Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Liu Yu and his group, faces drooped, followed the train conductors onto the armed train.

In view was a hall five meters wide, stretching endlessly, with cold mechanical locks on the metal doors on both sides that sent chills down one’s heart. Various hidden light strips illuminated the wood grain on the ironwood floor with perfect clarity.

A row of four tables, spaced a meter apart, extended ahead.

Everyone momentarily believed they were brought to a time before the apocalypse.

Separated by a door, outside was the wasteland apocalypse, inside was such a sci-fi scene.

Liu Yu even forgot that he was sold onto the train.

”Please find a nearby seat, do not leave any seats empty or whisper, wait for the examiner to distribute the test papers. The exam lasts one hour, the entire train is monitored, anyone cheating or disturbing the exam will be executed on the spot.”

A calm voice came out of the radio.

To confirm his words, a black gun barrel emerged every ten meters from the roof.

Seeing this made everyone’s heart quiver, and they hurriedly found seats to sit down.

’An exam, seriously!’

Liu Yu stared at the pen on the table with a sense of absurdity.

He glanced at his companions, everyone’s face carried a feeling of surreal absurdity.

Who would believe it?

One moment wielding guns speeding down a monster and zombie-infested abandoned highway, the next dragged into a civilized train for an hour-long intense exam.

Absolutely insane!

Right after they sat down, a group entered behind them. Though their clothes were messy without logos, Liu Yu scanned and spotted several acquaintances, all minor leaders from Jinfeng Chamber of Commerce.

Seeing their despondent expressions made Liu Yu feel somewhat relieved.

More people came in, startling Liu Yu. Over two hundred people from Jinfeng Chamber came in, and many lone scavengers as well.

Unlike the four major factions, these lone agents anticipated being chosen to board the armed train.

But upon hearing the rules repeated over the radio, some imposters panicked immediately.

A group of black-clad conductors began distributing thick test papers; the only sound in the hall filled with hundreds was the rustle of flipping pages.

”I’m not taking this test, I haven’t taught students in ages, I’m afraid I won’t make it...”

The man with disheveled hair sitting at Liu Yu’s table exclaimed as he checked the paper, attempting to flee.

The distributing crew merely watched coldly, showing no intention to stop him.

”Bang!”

The gun barrel overhead slowly turned back.

Liu Yu’s heart skipped a beat, immediately dismissing the thought of submitting the paper early.

Soon the test paper landed in his hands.

Feeling its weight in his palm, Liu Yu’s eyes glazed over, there were eighteen pages, all double-sided.

One hour!

Liu Yu screamed internally about ghosts once again.

Reflecting on what felt like ancient exam tips, Liu Yu first glanced through four pages in entirety.

The paper was complex, the first three pages were general knowledge questions, unrelated to any language, math, or english he learned, but rather about disassembling firearms, maintenance, weapon familiarity, survival skills, tool repair, zombie habits, evolution beast awareness and so on.

[If a zombie is ten meters away, what cover will you choose to hide behind?]

[If bitten on the rear by a bloodhound, how will you provide first aid?]

[If you only have these tools, now assuming a scenario... what decisiveness will you make?]

The following three pages were theory he understood, physics, from easy to difficult, with no multiple-choice questions.

Then mathematics, chemistry, biology...

Afterwards mixed questions on machinery, biology, geography, metals, and more.

[How to manually build an engine?]

[What steps are needed to create an apocalyptic ecological cycle system?]

[If you own a military off-road vehicle, how will you modify it?]

[Facing an attack of numerous plants, what device will you plan in advance?]

After viewing these questions, Liu Yu calmly started analyzing which gun barrel above would kill him.

...

A peculiar scene unfolded in the wilderness.

A menacing armed train blocked all roads leading to Zhijin City.

A fleet of over ten thousand was intercepted before the train, sporadic gunfire echoed from nearby as mutant beasts and zombies were slaughtered.

More scavengers gathered from afar.

Several faction leaders gathered in the center, awaiting their subordinates’ exam results.

Like parents before the apocalypse waiting for students’ college entrance exam results, each locked in worry, eyes straining with anticipation.

Originally, they were reluctant.

But the resources offered by the armed train were too abundant.

So rich that even if they conquered Zhijin, they might not acquire such terrifying resources.

Especially the batch of evolution resources, they were unheard of.

After receiving a ”gift” from Mr. Shu, the armed train could indeed be called a moving treasure trove in the Storm Zone.

Ordinary firearm weapons could already achieve full train distribution, advanced electromagnetic weapons were equipped according to the needs of the Armed Corps, snipers, precision shooters, medics, demolition experts, communication... every personalized infantry equipment fully provided.

More advanced items like single-soldier exoskeletons, single-soldier drone combat groups, and electromagnetic invisibility cloaks were also included.

Now, the train has begun customizing equipment based on the new system encompassing five combat functions: fire suppression, sensory reconnaissance, medical collection, close combat, and mechanical repair.

Not to mention the dozens of evolution potions, hundreds of profession formulas, and nearly a thousand rare evolution materials.

The current technological level of the armed train is roughly stronger than a force like Jinfeng, but the level of goods possessed surpasses top-tier powers like Black Kite, reaching the scale of a large national war.
