The Strongest Urban Son-in-law

Chapter 77: Chapter 75: A Life for a Life

”Don’t worry, I’m on my way back!” Ye Feng nodded, then hurried home.

At this time, Lin Jianguo, Liu Guixiang, and the rest were in a frantic mess, worried about Lin Shiyu’s safety. Sir Lin Zhen also looked distressed. Seeing Ye Feng arrive, his face finally managed to show a trace of a smile, ”Ye Feng, you’ve finally come!”

Ye Feng nodded and then comforted, ”Grandfather, don’t worry. This must be a kidnapping. The kidnappers are only after money. I believe it won’t be long before they call to negotiate. Calm down for now!

Now, we need to confirm Shiyu’s whereabouts. Once we know where she is, leave everything to me. Shiyu will be safe!”

Seeing Ye Feng’s confidence, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Just then, Sir Lin Zhen’s phone rang.

”Hello...” A strange, icy voice came through the phone.

Ye Feng and the others immediately understood that it must be the kidnappers calling.

”May I speak to Lin Zhen, Sir Lin?”

Lin Zhen frowned, ”Yes, it’s me...”

”Your granddaughter Lin Shiyu is in my hands. If you want her back safe and sound, prepare one billion in cash and have Mr. Ye Feng deliver it. Otherwise, I guarantee Lin Shiyu won’t see tomorrow’s sun!” the man said coldly.

”Oh?” Hearing the kidnapper’s words, Ye Feng’s mouth curled into a cold smirk.

Ye Feng could clearly sense that these kidnappers were not targeting Lin Shiyu, but himself.

As for who it could be, Ye Feng had already guessed—it was surely the Liu family’s doing.

Taking the phone from Sir Lin Zhen, Ye Feng said, ”You don’t need to pretend. I know you’re after me. One billion, I guess you’re not even interested in that. Just tell me the place, I’ll come alone!”

After a moment of silence, the person on the other end laughed, ”Mr. Ye is indeed straightforward. Since that’s how it is, I won’t beat around the bush. Indeed, we’re here for you. Come immediately to the unfinished building in the South Suburb, and you must come alone. If I see anyone else with you, then be prepared to collect Lin Shiyu’s body!”

The kidnapper then hung up abruptly, leaving everyone stunned. They hadn’t expected the kidnappers to be targeting Ye Feng, not caring about the money at all.

”Ye Feng, this is all because of you, the jinx! I’ve said it before, you’re nothing good. The day after we return from Longdu, you’ve put Shiyu in danger because of you. You’re a bastard!” Liu Guixiang lashed out in a berating tirade.

Ye Feng completely ignored Liu Guixiang and instead looked at Sir Lin Zhen, ”Grandfather, rest assured, I will bring Shiyu back safely and not a hair will be harmed.”

”Mm, then go quickly!” Knowing Ye Feng’s capabilities, Sir Lin Zhen was completely reassured.

Ye Feng had already figured out who was behind this—without a doubt, it was the Liu family from Longdu.

Since leaving the Southern Border, though Ye Feng had made many enemies, there were not many who would kidnap Lin Shiyu.

Counting carefully, aside from a few people at the Heavenly Origin Martial Arts Hall, a group too low-level to kidnap Lin Shiyu; then there were the Zhang and Wan Families from the four major clans of Lin Tian City. With Wan Family Patriarch Wan Shanhai having a good relationship with Sir Lin Zhen, it certainly wouldn’t be them; the same for the Zhang Family.

The Zhang Family was also familiar with the Lin Family, and any movement would be easily traced by the Lins.

Finally, there was the Liu family from Longdu, who Ye Feng had recently offended. They had kidnapped Lin Shiyu, but surely they wouldn’t harm her.

Ye Feng had crippled Liu Yufan, making the Liu family view him as their number one enemy. But everyone had seen Ye Feng’s strength that day, and even Liu Yufan was easily defeated with a single blow.

Hiring an assassin to kill Ye Feng would cost a fortune, so targeting those close to him was the best choice.

Half an hour later, Ye Feng arrived at the unfinished building in the South Suburb. His phone rang, ”Mr. Ye, you’re true to your word, actually coming here alone. Head to the sixteenth floor, we are waiting for you...”

Ye Feng hung up directly and headed to the sixteenth floor. Upon arriving, he found six men in black clothes, each exuding a strong Blood Qi.

Ye Feng saw at a glance that all six were martial artists, and they all had Inner Strength.

The weakest three were at the mid-stage of Inner Strength, followed by two at the late stage and one at the peak.

Clearly, the Liu family had gone to great expense to have Ye Feng killed, but in his eyes, their efforts were laughably futile.

The man with peak Inner Strength, about forty-five to fifty-six years old, was holding a dagger near Lin Shiyu, who was tied up next to the couch, ready to take her life at any moment.

Ye Feng’s expression tensed slightly. If it were an ordinary martial artist, or even a civilian, Ye Feng would have already charged and killed him before the enemy could react.

But Ye Feng didn’t make his move now, with the man holding the dagger at a vital spot on Shiyu.

If it were Ye Feng in his peak state, he could easily kill the opponent. However, with only 70% confidence of striking before the enemy could react, Ye Feng wouldn’t gamble. He had promised to bring back Lin Shiyu unharmed, and he was determined not to risk her life.

”What do you really want?” Ye Feng asked the six men coldly.

Just then, the man with peak Inner Strength took out a poisoned dagger and placed it on the coffee table in front of the couch.

”Mr. Ye Feng, I’m sure you understand our intentions by now. We are here today to kill you. Just stab yourself with this dagger, anywhere on your body, and we will let Lin Shiyu go,” the man with peak Inner Strength said.
