Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 2204 - 1572: Beginning

Especially for those loose cultivators, being able to buy pills with better efficacy at a lower price saves them a significant amount of Spirit Stones!

And compared to these Spirit Stones, even if the Tongtian Sect doesn’t have suitable places for training, they are willing to reside here, at most spending more time on the road.

Besides, judging by the current development speed of the Tongtian Sect, they are probably aware of their own flaws and shortcomings and might have already started laying out plans.

”This auction held by the Tongtian Sect is likely to attract a large number of cultivators. Even those major forces in Mingzhou will send people to attend.”

”Doesn’t this mean we won’t have a chance to acquire any spiritual objects?”

”Probably, but it’s still good to broaden our horizons. After all, for this auction, the Tongtian Sect doesn’t require an entry ticket to boost popularity; attendees can enter for free.”

Everyone thought this made a lot of sense. Although there might not be a chance to obtain treasures, at least they won’t be turned away.

Moreover, they can take this opportunity to witness the strength of the Tongtian Sect. Before this, the sect hadn’t fully shown itself, always giving off a veiled and mysterious aura.

”The auction is set to be held in ten days. We might as well go together then.”

”Sure.”

...

On the other side.

The major forces in Mingzhou indeed received the relevant news quickly, knowing that the Tongtian Sect is about to hold an auction and details about the items on sale.

”Where exactly did this sect emerge from? If it was just a newly established sect, how could it present such precious treasures?”

But no one present could answer this question, as they didn’t know either. Some of them had never even heard of the Tongtian Sect before.

There’s nothing they can do since, in the past few centuries, the Tongtian Sect had been extremely low-key, and since its Mountain Gate is located in a remote corner, it’s normal not to have heard of it.

”Perhaps they obtained treasures from that ruin or Secret Realm.”

The Sect Leader shook his head, not focusing on this issue but more concerned about another aspect, ”This can be investigated slowly later. For now, let’s discuss the challenges they bring.”

Unlike the loose cultivators who cared about pill prices, these forces focused on the overall impact.

Given that the cultivation world in Mingzhou isn’t particularly developed, the overall number of cultivators is limited. If the Tongtian Sect now seeks to attract a large number of loose cultivators to reside there, it will surely reduce the number of loose cultivators in their territories.

Simultaneously, if loose cultivators begin buying the improved pills, their own pills won’t sell because they become completely inferior substitutes, leading to a significant reduction in profits from this portion.

”Can we sell the pills used internally by the sect?” suggested an Elder.

But someone immediately objected, saying, ”That’s not feasible. They are selling pills at the current market prices. Even if our pills are similar in efficacy, we can’t sell them at the same price!”

Most importantly, they can’t supply a large quantity of mid-grade pills.

The alchemists they’ve trained do have the capability, but it requires more resources and time.

Unlike in the past when alchemists didn’t care about the grade of the pill, as long as they succeeded in refining it, lower-quality pills could be sold to loose cultivators, and the quality ones were kept.

”How can the Tongtian Sect manage this? A sect established for only a few hundred years, where do they get such capability?” One Elder questioned, then voiced his suspicion.

He thinks this might be a gimmick by the Tongtian Sect. They may indeed have mastered improved pill recipes but can only supply them in limited quantities, and they’re purposely not disclosing this.

”I think that is exactly the case!” Many Elders believed this to likely be the truth because it was a plausible explanation, assuming the Tongtian Sect was fooling outsiders.

After all, even these mighty, ancient forces, with thousands of years of tradition, can’t accomplish this. How could a small sect less than a thousand years old?

The atmosphere at the scene relaxed immediately, no longer as tense and serious as before.

”Should we participate in the auction?” asked one of the Elders.

”Certainly! If the list of auction items is genuine, we should bring back a few treasures.”

The Elder smiled mischievously and added, ”And there might be a good show to watch.”

They had already concluded that the Tongtian Sect’s strategy to attract cultivators was unfeasible and expected to see them humiliated.

But will this really be the case?

...

Ascension Mountain.

Wansheng, upon learning about Li Zhirui’s plan, initially disagreed because he also didn’t believe the current Tongtian Sect could meet the demand from many cultivators for improved pills.

”Sect Leader, isn’t this move a bit too rash? Besides you, can any other disciple refine the improved pills?”

But now that the word is out and unknown numbers of cultivators know, it’s too late to regret.

Thinking of this, Wansheng frowned continuously; the reputation of the Tongtian Sect hadn’t spread yet but was already facing a setback without knowing what sort of evaluation it might bear.

”Don’t worry; the difficulty of refining hasn’t increased. There’s just an extra step after the pill is formed.” Li Zhirui’s face showed no worry at all, as if he didn’t consider it a big deal.
