton, what kind of toxic rib shack would that be?

How badly would the customers complain!

...

Cecilia deeply resented her weight, but to Adrian it was just a trivial matter.

He truly hoped Cecilia would gain a bit more weight.

He could never forget the day Cecilia first came to the company to propose to him, the girl in a thin white dress, looking frail and paler than the dress itself, with a waist thin enough to snap in the wind.

This well-nourished version of her relied on his homemade supplements.

Of course, not too fat either, not that Adrian had a particular preference between plump or slender, but being too overweight is unhealthy, fearing it might disrupt hormonal balance.

...

Adrian held the girl’s hand, and as they strolled through the meandering campus paths, a sense of school-time romance bloomed in his heart.

However, a sharp shout shattered this peace.

”Sister, so you’re here?”

Cecilia frowned, looking afar, seeing Fiona Vaughn smiling warmly at her from the other side of the path.

”What are you doing here? How come the great ambassador of the Youth Harmony Program has time to wander around here?”

Upon hearing Cecilia’s displeased tone, Fiona’s face instantly showed a pitiful and fragile expression.

”Sister, how can you say that about me.”

”Did you know? I specifically came to find you. I understand you’re not interested in that bothersome Youth Harmony Ambassador, but perhaps you’re resentful because I took your first place, right? I admit, that piece was beautiful; at first, I misunderstood and thought you plagiarized, so I’m apologizing, okay?”

Tears glimmered in the girl’s eyes as she clutched her heart, her act as if Lady Serenya had been reborn, although Lady Serenya might not even have been this skilled.

Cecilia felt a headache upon hearing this; she had never been one to act out a sisterly bond with Fiona.

”Here, it’s just me and my husband. If you have time to apologize, why don’t you go to the media and accuse me of being heartless?”

”Sister, I know you only blame me with words, but in your heart you feel unsettled, so how could I defame you in front of the media?”

Fiona wiped her tears, supporting her back which showed signs of a pregnancy, struggling to cross the path, intending to walk toward Cecilia.

Adrian glanced coldly at her, then calmly held Cecilia’s hand.

”Cecilia, let’s go.”

Adrian couldn’t be bothered to converse with such a venomous, cunning woman.

”Sister, Mr. Law, wait for me!”

Fiona panicked seeing Adrian turning away, and Cecilia not looking back at all, she felt a sudden pang of anxiety, quickly playing her trump card in a moment of desperation.

”Sister, don’t you want to know the news about your mother, Wendy Sutton?”

”...”

Cecilia froze, hesitating for a long while, finally gritting her teeth and shaking her head.

”Adrian, let’s go.”

”Alright.”

”Sister!”

Fiona hurriedly caught up, blurting out a stream of explosive information in one breath.

”Sister, have you ever wondered why your mother Wendy Sutton went missing during the shipwreck years ago, and her body was never found?”

”Is it possible that someone might have interfered?”

Cecilia’s heart ached slightly.

Rationally, she wanted to ignore Fiona, this pathological liar, but emotionally she couldn’t dismiss even the slightest possibility.

Fiona noticed Cecilia’s wavering and softly spoke.

”Sister, what harm can a pregnant woman like me do to you?”

”But considering the Vaughn Family’s reputation, Mr. Law isn’t one of us, would you let him head back to the room first so we can talk alone, alright?”

Cecilia pondered for a while, hesitating as Adrian fixed his gaze on her.

”Cecilia, it’s up to you.”

”Yes, Sister, it’s a school environment, and I’m pregnant. How could I possibly harm you?”

...

Cecilia silently tightened her grip on her bag, inside which was a pepper spray, and a real-time locator she’d given Adrian, so both weren’t worried about Fiona’s tricks.

”Okay, fine.”

”Adrian, you should head back first.”

This is a school, plus the special friendship activities between China and America led to heightened security, so it’s hardly likely anything could go wrong.

...

As Adrian headed to the room Cecilia had directed him to, opening the door, a sudden lavendery fragrance mixed with a particular scent wafted through the room.

Is this... Passion Burning Incense?
