Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 419: Chapter 273: Cunning (Part 2)

”Bang!”

Before Xiaoba could relish the moment, Licking Rabbit pounced on him, knocking him down.

A row of bullet holes appeared on the metal wall.

Soldiers emerged from behind the iron wall, surrounding them for precautionary shooting to suppress enemy firepower.

Licking Rabbit said, ”Awesome, Master Eight!”

”Uh, then why are you tying me up?”

With a bewildered look, Xiaoba’s shy smile hadn’t faded, as he stared at Licking Rabbit’s gloomy expression.

Licking Rabbit hoisted Xiaoba onto his shoulder, crouched down and jumped into the trench.

Xiaoba regretfully looked at his wheelchair left behind on the battlefield.

’It could still fool people with a bit of repair...’

Upon seeing the backup soldiers, Licking Rabbit fiercely shouted, ”You there, take this disobedient kid into custody for me! Wait till I report to the conductor, then he’ll get a severe beating!”

The battle hadn’t lasted more than five minutes before the armed train pulled back two main generals.

But things weren’t looking good for Black Kite either.

A total of ten special service squads, plus two hundred regular special service personnel, making three hundred in total.

Except for the thirty left in the theater, the rest were fighting against the armed train.

When first covered by artillery fire, they felt humiliated like being bitten by ants, and as the fighting continued, they felt stifled—it wasn’t that they couldn’t fight back, but the opponent’s artillery was too fierce.

It wasn’t like they didn’t have heavy firepower, but who the hell would lug a railgun over thousands of miles?

The armed train carried all the base’s firepower with it.

Hence, Black Kite felt incredibly frustrated.

They planned to regain the upper hand through suppressive capabilities when face-to-face.

Ten squads meant at least ten Tier One Evolvers, plus a few strong teams, totaling thirteen Tier One Evolvers.

But before they could showcase their prowess, He Jie killed two on the front lines.

Then Xiaoba took out one more.

Two people, in exchange for three.

And two others tried to lead their teams in a pincer attack, but still haven’t returned.

...

”Boom—”

Suddenly, there was a violent tremor from the first floor of the mall next to the theater.

The tiles, already riddled with holes from mutant plants, became even more fragmented, and a Silver Kite wearing an exoskeleton lay in a large pit, the exoskeleton on his body twisted and deformed like a crushed can.

Silver Kite struggled to lift the gun in his hand.

A flicker of despair crossed his dilated pupils.

A shadow as large as a door panel came whistling down.

”Bang! Bang!”

With two consecutive sounds, a burly man as big as a small mountain slightly bent his knees.

Even the mutant plants that had extended their tendrils were scared back by this terrifying tremor.

Squatting atop his shield, Liang Kuan slowly stood up, blood splattering evenly from the shield at his feet.

Armed soldiers quickly gathered around.

Witnessing this violent scene made their throats tighten.

”Captain Liang...”

”Are the others dealt with?”

A rumbling sound came from Liang Kuan’s chest, like the noise of thunder.

Mountain Goat wiped the blood from his mouth, giving a big thumbs up, ”Three Tier Ones! I’d heard Old Liang was super fierce, but never thought this fierce. Let’s go back and kick that old dog He Jie off, and support you as the Boss!”

Liang Kuan merely shook his head slightly at Mountain Goat’s joke, picking up his shield.

The Silver Kite below was already fused with the exoskeleton, indistinguishable in shape.

Liang Kuan carried the shield towards the ruins of the theater outside.

”Continue executing the assassination mission.”

Exiting the mall, there lay several scattered corpses outside, and on the theater square directly opposite, a group of special service personnel stood in a state of high alert behind special vehicles, and upon seeing Liang Kuan emerge, the mortar mounted on the car roof fired instantly.

With sharp eyes and quick hands, Liang Kuan lifted his shield, exhaled and let out his voice, his muscles like granite, his green military uniform stretching into exaggerated muscle shapes, knees slightly bent.

When all this was completed, the shell hit the shield.

With a boom, the inch-thick stone tiles on the square shattered, and dust flew everywhere.

The Silver Kite guarding the door couldn’t help but have their eyelids twitch, their intuition like a drum, pounding wildly in their hearts.

They cast an anxious look towards the theater.

Since the order to ”take down the armed train” was issued, no one had come out from inside.

Compared to the battle outside, the commotion within was even more terrifying, thunder lights flashing and loud noises frequently erupted.

Those who knew it was a negotiation inside, those who didn’t would think it was gods fighting.

When the dust cleared, even the seasoned Black Kite personnel couldn’t help but gasp in shock.

Two terrifying furrows extended to the feet of a towering figure at the mall entrance.

Although the shield had dented, everyone was still indescribably shocked.

’That’s definitely a Tier Two!’

Sweat instantly covered the back of the Silver Kite captain, whose face turned pale.

It’s simply impossible for a Tier One to withstand cannon fire with bare flesh!

Absolutely impossible.

”So, it’s been discovered.”

Liang Kuan’s muffled voice came from behind his shield, a piercing pain from his joints, any slight movement caused intense muscle pain.

This was his body’s warning to him.

However, under the enhancement of the skills ”Pain Dulling” and ”Efficient Recovery,” Liang Kuan quickly regained his combat strength.

It’s worth mentioning that the ”Soldier” profession has no active skills, and his Tier Two profession ”Steel-body Shield Guard” consists entirely of passive skills.

Including subsequent advancements, he had no abilities that could be used externally.

Even the energy used by Fighting Masters in the later stages was unavailable to Liang Kuan!

All the energy was used to foster this terrifying physique!

Pulling his foot out from the broken floor, his tactically crafted boots were still worn to tatters, Liang Kuan frowned and stepped barefoot onto the ground.

Seeing his movements, ten assault rifles simultaneously erupted in flames, bullets tearing through the air, yet when they clashed with the two-inch thick alloy shield, they exploded into sparks.

Mountain Goat inside the mall certainly wouldn’t just watch, leading over a hundred soldiers in retaliation.

Pinning down the dozen Black Kite Special Service tightly behind vehicles.

In the midst of the hail of bullets, Liang Kuan crouched and dashed forward, holding up his shield like a runaway locomotive, crashing into the crosswise vehicles with a thunderous bang.

The leading armored off-road vehicle, weighing several tons, flipped over directly.

The Special Service personnel hiding behind stared in bewilderment at the beast-like giant before them.

The edge of the shield crushed the chest bones, the body of the Special Service was thrown like a broken sack into the air, not waiting to hit the ground, the rifle of a second Special Service was already shattered into fragments.

With a horizontal sweep of the shield’s edge, the gun barrel snapped, and metal fragments splattered, embedding into the eye socket of a third Special Service.

The third Special Service dropped to his knees directly.

Not surrendering, but because his head was flicked up by a shield strike, prying open his crown.

Brain matter splattered across the shield, mixed with gunpowder smoke, evaporating into a foul, bloody mist, with the fourth and fifth opening fire simultaneously, bullets denting the shield but unable to penetrate.

In an instant, three Special Service personnel, on whom Black Kite had spent significant resources, were pinched to death like chicks by Liang Kuan.

The Silver Kite Special Service captain could only brace himself and charge forward.

Ignoring the rain of bullets, he climbed onto a vehicle to fire down at Liang Kuan.

”Roar—”

Liang Kuan bent one knee, stepping onto the bonnet of an armored transport vehicle, and leaped up.

The shield flung like a discus, the Silver Kite captain on the vehicle atop crashed down like a bird with broken wings, exoskeleton parts clashing and scattering.

Reaching out, he grabbed a knife emerging stealthily from his waist, a large hand covered his opponent’s panic-stricken eyes, and with a crack, twisted his neck, pulling him like a shield on his shoulder, then struck against the command vehicle where the Silver Kite was!

Another symphony of metal and flesh.

Seeing Liang Kuan singlehandedly supress the entire opposing team, Mountain Goat ignored his shock, leading the soldiers out to strike the drowning dogs while they’re down.

Soon enough, all the remaining Black Kite Special Service personnel at the entrance were taken down.

Liang Kuan had thought that Tier One Silver Kite wouldn’t die so easily, but to his surprise, the latter was unlucky and got his head smashed by the shield straight away.

Dropped dead on the spot.

The battlefield at the theater entrance looked as if it had been trampled by a giant beast.

Several tons of heavy vehicles tipped over on the ground, Special Service personnel either embedded in the vehicle bodies or in the ground, only three had intact bodies because they were shot to death.
