The Strongest Urban Son-in-law

Chapter 89: Chapter 87: The Challenge

Feng looked at Sun De with impatience on his face. He was just that kind of person, one who would respond to kindness but not to force. Since Sun De had already acted like this, and Feng, in fact, hadn’t suffered any losses, he decided to let Sun De off the hook.

”Get lost and don’t let me see you again!”

Upon hearing Feng’s words, Sun De quickly got to his feet and fled under the contemptuous gazes of the crowd.

”All right, let’s continue with the assessment!” Director Gao said to everyone after watching Sun De leave.

”Wait!” Feng called out.

Director Gao immediately became furious, ”Feng, what else do you want? The assessment has allowed you to participate, and Sun De has apologized to you. What are you still unsatisfied with?”

Feng spoke indifferently, ”Didn’t you just guarantee that Sun De hadn’t pocketed my registration fee? Now, shouldn’t you fulfil your promise? I remember you promised the same thing concerning Sun De, didn’t you?”

After hearing Feng’s words, Director Gao’s brows furrowed, and his face turned ugly. He walked up to Feng’s side and whispered in his ear: ”Feng, let’s just let this matter go, shall we? Consider it a favor to me, and if you ever need help in the future, just ask!”

”What a joke!” Feng shouted. ”What makes you think I owe you any face? How much is your face worth? I’m giving you a chance now, kneel down and admit your mistake immediately, or I’ll help you do it!”

”Has this guy gone mad?” After hearing Feng’s words, everyone was stunned and watched in shock.

”Director Gao is a master of Inner Strength, a powerful being who can easily defeat dozens of people, but Feng is still so arrogant!”

Filled with shock, everyone thought Feng was a fool. If he had just given face to Director Gao, there would be opportunities for Gao to help him in the future. Yet, Feng had chosen to offend him instead.

”You little bastard! Don’t push your luck. Who do you think you are? It would take me just a minute to kill you. If I say it’s over, then it must be over. Do you think I am like Sun De, for you to push around as you please?” Director Gao, burning with rage, loudly challenged.

Feng, however, still wore a look of disdain and said indifferently, ”I’ll give you one minute to think about it. After one minute, if you haven’t kneeled, I’ll help you kneel.”

”You little bastard, I won’t kneel today! I want to see what you can do! After one minute, if you don’t make me kneel, I will make you kneel!” Director Gao raged.

”This dumbass is done for!” Everyone watched Feng with cold smirks, showing schadenfreude expressions and mocking him.

But Feng was completely unconcerned and just looked at Director Gao with indifference.

”Director Gao, you might as well kneel and apologize. Today your nephew, Sun De, pocketed the registration fee. The only reason he had the guts to do that is because of your indulgence. Don’t think you have no part in this. As the Deputy Director of Heavenly Origin Martial Arts Hall, how can you go back on your word? If you say something, you must follow through!

If you do this, I will take it as you admitting your mistake. Otherwise, I will report today’s event, and you can forget about your Deputy Director position!”

”Zhao, you—!” Director Gao glared at Master Zhao, his eyes burning with rage, extremely angry. He hadn’t expected Master Zhao to kick him while he was down at this time.

”Am I wrong? If you make a promise, then you should keep it. Don’t think that Sun De’s actions have nothing to do with you. If you kneel and apologize, I will consider you wrong and let today’s incident pass.”

Master Zhao’s tone was very firm, seemingly assisting Feng on the surface but not really.

Master Zhao and Director Gao, the Senior and the Deputy of the hall, had always been in a covert struggle. Master Zhao wasn’t doing this for Feng’s sake, but his own. By acting this way, he intended to show everyone in Heavenly Origin Martial Arts Hall of Lin Tian City that he, Master Zhao, was the one in charge.

”What, you’re not willing?” Master Zhao looked at the flushed face of Director Gao and asked coldly.

Director Gao, having no choice, said directly, ”Fine, remember this incident today. I will not forget, and I will pay you back one day!”

Director Gao’s face turned red with anger, and then he slowly knelt down before Feng, speaking with great difficulty.

”Feng, I’m sorry. It was wrong of me to accuse you of not paying the registration fee...”

Each word that Director Gao said was spoken through gritted teeth, filled with resentment.

Afterward, he perfunctorily kowtowed three times to Feng. But even though it was perfunctory, it still brought him utter humiliation.

Director Gao inwardly vowed to kill both Master Zhao and Feng one day to settle the score!

Finally, Feng, satisfied, nodded slightly.

Master Zhao also nodded with satisfaction, ”Alright, since that’s settled, let’s start the assessment!”

”Wait!” Just then, Liu Fan stepped forward, looking at Feng.

Everyone was getting impatient and said: ”What now? It’s just an assessment; can’t we proceed?”

Liu Fan said to Master Zhao, ”Master, Feng is actually already a master of Inner Strength. Letting him participate in the assessment isn’t fair to these students who stand no chance against him. The strongest of them has only just stepped into the realm of External Force. It’s too unfair for them. How about this—I will spar with Feng instead. That way, we can truly assess Feng’s abilities.

Whether Feng qualifies for our Heavenly Origin Martial Arts Hall’s top certification can be determined through our fight. What do you think?”

After hearing Liu Fan’s words, Master Zhao nodded, ”That sounds good. After all, Xu Zhong is not his match either, so let’s have you two try.”

Then, looking at Feng, Master Zhao asked, ”Feng, you have no objections, right?”

Feng remained calm and nodded slightly, ”I have no objections...”

”Great!” Liu Fan shouted excitedly, with a gleam of thrill in his eyes. He then made a leap.

Jumping over three meters high, Liu Fan landed effortlessly on the stage, touching down gently with the use of Inner Strength, displaying an air of elegance.

”Amazing!” Everyone looked at Liu Fan in awe, admiration in their eyes.

”Is this the strength of a mid-stage Inner Strength martial artist?”
